When choosing a smartphone to buy, I have noticed that one smartphone released in 2017 has Android 7 system, whereas another released in 2018 has Android 8. However, the 2017 smartphone with Android 7 seems to be more advanced technologically than the smartphone with Android 8, and it has more memory.
If I buy the 2017 smartphone with the Android 7 system, will it then be possible to install a newer version of the system? Or is each smartphone designed only for one specific version of the system?

The software on each device is specific to that model number, even if the devices are the same device(e.g. S6, S7, S8, etc..), the model number is what matters. In other words, a Verizon S7 can only flash software that is built for Verizon S7, it can't use the stock software from a Sprint or AT&T S7.
If the device has a newer stock firmware with a newer android version available for that specific model number, you can update the software to the new version, if there is not any new stock firmware updates available, you will not be able to update using stock software.
If there are custom ROMs available for your specific number that are a newer android version, you can install TWRP custom recovery then use TWRP to install the custom ROMs.

The 2017 smartphone with Android 7 was DEXP Ixion M340.
Apparently I will have to buy the 2018 smartphone in order to have the latest version of the system. Although the 2017 smartphone has twice as much RAM and camera resolution, the capacity of the battery in the first is shown to be 3,000 mAh.

The older device might have "more" RAM, but that doesn't mean much, the "amount" of RAM isn't what decides how fast the RAM performs, the clock speed of the RAM is what really matters for performance.
For example, on PC, 8GB of 1200mhz DDR 2 RAM is not as fast as 4GB of 1800mhz DDR4 RAM. Less total amount of RAM but faster clock speed.
Also, when it comes to CPUs, for example, an Intel 4th gen 2.4Ghz 4 core processor can be slower than a 7th gen 1.8Ghz 2 core processor. The older processor has a higher spec but it doesn't mean it is faster or better than the newer processor with lower specs.

I bought k30 8GB ram model and it's a large upgrade from 6GB poco f1.
But the memeui system eats 3.5GB+ ram without any apps running in the background which was usually up to 2.5GB on 6GB poco f1.
Is it because of bloatwares or weird ram management?
And the 2GB zram which is set by default, does it worth it or just waste cpu power?
Maybe because of poor optimization in k30 ROM. After configuring phone with all apps and uninstalling bloatware, i get 3.4-3.7 GB available RAM in 6 GB model poco X2(India)

Some google apps that i don't need like movies music duo etc. And third party that came pre installed forgot the names of it. But essentially all bloatwares that i could uninstall
The crazy LMK kills cached apps even there's 2.5gb available ram. wth is this.

My phone is Au's version, 12/512Gb
after clear all app, why i just have 6GB RAM available? mean the Android System take 6GB???
My old Oppo F11 pro have 6gb ram but just 2.7Gb available, mean Android take ~3Gb RAM

True .. after last update ram usage increased for no reason ..
Me and my wife have the same model/version of the X3 NFC running the same OS & MIUI 14 version. I find it odd that my phone shows I have 6.0+1.0GB of RAM while hers simply shows 6.0GB. Why the difference?
