I just got a Note 10 today that I had purchased from the states.
First thing I noticed was on boot there is a T-Mobile splash screen.
So, from what I read, I figured flashing the U1 firmware to the device would not only eliminate the splash screen, but by the sounds of it, it would remove the T-Mobile bloat and Samsung bloat as well? Correct me If I am wrong.
What I am curious about, as I am in Canada with Telus, I see sammobile has the firmware for the W TLS version as well.
Would there be any benefit to flashing the W firmware for Telus vs just using the U1? Or would I just be getting Telus bloatware then?
Also, If I do flash to U1 or W, does that then change where you receive the OTA updates from? Currently it says it is using the T-Mobile service. So if I go U1 it would be Samsung and W it would be Telus?
Sorry if this is a dumb question. Didn't see anyone asking about the W.

In short no. The closest to what your thinking is like having a s7edge and instead of running your providers firmware, in your case (T-Mobile) but you got a Verizon phone, you could download and run the "unlocked firmware" for the phone. In this example it'd be SM-G935U if say you had a SM-G935R4(U.S. Cellular), I know you can also flash other providers to the s7edge like verizon to a us cellular phone. Don't think it flys with the s6 like that though.
That's what I kind of figured. Verizon has their phones extremely locked down but figured I would ask before I tried and bricked it. Thanks for the imput and help.

I got an ATT S8+ from a friend but I am in Canada. It has a bunch of ATT default apps which I want to get rid off. I wanted to know if it's possible to flash the default firmware for our version here 955W.
If yes do you think I would be getting future OTAs from bell or still from ATT.

i signed up at 355pm PST. with unlocked ATT s8+ plus (i bought the unlock code on ebay). i bought the att s8+ from samsung dot com, i dont know how to get the code from them, so i bought it on ebay.
UPDATE: try some online unlock service (instead of ebay). some give you the unlock code instantly.

you CANT use att unlocked s8+ on verizon, it only works on GSM carriers. if you want to use verizon, sell the att s8+ and get Verizon s8+
i have unlocked att s8+ when i put in Xfinity mobile simcard which uses verizon towers. my unlocked att s8+ got no signal.
Oreo is out for at&t users anyway, look in the guides section. Apply update from SD. Easy and smooth.

I have ATT s8 g950u device which have AQEF(may17) fw. I have some questions that do i have to install every fw one by one by odin (i couldnt find all the fw) . Or do i have to skip all the fw and directly install CBR9(march18) by odin?

Hi Everyone,
I have a question about flashing my Verizon phone back to its original firmware. I have an sm-g930v. I flashed it to the T-Mobile firmware to get better service on my network. But now im purchasing a Galaxy s9, and I am doing a trade in on the Samsung web site.
I was wondering if I could still flash it back to the original Verizon firmware after flashing it with T-Mobile?
