[Question] Unlock Bootloader - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
Following the steps listed in this video, How to unlock your Poco X3 NFC Bootloader (English).
Is it possible to remove the SIM card after starting the unlock to use it on another phone while waiting for this phone to be unlocked in 168 hours?
I wonder if the hours is counted by:
the time spent (on mobile data) regardless of the phone the SIM card is connected to
the time spent (on mobile data) specifically on POCO X3 NFC
the time POCO X3 NFC is idle with WiFi connection
Any thoughts on the following?

The answer is yes.
Note when the countdown will end.
Keep device logged into your Mi account.
Shutdown PX3.
Remove SIM card and use freely on any other device.
Patiently wait until after the end of the countdown.
Re-insert SIM card on the PX3 before booting it.
Proceed to unlock...
At least, that's how I did it (from surya V12.0.4.0.QJGEUXM).

Thank you for the swift response, much appreciated! Interesting that one can turn off the POCO X3 NFC too!
My MIUI version is 12.0.7.0(QJGMIXM) if it means something for this unlocking.
I have just unlocked via tool and exit fastboot mode by holding down on the power button which caused the phone to reboot. Will take your advice and remove the SIM card for my own use until the countdown is completed.
The wait begins, will try an update after the 168 hours.

Hi @pnin, just to clarify,
Do we make sure the WiFi is OFF and Mobile Data is ON before re-inserting SIM card and then put it into fastboot to proceed to unlock?

Just take care to insert the SIM before booting the device. I left everything else on defaults.

Guide: A50 (Garminfone). How to reset to 10 tries to enter unlock code

I bought a ebay Garminfone (it's my second) and it came with 1 attempt left to enter the code. I've ordered the code, but I wanted better odds than 1 try.
Hold D-Pad left while powering on. Hold D-Pad LEFT until the next line appears:
"Wipe userdata" appears on the screen. It can take a few minutes to run its course.

It wipes EVERYTHING off the phone. Just be warned.
I did a Master Clear when it restarted, just for good measure. I have no idea if I needed to or not. I had a T-Mo SIM card (unregistered) to be able to access the Master Clear section. It may work without doing the Master Clear.
But it does reset the counter to 10 tries!
This process may even work on a HARD LOCKED phone that shows 0 attempts left, but I have not had cause to try that. This method wipes everything on the phone and restores it with the hidden/secure recovery image. Hard Lock seems to be a software issue, which can probably be changed with this method.
After I did this, I changed the .update file to the Canadian one for Videotron. The 10 tries stuck!
I am just waiting for my unlock code to give it a try.
I think it's pretty safe to buy used phones that claim not to read the SIM card etc now. Updating the old 1.6 version to 2.1 fixes that. D-Pad left + power fixes almost everything else.
This process should be able to recover from anything except if you've screwed up the bootloader or the hidden recovery image.
this method does not work on my hardlock phone, i try to update but no sucess, it hang up after rebooting in the first line until i remove battery pls any one know solution to this

This one also did not work. Even SIM management is disable, when you go to settings (SIM management).
Three days ago i try to install CLOCKWORKMOD using an app called [ROOT] Rashr- Flash Tool from play store.
after installation the network disabled and even i try to reboot in to recovery mod, but it failed to, it just restart the phone.

I waited 180 hours instead of 168 hours, dear friend
Unlock 168 hours
I have to say, that this waiting time (168 hours) is stupid what I have ever heard. I have root many phone, also Xiaomi Mi A1. No problem.
Xiaomi has make unlocking easy, but this waiting time is strange, why? Now I can wait 168 hours (week) and then maybe 1000 hours.
First attempt 'Verifying device' was ok. But 'Unlocking' fail. After second attempt came this 168 hours.
If this Xiaomi-style unlocking, maybe is better send phone back this Poco 2 to seller.
Go to developer settings and sign in your device with your mi-account (look at the attached picture). Without this you could not unlock . Then try unlock again and wait the time you see on the unlock screen and then try once again.

Unlocking Bootloader Procedure
1. You must ensure that your device functions normally(not in bricked, soft-bricked, bootloop state) as you need to add the Mi account in the settings.
2. Your PC has necessary drivers and you're on the latest official MIUI ROM before you start to unlock.
3. Please insert your SIM card before proceeding to unlock.
What to do after obtained approval to unlock?
1. Settings--- About phone--- MIUI Version (Keep tapping it to enable developer option).
2. Settings--- Additional settings--- Developer option and bind your approved Mi account under Mi Unlock Status.
3. Log into the Mi account which has acquired unlocking permission on your device.
4. When you logged into the Mi Unlock Tool, tap on the top-right gear icon to check the update for both USB driver and Mi Unlock Tool. Make sure you're running the latest version.
5. Turn off your device, press the Power button and Volume - button at the same time to enter bootloader mode.
6. Log into the unlocking tool on PC with the same Mi account. Connect the device to the PC using USB cable
7. Press 'Unlock' and follow the timer/ waiting period shown in Mi Unlock Tool to unlock successfully.
Note:
1. Follow the timer/ waiting period shown in Mi Unlock Tool to unlock successfully.
2. After you've successfully bound your Mi Account, do not factory reset/ log out the approved Mi account from your phone. Otherwise, the timer will be reset and you gotta spend more time waiting again.
3. Use another PC (64-bit) to unlock if MI Unlock Tool fails to detect your device/ unknown error.
- If you're facing "Couldn't verify, please wait a minute or two/ No Network/86012/20091 " related errors when adding Mi Account in Mi Unlock Status. File a bug report via Settings--- Feedback, attach the screenshot of the errors and the bug log directly from your phone. Don't spam the forum with multiple threads across subforum.
- If you're facing "User Portrait Scores Too Low Or Black", please create or use a new Mi Account to unlock.
ha ha!!! what you have done after waiting 7 days??
do you again add your device to mi unlock status again after waiting 7 days??
i m also trying unlock of mi 11lite ne 5g from last 1week still miunlock tool extending days

Question [Bootloader] your account is not authorized to unlock. please change another

Hello everyone,I have recently bought a Poco X4 pro 5G. I'm trying to unlock its bootloader, but the MiFlash Unlock tool got me this error "your account is not authorized to unlock. please change another". I have activated the developer options in the terminal and enable the USB debugging and OEM unlock. When I try to "add Mi account and device" in Mi Unlock state menu in developer options, I get the same error than MiFlash Unlock tool: "your account is not authorized to unlock. please change another".
I have unlocked other devices in the past with this account (more than 2 years) and I have quit these devices from my Mi Account, so I only have linked the one I'm trying right now.
I don't know what I can do more . I don't have other SIM cards to try with differents accounts. Please help me.
Thanks

i have the same problem, i hope someone could help us soon
i have the same problem. from 2 week i try and failed
Hi,
could you solve the problem? I ran into the same error. I waited 143 hours, and don't know what I did wrong with my account. Next time I tried to unlock, I got this error.
On mi forums some people decided to open a completely new account with new sim card and phone number, and then it worked for them. I don't know is an option for me, since I have just one sim card and don't want a new one wih a new number.
While my device is a Redmi Note 9 Pro for less then 200 €, it seems to be really ridiculous making, it that complicated to unlock the bootloader.
Funfact, the Mi tool for Linux says, my User photo scores too low or black (error 20033).
best regards
Hi everyone,
I could solve this. That's simple, the only thing you have to do is to clean and to delete your Mi Account from all of your Xiaomi devices and create another one new with the same phone number (it doesn't matter). Then I could unlock my bootloader
Thank you for your fast response. I will give it a try, since I have nothing to lose.
I created a new mail account and passed.
Because something went wrong with the previous account and it kept failing.
Okay, that's interessting. I created a new account. And now they want me to use another SIM, since mine was used to Register to many Accounts..."pleased Change another"
I'm starting to hate Xiaomi, though I have to say, the Hardware is really good.
So I gave up opening bootloader for the moment. I debloated MIUI and wait for 13.
I had this exact issue. Used a second sim to make a new account. Let's hope this time it works.
I had to delete my Mi account and recreate it for the unlock to work (… after waiting 168h again).

Latest update messed up my phone(MIUI 13.0.2 Global)

Hi! As the title says, my phone is unable to connect to WIFI, I keep on toggling on the wifi icon but it stay disconnected. USB connection seems to take a hit as well as my PC is not recognizing it as well even USB debugging is enabled, I had tried to factory reset the phone to no avail..
Are there anyways I can downgrade to a more stable OS or install a custom one?
Thanks so much!
edit: Phone now fixed! I Had to bring my phone to a cellphone repair shop and he reballed the CPU, problems are now gone. Thanks for the help!

Thanks, I have just enabled it thru OEM unlocking option in the developer menu and logged-in at my MI account as well.
Though, USB debugging is enabled, my PC here is unable to detect the phone.
