Hey guys I finally got my phone working stable I guess I have to say it was a mission to even get it to run a custom rom in the first, keep in mind I am Not a developer but just a guy who loves to try new things as most of the curious minds out there anyways I was hoping to get the attention of someone that could help me now cause I can't seem to get this forsaken phone rooted now any insights on how I go about doing that will be much appreciated
the process i used to install the custom rom
And i say this with great seriousness do not format data using TWRP 4 or higher else you will get a bootloop.
ROM// Download Huawei P Smart 2018 from SourceForge.net currently using at the moment

How to Install twrp 3.2.1 Root Huawei P Smart FIG-LX1 - twrp unofficial (unofficialtwrp.com) twrp 3.2
: theres a few i used but i guess its more of issue i had with it that i used more than one
first i flashed TWRP 3.2 using ADB and FASTBOOT to format phones data and factory resetting it again but it is highly recommended that if you do unlock your bootloader that you use EMUI recovery to factory reset before installing another custom recovery. the issues i had with TWRP3.2 is that after i installed the latest build of lineage OS
LineageOS Downloads
the operating system would not boot up however when i flashed stock EMUI 9 recovery Download Huawei P Smart 2018 from SourceForge.net i factory reset and it booted up as normal secondly i actually loaded TWRP 3.2 again because i saw the phone was booting up but the issues just came more anyways TWRP 3.2 couldn't read or id say display the information written to the phone as normal but to me it seemed everything was encrypted thus me installing TWRP 4 and that issue was fixed
there was few hours i couldn't get my phone past the Huawei part of the unlocked warning but that didnt stop me from trying to get it working again
I assume there will be a few people that has the twrp issue where it freezes again like i said do not use TWRP 4 or higher to delete the data i cannot stress this enough but you will end up having problems
so anyways i actually removed the nightly build from my phone cause i tried to installed MAGISK and couldn't get it working so i thought let me try and older OS build maybe theres some trick to get it rooted and boy was i wrong i cant figure it out maybe rooting is just not recommended for FIG LX1 i dont know but im 100% sure theres someone that can help me get it Rooted so currently I have this installed as OS Download Huawei P Smart 2018 from SourceForge.net
@HAKY86 my good sir i hope you get to read this and can help me if you can it would be much appreciated
anyways i hope we get to see more cool roms being made again for the P-smart FIG series

Twrp touch input doesnt work for the verizon v60. but you can still use keyboard and mouse.
Tried on V600TM. Twrp touch DOES work on this firmware. Cannot backup data though, even after formatting:
Can not create '/data/media/0/TWRP' folder (Required key not available).
Edit: turns out the v60 encrypts /dev/media even if there's no login password. After trying to backup to SD card instead I'm now getting extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255
Edit 2: After trying a few things, it appears the issue is with TWRP not asking for a password. Manually running twrp decrypt <PASSWORD> always says the password is incorrect. Removing screen lock and using default_password does not work.
How to install?
Edit: installed with fastboot
Fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Fastboot flash recovery_a twrp.img
Fastboot flash recovery_b twrp.img
To enter twrp power off phone
Hold volume down and power until v60 screen appears
Release power for a second, continue holding volume down, and tap power button
Select yes on factory reset and twrp should boot
Is it ok for v60 demo?

yes it should work no issues, but if you wanna make a full working home instead of a demo phone install CA open firmware via LGup and have to follow guide to the letter.

I starting to doubt there will ever be any custom roms for any phones now that GSI is mostly compatible with alot of devices just do your research for GSI roms if the devices started with anrdoid 8.0 then is most likely is compatible use the treable apk to make sure.
Tell me one a12 gsi rom that is actually working with this phone???

Have you flashed the latest official a12 gsi? I have it up and running. Its super fast and has sound, bluetooth and everything seems to be running find except for the phone app. The included dialer doesn't seem to work but google dialer from play store does. That being said, the fly in the ointment is that there's no sound on the call. Been trying it on various customer service 800 numbers and can see that the call is connected and logging time but no freaking sound.

Anybody foud a fix for the no functioning touchscreen? i wanna try flashing this one but im not sure if mine will have a functioning touchscreen
Based on the minimal interest in this thread I guess there is something wrong with the TWRP. What it misses at the moment? Just the touchscreen support? Apart of this is it already stable? Is it still being developed or abandoned for some reason (no posts here for over a month)?
I've kinda dropped mine because android 11 has so many software bugs it makes it too annoying to bother with. My twrp seemed to be stable except when in the custom recovery screen I didn't have touch support but I was still able to plug a mouse in and work around it. I also wasn't able to get system write access a member was helping me but I think he got busy and hasn't responded in a while.

touchscreen is there, its just weird when rebooting directly into it. You have to do the "button dance" when the phone is off to have full touch support
This is for the V30 but its the exact same method
I'd certainly like to see someone build a case as to why twrp is relevant anymore? I installed it on my v60am only to see it create more problems than is solved. I can do everything with qfil at the partition level and the rest with adb/fastboot n fastbootdd. I for one don't believe that there will be any v60 specific roms for any of various models going forward. There's just not that many v60s out there. Treble is here both with a12 and a13. The only question is; can/will someone fix the qdaq, multi-screen and hidden menu problems (presently on a gsi rom you have no access to *#546346##600#). Were those to be solved It would off to the races.
Imho TWRP is dead, at least on the v60.

can confirm. touch works on my v600TM a12. Thank you!
I tried flashing a zip and got error that the unzip is missing. Seems some versions where missing unzip and it was fixed on later versions.
Code:
Installing zip file '/data/unencrypted/systemrw_twrp .zip
Welcome to systemRW Installer v1.05
Installing systemRW v1.32 by lebigmac
Extracting /data/unencrypted/systemrw_twrp.zip to: / data/local/tmp/systemгw 1.32/
There was an error extracting the file. Please install unzip and try again
Updater process ended with ERROR: 255
Error Installing zip file '/data/unencrypted/system_twrp.zip'
Updating partition details...
...done
Can @UnlockLG upload a newer version or give some details on building the twrp image so I can try.
is another version of TWRP available?
Is this TWRP working with A12?

Ressurection Remix on A8

Hello everyone,
I am creating this post because I would like to know if someone has already installed Ressurection Remix on a Galaxy A8 ?
I saw some tutorials that are explaining this is possible, but when I go to the Ressurection Remix official download page, I cannot find which file is specific to the galaxy A8. Actually, I have some difficulties to understand the files names : Raphael, Sakura, Jason,... Are theses names code names for différents phones ?
I may add that the bootloader of my phone is unlocked, and I am using TWRP to flash zip files.
I didn't treblelize my phone thought.
If you have some other custom rom suggestions, please do not hesitate to advise me.
You can install RR through GSI, by this link
You will have to trebelize your device
Because it's a gsi android 10, you can use vendor quack
Treble Guide
Vendor Quack
Thanks for your reply. Yes I saw that it was possible to treblelize the phone, to install other rom like the very famous lineage os.
But I am little bit hesitant about this procedure : is everything working well with the phone after a treblelization ? Has anyone tried this method?

Treblizing the phone itself does not cause any problem rather it enables you to install different GSIs. Regarding GSIs, each have there own bugs and you have to find them on the GSI thread if available or if they have telegram or github support.
Hey, just made an account to respond to this as I just discovered there are per-device pages on these forums and saw this post, I have done exactly that and been running it for 2+ years now, so far I have had no majour problems wih it, the only majour caviat is that after trebblimg it and installing resurrection remix It seems to freeze when trying to display the charging animation if the phone is off and it plugged in, it still charges without any problems, tho to boot it when in this situation you need to force shut it down using the volume_down + lock buttons and then immidiately after use volume_up + lock buttons to boot into recovery, then you can boot to the normal system from there, I have a TWRP recovery but I think the stock one also allows to resume booting the normal system.
In these last months I had a few weird bugs like the screen brightness beeing locked to automatic but that went away after a reboot and only happened 1 time.
I also installed magisk and a few other small tweaks and things and everything works great, also all resurrection remix customization options.
Actually in the last few months something broke because the safetynet checks fail for the ctsProfile, (most apps like my banking app tho still work fine by using magisk hide (i think it's because the safetynet basicIntegrity check still succeds) and the update page seems also broken (tho no idea about when this broke exactly as I haven't checked it in years), everything else is still fine tho, I might try re-flashing it to update to the new majour resurrection remix when i have time and the will to backup and move everything, something could have corrupted or maybe an update broke it, no idea.
My phone reports resurrection remix 7.0.2 and Android 9.
Hope this is still helpful.

[bootloop] Bootloop on second boot after custom rom installation, XZ Premium

Hi all,
Installing a custom rom on an XZ Premium; it's my first time dealing with this so its possible I missed something. I successfully installed TWRP and adb sideloaded the most recent Cherish OS rom. I was able to set up the phone with no issue, but upon rebooting for the first time back into system, it hits the boot logo, which animates correctly, but then hangs there indefinitely. I have wiped system memory, reformatted, and reinstalled, and the issue persists. I have also tried other ROMs. Arrow had the same issue, as did the Pixel experience, which leads me to believe that it's not an issue with the rom, but something with how I have configured the set-up.
I looked around for solution, but wasn't able to find much on the specific issue of only having issues on second boot, rather than initial. Any help would be appreciated.
I think your TWRP version is the Problem... (I think there were a lot of complaints about 3.3.?.? and higher) I had a similar Problem; TWRP wanted to use /data and if i formated the device, it would endless bootloop (I think because of the encryption the OS uses by default) So i decided to flash a older version (were this wasn't a problem) and I picked twrp-3.2.2-0-maple.img (maple because i have single SIM variant) and I didn't even needed to format the device and it still works (after i flashed Magisk and some other stuff/ "enhancements", that don't impact he OS) and everything still works smootly.
Maybe you should just flash a older version of TWRP (like 3.2.2-0) But i can't guarrantee, that it'll work on Pie(since i don't have it).

Rom doesn't boot

Hi everyone,
This is driving me mad. I've been trying to install a bunch of different ROMS on my Samsung Galaxy A10 and while it seemingly installs just fine, when I press "reboot system" it gets into a perpetular loop. Am I doing something wrong here?
Bliss OS Rom v14 w/ Android 11 for Samsung A10 Arm64 ( Stable Unofficial ) released 2021
IMO you should contact developers of Bliss OS to get your issue fixed.

I don't have experience with Samsung phones in particular, but with Moto phones I've used the online recovery tool to restore the phone back to stock and start over. Not sure there is anything similar with Samsung? Good luck!

Hi, I believe there is, but the thing is that this is like my third ROM on this phone (Decided to install a new one after my bluetooth headphones refused to connect with my phone while being able to connect just fine to literally everything else) & this is the first time I'm having issues like that. Before, when I managed to install the ROM then it was smooth sailing since hence why I'm asking for help. I've spent a few hours trying different ROMS already.

Since it has worked fine up to now I'd like to first exhaust all the concievable solutions before going for the nuclear option of stock firmware.

Understood. For some reason that is beyond my comprehension, it seems it is sometimes suggested to install stock and then a different custom ROM. Again, I don't know what it is actually supposed to do, as I've stayed with LineageOS to keep it simple. I'm not saying to stay with stock, just use it to get phone back to default, then start from there.
nuclear option..stock - hahaha )
Gawd Damit, I tried LineageOS too & a bunch of other stuff & it's always the same problem. I'm all out of ideas now.
Please help, Tried every ROM, same result, doesn't boot
Hi, I've got a Samsung Galaxy A10 SM-A105F and I tried installing all kinds of different roms on it and they install just fine but then when i go to boot to system I end up in this hell hole of perpetual booting and restarting. I've been at it...
