Yes, thanks Mate! Which Firmware was it exactly? Hope i can work with it...
I'm also working on AOSXP actually. https://sites.google.com/view/miustone/AOSXP an new, Xperia exclusive Android OS based on pure AOSP and Sony Open Device Trees.
For Orange Fox we will have to flash a Kernel after using it since it will replace our Devices Kernels (fastboot boot doesn't works). But it's nice for flashing ROMs, GApps, Kernels, Magisk, Wiping/Formatting and so on. That will allow People to share and flash own Projects... Hope that brings in some live here since it will be based on Android 11 which should be good enough for the future of this Devices...

Apologies!
it's from O2 Pay monthly UK 55.2.A.0.630
It's running on an Xperia 1 802S0
That sounds great! To be able to flash something without fear of a soft brick is wonderful. I want to try some gsi etc but without a reliable twrp it puts me off from trying

[Sony] Xperia Open Devices Project

Sony Mobile is committed to supporting the open developer community, and one way to show this is by publishing parts of our code as well as selected tools developed by our internal developers.
For some of the Xperia™ devices, we provide Android™ Open Source Project (AOSP) device configurations on GitHub. This means that the software will be open for you as a developer to use and contribute to. This is a way for us to support the open Android community, and it is also a tool for us to facilitate and verify contributions to AOSP.
If you want to build AOSP for your unlocked Xperia device, you find all the resources you need in the sections below.

I don't know how to cook roms myself. I'm waiting for some dev that know cooking stuff to make the ROM based on Marshmallow.
It's a little weard tbh as there are new 5.1 roms all over the place, but no new topic's with 6.0.
The only ROM that I can find is the AOSP from FXP Group, but it's old (19th October) with bugs etc.
I don't know why they suspend the work on it.
We have official source from Sony to build 6.0 AOSP rom, + now the aosp camera possibilty and could even maybe import the theme engine, launcher from Sony Marshmallow Concept from Z3.
I know that it can be a lot, and its only my toughts as I don't know how exacly build this stuff up, and I just keep my finger cross that someone will grab hands on it and build some nice looking rom for our Z1 Compact.

I know that @erikcas is working on it, (mentioned in his Omni thread), and there is or was a build out there for Z1c - http://fxpblog.co/aosp/aosp-6-0/ - which I flashed and got bootloop. Besides that, someone else started a thread which was closed. I don't know the details, but it seems like they weren''t being totally kosher, (it's still viewable somewhere in the forum). I'm sure we'll be seeing something more from FXP before too long...

Hello, you don't have to get account to use Emma, follow instructions from Sony here http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/how-to-download-and-install-the-flash-tool/ you probably skipped this part - Copy the Customization.ini file. You find it in the Flash_tool_for_Xperia_X.zip.
I can see there is no openbootloader for amami
Edit:
figured it out, its just need to flash ta update aka new s1 boot config.

Nothing special... just download flash tool from Sony site and folow instructions... download complete, flastool installed, simple start emma and connect your device in bootloader mode, til after you connect device in bootloader mode emma window will display few things on the right menu, install TA update and you are done with enabled recovery option (called openbootloader).

I will try but it's a hard task because Sony provide only the Kernel sources, not like on flagship devices where you have the device tree and the proprietary tree too. I tried to build CM13 and it's almost done but I will not spend more time on it because I'm alone to solves bugs and Nougat will come soon.

For me it looks like a clickbait, if you look at the server tree of the download link there is nothing related to XA, Sony or MediaTek (or I missed something) and why putting a finished work in a temp folder ??? http://cloud.vache-android.com/Moto/tmp/
And a last clue, if you look at the bottom of the guide in "related" contents, you will find Lineage15 guides for almost all Xperia with Mediatek processor.

No hope then... Developement is so weak on this device
Edit: this "vache" seems to be a developer for Moto phones
We need lineage for Xperia XA
Imight, I have made it for other devices,
Best Option to stand any chance of custom ROM's on our XA
It will take a lot of effort testing and time but if we want this device running Oreo + then these guys are the only real hope. :fingers-crossed:
https://github.com/MediatekAndroidDevelopers/information
A thread with real pledges needs to be started so we can raise enough funds for test devices and to ask for official support. :fingers-crossed:
The coolpad note3 got support but are the Sony Xperia XA users as committed as they are????
You'd have my money for an Oero Rom
I can support with something if we get more develoment for this phone and I want an Oreo rom ofc
Resurrection Remix
buys loads of devices source code from manufactures
and makes newer android versions for many devices, even for unpopular devices,
so its worth talking to them,

I tried to build it two times. The first built with no errors but the files weren't in zip format and I couldn't figure how to flash them. My second failed because I still need to get by build environment set up again. I just re-installed Linux a few days. I just switched to Linux Mint permanently a few weeks ago from Windows so I've been dealing with the transition. I have the source downloaded so I'll be tinkering with that when I have time. Hopefully something good will happen in a few days on my end. Till then this thread needs to be moved to the Q&A section. I'm glad you threw the question out there and hopefully others will join the party.

My guess is that they don't mind private builds. However, I would doubt they would be okay with a build being posted in a forum like this. Also, from reading their website it appears when you pay, you're getting the support of the devs directly as well as their updates pushed directly to your phone without having to do new builds like you will without a license. I could be slightly off but I think that was the gist of it.

Same here. I used to build ROMs for Samsung and AOSP is pretty foreign to me but I am learning. It's quite a bit for me between real life, a new OS and AOSP. It's cool though, my 40+ year old brain was getting a bit stale.... Anyway I tried again today for a few hours and made some progress. I successfully compiled a generic build but when I try sailfish I get a user error and it tells me to change user. Seeing that the official build isn't available for purchase I think they blocked the build process some way. I can compile Pure Nexus no problem so it's not my set up, probably their directions. But on the other hand it could be on my end. Either way I'll still be looking into it.
Is there a way to compile this os with gapps already built in for personal use. After building and flashing it on my phone I found the lack of certain Google services very annoying. Flashing gapps after installing the os didn't work. Also if you're on T-Mobile no data connection unless you change settings in apn, I wonder if flashing stock vendor img would help with that.

Guide to unlock your MEIZU 16 Series' bootloader

Update: DO NOT TRY TO PAY!!! THE GUIDE IS BADLY OUTDATED. JUST USE THE RESOURCES AND FREE METHODS.
If you want to try the paid method, you should definitely get in touch with the seller first. I don't know whether the previous sellers are active or not.
If you want to inform me of something important, please `@me`, (I missed many replies in the past years)
---
There seems to exist a new method: It is said to work on Qualcomm devices.
First, dump frp partion, then edit the value to 1 at 7fff0, finally, flash the modified frp image. then you can use fastboot command to unlock your phone.
This new method shall work for for ODM devices like 16T, 16x, 16xs and Note9 and so on. see FRP Method.
Below is the original post:
The original post has been removed, since it's outdated and I almost finished the English version tutorial on Github.
You can see it on github.
BTW, it's really difficult to use XDA's text editor.
You can download the TWRP of 16s here
it's a start, is there anyone who has already tried a gsi?
Good news for us Meizu users! Hope this is just a first step towards some good modding ?
Will this also work on Meizu Note 9?

There seems to be custom ROMs for MEIZU 16th, I've seen Lineage, havoc, and mokee before. But i don't know how do these ROMs work. Anyway, I use 16s, not 16th. Besides, I don't know how to add a new phone category.
BTW, it's said that the kernel source of the 16 series will be released, maybe next year. And there are plans to upgrade the Android version of the 16 series.

No problem. If your phone becomes a brick, you can follow the unbrick tutorial to save your phone. But you are suggested to have glance at the tutorial before you go.
As reported by others, fingerprint and Mengine (taptic engine) don't work.
I am on havoc 2.9. Fingerprint mengine and mtp not work. But other features work fine

[Dualboot] Android Boot Manager

Hi!
I would like to present you Android Boot Manager dualboot solution.
For now we have 4 work in progress devices:
Volla Phone
F(x)tec Pro 1/X
Moto G5
Galaxy S3 neo (nothing done yet)
Our wiki
Why new solution?
There is a lot of them already, such as: efidroid, multirom, dualboot patcher.
Now all of them are dead, because google implemented SAR, A/B, super partition.
We aim to support all that.
How it work?
ABM consists of 2 parts: bootloader and app+ sh scripts.
App with sh scriptes is used to install bootloader and add new roms.
Bootloader is used to display list of roms and load linux kernel with right dtb and optionally initrd.
What is used as BL:
Anything that can boot kernel. It coud be either 2nd stage bl, or in some cases even phones main bl.
For now:
Volla Phone (MTK's lk based bl)
F(x)tec Pro1/X (custom abl + uefi app)
Moto G5 and S3 neo (lk2nd)
Thanks to:
nift4 (Android app dev, co-creator of project)
LVGL team (GUI library)
lk (little kernel, used as bootloader on some platforms)
Fxtec (HW)
Volla (HW)

What device, what soc?
I have a F(x)tec Pro1 ready for some stunts, I'm happy to serve as a test pilot as soon as I can find some instructions!
You call it Android Boot Manager. Does that mean it is made specifically to boot things that are based on Android, like Stock, AICPQ, LineageOS, or is that true for any ported OS that runs on libhybris with the Android kernel (plus some patches sometimes), like hybris-mobian, ArchARM, SFOS, etc.?

Hi, now we have work in progress wiki https://www.wiki.abmanager.tech/index.php/Main_Page
We plan to implement no-bootloader-workaround that will work on devices without 2nd or 1st stage opesource bootloader. And we plan support for Das U-boot
Great news! I see that the Pro1 msm8998 is not listed among supported devices, but count me in as a tester as soon as it is. Curious if it would be possible to dualboot mainline + libhybris OSes too, but I reckon this would be difficult.

It is not listed as wiki is really WIP. And yes it will be possible to dualboot libhybris based OSes with mainline based.

I am one of the developers, and well we are working on something easy to port, it isn't totally generic.

that‘s because i deleted the post. It was logic anyway that it will be (hopefully ) a universal solution, bc its also in the topic android development. But nice that you working on that! I also have Dualboot on my Poco F1 because the dev vasishath brought Multirom to this device.
Hi Luka,
any info on the progress of dualboot for the f(x)tec pro1 x? ABM would definetely be great for this device.
