Has their been any suspicious activity reported from devices after they were rooted with king(o)root? - General Questions and Answers

I don't mean data gathering during the rooting proces. But after the phone has been rooted and kingoroot has been uninstalled, has their been any reported data gathering or spying? Refferences to forums and articles would be greatly apriciated.

KingRoot Malware / Adware root !!
There has been a lot of discussion about this topic and opinions. But lets be clear about a few things that are facts: KingRoot now installs a ton of Adware on your device KingRoot takes over your lock screen now and splatters ads on it...

Thanks I apriciate the litterature. I have read the article but it doesn't seem to mention data gathering after the rooting proces is done. Do you have any information for me about that?

[Q] Gedma.C in my Govlever Quantum 700m

Hi everybody!
I bought Goclever Quantum 700M, and I scanned it with ESET Mobile Security. The antyvirus found "Gedma.C" in "Device Managment" - pre-installed app ww.virusradar.com/en/Android_Gedma.C/description. The problem is, that ESET can't delete it, because it is a system app. Here is my question. Is this trojan really dangerous for my privacy, and how can I delete it? I have searched all internet, but I did't find any way to root my device. Maybe there is other method to make harmless this Gedma.C?
Thank you for any anserws

Without root you can't do anything. Either you delete the malware (need root to delete system apps) or you use a firewall (need root to work properly) to block the app's internet traffic.

operaservice.apk: Malware?

Hi there,
I have a cubot and Sophos Security shows the system-app operaservice.apk as a Android Downloader Trojaner...
Is it true? Any knowledge about it here?
Which Playstore App would you advise to use to scan for china spyware apps (I dont have root, but scanning system-apps (read) should be possible I guess??)????
Thanks!

Is iRoot/Vroot/Kingo Root safe & Reliable to use + How to root Cubot x12 ?

So I have lately bought this awesome Cubot X12 Smartphone with Android 5.1.1 and want to get root on it to get rid of suspicious apps/services, some tools which I have checked for rooting only supports up to 4.2.2 (Kitkat) but I have heard that iRoot might root my smartphone but I'm scared a bit because I have search a bit and few users claims that this rooting app have installed "more apps" than it should as well as displayed some unremovable ads in WhatsApp and such. I just don't understand why official rooting apps can't root my smartphone. I have tried Root Genius but it says it's unrootable and I have tried to do this and my x12 stuck on 48% and is rooting in a loop. I just don't get it why closed source apps such as iRoot can root Android 5.1.1 but official ones with open source can't ? So is the iRoot/Vroot/Kingo Root safe & Reliable to use ? I have tried:
1) Download Vroot but Firefox blocks the page as it's dangerous.
2) I have tried Root Genius but it doesn't work.

iRoot: same company as vRoot - no.
dr. Fone: bricks your phone - no.
towelroot: safe but get it from towelroot.com - try it!
framaroot: safe but get it from XDA, Google Play lies that it is a virus - try it!

Magisk: safe from XDA, implies flashing - try it!
Flashing TWRP and installing SuperSU - maybe, but a bit harder, but you can find some advice here - yep.

[Completed] How to block apps which install themselves over and over again ?

Hi,
Phone : ZOPO ZP999 - rooted
The latest month there is something weird going on : 2 'apps' are reinstalling themselves over and over again.
I deinstalled them, blocked them. Even when i block them they disappear and reappear again.
These apps use icons like twitter and facebook.
This is the data :
1. com.roma.boostcleanpro.apk
it refers to this links on GooglePlay : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.roma.boostcleanpro
uses Facebook icon
2. com.sp.cp.apk
nothing to find on Googleplay
uses twitter icon
Does anybody knows the reason ?
Is there another installed app which is responsible for this ?
ps : in "security" , unknown sources is not enabled and verify apps which can cause damage is enabled
Thanks for the help
Hello,
You've picked up some malware, you have to remove the malware to keep those apps from coming back. I'm willing to wager that you rooted your device with Kingroot because it deceptively installs apps when you use it. If you used Kingroot then you'll need to find the method of converting to SuperSU on your device and remove Kingroot, then you won't get those apps installing themselves.
To find the malware you can use Malwarebytes Ant-malware app from the Playstore.
For further help ask your question in the forum linked below.

The experts there may be able to help. Good luck.

Hi - thanks for the reply !
This phone - my ZOPO zp999 - is rooted with SuperSU. I made the root-thread my self here on XDA So the rooting is OK.
The phone has been working fine all the time so there must be an app which caused the reinstalling of some bad apps.
Therefore I run Malwarebytes and had about 8 issues - see screenshot - removed them and since yesterday the problem was gone...
hope it stays that way

Question about iRoot: What is app cool that it tries do install on my phone?

Trying to root my Mi 5s Plus with iRoot. I've downloaded iRoot from iroot.com
I've checked numerous guides about iRoot. Every one of the guide says that once you push root the device might restart, and it takes a couple of second to root the device.
HOWEVER...
My device asking permission to install an app called "App Cool".
I've denied this and the phone rooting fails.
What is this App Cool that no one mentions in the guides? Why I don't find anything on google regarding this process with iRoot and ANYITHING about this app?
This is too suspicious for me to continue.
Asking the professional community, what is this, why no mentions about this step anywhere?
Ok,
Disregard my question. It is clear that EVERY iroot website is fake, and contains trojans and viruses.
Don't download any of the iroot apps guys, dont try to install it on your pc.
The second Iroot I've installed downloaded a file in the background and asked admin permission to an exe file with suspicious chinese characters and numbers in name.
Dangerous guys, rooting a phone doesn't worth loosing all your personal data.
I'm stopping this now and I won't trust any iRoot software moving forward -or anything else to be honest-
Try kingroot app

Your phone has a twrp, just unlock bootloader flash twrp using fastboot then flash SuperSU zip file
Note that unlocking bootloader voids warranty + triggers a factory reset

I'm curious what that 4days old account is promoting to me.
But that account is suspicious too. All he is doing on the forum promoting that app, with his 9 comments so far.
I assume admins will soon delete its account but he will make another one and the thing goes on and on.

Forgot to mention about " cool app" good thing you didn't root with that usually Chinese one-click-root apps install other apps that becomes a app in the system (can't be removed) also the root itself is unremovable ++ suspicious
