A515F/DSN how to change imei - Samsung Galaxy A51 Questions & Answers

Hi, is there a way to change imei on non rooted Samsung A515F ? I tried rooting it, but it didn't went well. I downloaded same exact firmware that was installed on my samsung, tried to follow instruction and converted it in Magisk, then when I tried flashing device with cracked firmware, Odin poped up with some errors, and I was stuck in Downloading Mode. Flashing it back to Samsung first stock firmware did not fixed the issue because there was some error popped up on phone that version of boot of device is 4 and is trying to boot number 1. I guess there was some kind of check lock of boot. I was lucky, that flashing device with firmware that was previously installed unbricked it. But I don't think it can be rooted. So is there a way to change imei without rooting ? Thank you in advance.

But to answer you question, no. I do not think you can change your IMEI without root. On the bright side, your A51 can be rooted!

XT1550 **Soft Bricked** Can't any custom recovery / ROM / Stock ROM

Okay so here's the info to the best of my knowledge,
Phone Model : Moto G 3rd Gen (XT1550, dual sim, 2gb RAM, 16gb ROM, India)
Bootloader Status : Unlocked
Root Status : Rooted
Recovery : Stock
ROM : Stock ROM 5.1.1
I've been running the stock Recovery & ROM with high hopes of getting an official OTA Marshamallow update.
To truly customize the device to my liking I flashed the xposed framework (the arm version) , it worked fine and all the modules I installed worked perfectly.
I also had Device Control, Xposed Gels, and some other apps to bring my Stock ROM experience close to that of Cyanogen MOD.
When the OTA Marshmallow update started rolling in , I was unable to install the update even after successfully downloading the file numerous times. But i was so comfortable with my device and all the customization I had on my device that I decided to keep using my customized Stock ROM.
4 months later (now) the lack of a gyro in this device and my eagerness to get into VR headsets has left me with no choice but to sell it and get another phone. So i needed it in a sale worthy condition, without the customization and with the Marshmallow update installed.
I uninstalled the xposed framework and all the modules but was still unable to install the OTA update.
So i figured i'd install CyanogenMOD with TWRP custom recovery.
I have done this for quiet a lot of my friends and am fairly used to the steps involved. I use the " minimalADB fastboot " kit and my device on fastboot to flash recovery. For some reason i was not able to flash the lastest TWRP image (twrp-osprey-3.0.0-r2.img ) for the device nor was i able to boot from it :crying:. The fastboot command prompt on my PC would show success but the devices would not restart into the custom recovery like it is supposed to, but the device would stay at the fastboot mode and kept restarting everytime i selected the recovery mode option.
I had an older image (twrp-osprey-2.8.7-r3.img ) which i couldn't flash either but i was able to boot into TWRP with this image. From here i tried installing the latest CM12.1 nightly available (cm-12.1-20160227-NIGHTLY-osprey.zip) as soon as i swiped the device would just reboot, i tried this numerous times and with other nightly builds as well.
In haste and frustration i wiped the cache/dalvik , internal storage and system through TWRP , thinking that changes made in the quest of customizing my device were causing this hindrance. I had no OS now. I went over trying to flash TWRP and CM12.1 many times again with the same issues.
I came about a thread on How to " Fastboot Flash Moto G (3rd Gen) Factory Firmware Images " (http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/guide-fastboot-flashing-factory-t3187750) & used this firmware image " Retail Asia | India (2GB) - XT1550_OSPREY_RETASIA_DS_2GB_6.0_MPI24.65-25_cid7 ". Still no progress.
The bootloader unlocked warning has come back (i flashed a stock MOTO logo there earlier) which keeps flashing on my screen again and again , no booting into OS or anything else. Not even an error. As if there is no OS installed.
I have gone about the procedure in the above thread a couple of times, with no success and the same problem.
Is there any reason why i'm unable to flash a custom recovery or ROM ??? What am i missing???
Please help i'm stuck, pulling my hair out with no phone and completely frustrated.
Thanks in advance.

Nope. Too late for that now.
If you're asking in regard to the stock firmware I tried to flash, it didnt depend on the build number. Just the model number and the RAM.

try to flash stock rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/index-moto-g-factory-firmware-images-t3169639 but dont mistake this time double check your model with build number using carefuly the steps from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/index-moto-g-factory-firmware-images-t3169639
You will not brick the phone if you use the latest firmware and do a factory reset before flashing.
Good luck.
but do at your own risk i am not responsible for anything

the link provided is the exact same link from where I flashed a stock rom before.
build number for stock rom??? am i missing something???
all i see is the model variant (xt1550 is my phone)
RAM specification (mine is 2gb)
and the region (mine is retails asia | india )
so i went with the following firmware
Retail Asia | India (2GB) - XT1550_OSPREY_RETASIA_DS_2GB_6.0_MPI24.65-25_cid7
where does the build number come into the equation???
Please lemme know if im doing something wrong. Thanks for the replies.
So I've successfully flashed twrp-osprey-2.8.7-r3.img to my device and I've been able to boot into twrp. The touchscreen doesn't seem to respond though. It asks to swipe to begin and I'm stuck again.
I had the screen replaced a couple of days ago.
Could it be a faulty screen or a software issue?
P.S. I have not been able to flash any version of twrp after the above mentioned version (v 3.0.0 is the latest stable version) but the ones prior are flashable.

Is not big issue
Is it still possible to boot back into the OS? If it is, check if you have OEM unlocking enabled, since you're on stock ROM, it might be gotten unchecked after unlocking your bootloader because that's what happened with me. If you do t wether or not that was checked, you're at a dead end and there's nothing you can do. You can try paying someone to fix it, i.e., Motorola.

Hi guys! Welcome back to another R&R guide and I've been tricking out the AT&T Galaxy S4 of one of my friends, Laguire, and decided to make this guide. So as usual here comes the requirements, followed by a detailed and noob-friendly guide and download links whatsoever. If you have any questions about the guide, you know what to do underneath. This guide is my riskiest guide EVER, so use it at your own risk. Don't blame me if it dies.

Your AT&T S4

-Root ZIP -> S4
-Odin and Recovery -> PC\
2. Connect your device to the PC via USB cable

It is probably for SGH-i337 with exploitable old bootloaders (MDB, MDL). Odin and TWRP is a new one but superSU is 2 years old.
How It Will Works ? I Think Not Possible To Install TWRP ! .... Because AT&T i337 Locked Bootloader ... How I Will Install This ?
Sorry guys, I haven't noticed that Laguire's I337 is the old version. Sorry again for the convenience though.
I have a smart question >.< :/.
Does this work for the Galaxy S4 I337..OC4<-- kernel? lollipop*
Thank you!
Does this work with build ok2?
And why is this considered the riskiest???
This seems to be for phones with the MDB and MDL firmware as if you try to flash TWRP recovery on any other firmware, it won't install.
its not warking for me i get this problem : E: Failed to mount / system (Invalid argument) is there any Solution

This guide is for the MDB and MDL bootloaders that can use the Loki doki patch. Once you've upgraded your firmware, there's no going back.

I'm on oc4 rooted, I tried flashing twrp 3230 using flashify...
Big mistake tried to boot into recovery and it said I wasnt using official at&t software and had me stuck until I finally found if I set odin to autostart 1 after flashing the stock kernel it will boot up.... trying to find a recovery to use atm
I thought that the carriers locked the bootloader sometime before kitkat, I'm still using my AT&T sg4. I looped it installing superuser, had a difficult time getting fixed, found a group of F/W files at sammobile that had to be flashed 1 at a time all the way up to lollipop 5.0 then it took an OTA to 5.01. I need to Root so I can clean out all the useless apps at&t installs. I haven't been able to tether my tablet and forgot what files to use to root with.
Did you still have bootloader you use Recovery on,that would be great.

The only recovery you can use is the stock recovery given you are on OC4 which patched the bootloader exploit that allowed TWRP to be installed.

You are correct, AT&T locked the bootloader from day 1 of the S4 launch. However, there was an exploit for the MDL firmware that allowed TWRP to be installed. If you updated past MDL then there's no going back. MDL was Android 4.2.2 jellybean. The only thing you can do with later firmware is root and boot custom TW ROMs by using safe strap for kit kat and flash fire for lollipop.
Hi All,
I have a Canadian S4, SGH-I337M. It is essentially identical to the AT&T version except the Canadian one's bootloader is UNLOCKED. I have been running TWRP 3.1.1-0 to create nandroid backup for YEARS.
Unfortunately, all the sudden I'm getting this error message when I backup, "E: Another threaded action is already running -- not running 1 actions starting with 'nandroid'". It would try to do something and then quit after a minute without creating anything.
So where do I start to troubleshoot this issue? Again, it has always worked in the past! Thank you

Are you sure the Canadian version's boot loader is unlocked? When I go in download mode there is still this line "Write protect enabled" on...
so I do have an S4 on the MDL bootloader, and i've followed all the steps but I can't flash TWRP.
pretty much every link is dead for the i337 root now except for this which doesn't appear to work. if someone is able to provide the loki, motochopper, and other necessary files for this device so i can get this paperweight loki'd, that would be sweet.

Can only install official binaries message when flashing TWRP with Odin3 on A750FN U4

Hi, I'm having a lot of trouble trying to install a custom recovery. I had it working a couple months back but wanted to go with official again for dumb reasons and now i want to go back but it won't let me flash TWRP, i can't find a TWRP specifically for this version either. It's Android 10 with March security patch.
I hope someone can help me.
Thanks.

As far as your issue goes, I don't actually know much about Samsung specifics, but I believe that particular message means you haven't unlocked your bootloader. You'll need to do that before you can flash custom stuff.

Hi ยก...
1. You have to reinstall via odin the latest version 9 (AP, BL...etc)
2. On reboot do the entire TWPR flashing process for android 9
The current problem is that there is no TWPR for android 10.

The firmware that you flashed has a lower binary than the firmware that you had on the device before you modified it. You need to flash a firmware that has the same binary as what you had before you modified the device, or you need to flash a firmware that has a higher/newer binary than what you had.
See where the error says that your device is binary 6 but the firmware that you flashed has binary 5? You need a binary 6 or higher firmware. You can identify the binary by looking at the 5th character from the right end of the firmware build number.

Be aware, once you flash a firmware that upgrades your device binary to a higher binary, you can not go back to the lower binary. A lot of times, flashing a firmware that upgrades the binary also upgrades the bootloader to a more secure bootloader that can't be unlocked, this kills virtually any chance of rooting the device or flashing TWRP custom recovery and/or custom ROMs. Then you're stuck with a device that you can't modify the way you want.

Have you used TWRP to create a android backup of your stock ROM after you got it fixed? If not, do so, then store a copy of the backup on a PC or USB flashdrive, external sdcard, etc.. That backup can be used to restore your device, if needed.

I have the exact same phone as you.
I used this post to root: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rooting-oneplus-nord-2-ce-lite.4500297/

I have bricked this device (One Plus Nord CE 2 Lite) by flashing the unofficial twrp image for this device. Device bootloops in TWRP.
Previously, I had succesfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted this device by flashing the patched magisk boot.img by following the method mentioned in this post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rooting-oneplus-nord-2-ce-lite.4500297/)
How to restore the factory image and recover from this?
Any help is appreciated.

Sir, If you have patched magisk boot.img and blank vbmeta.img files on your pc used previously for rooting this device, this will save you your precious time.
Flash the files to their appropriate partitions, the device will overwrite the partitions and boot back with root access.
If you have updated the device after root and flashed magisk to inactive slot for saving root access after OTA the above method won't work.
Installed official version.
But i need twrp for this device.
Any one installed??
Sir, TWRP image available for this device is experimental, unstable and buggy.
There is a problem that occurs when you flash twrp if you are rooted.
After flashing the device bootloops into TWRP and won't boot into system OS even if it's forced to reboot.
Even without root if flashed, twrp cant flash or wipe any data.
On the screen the errors are shown in red.[failed to mount ' / ' ](Invalid Argument)
Let's wait until a stable image is available for this device in the near future.
Thank you .
I want pixel experience on nord ce 2 lte
If any one installed . Please guide me
...pixel experience doesn't work on Nord 2 CE devices ...none of the functions are compatible with this device ...I tried more than one configurations by myself ...the few things you can get working, like Contacts App or Messages App, you can manually download and install from APKmirror or other sources ...no need to "module" these little things
...I would like to change the boot animation, for example ...but to be honest, how often and how long do you see the boot up screen???
i again damaged the os.
This time every thing not working.
it boot loops to fastboot.
Any help ?? @DerDoktore
Is there any msmtool for nord ce 2 lte
...Bootloop to fastboot???? ...that is new to me ...I know the "system damaged" Screen and a traditional Bootloop ...does it "break" the loop at fastboot??? ...or do you see half a second the fastboot screen and restart and again???
