Is it possible to make any GSI Rom for this phone,since it has only Nougat 7.1.1 stock rom.
It is great chine phone and I thought it maybe possible to make something with it.

can anybody say how to port a system to a cm-unsuportet device?
i want pac on a lenovo yoga tab 10, because there isnt any custom rom for it and the vanilla system doesnt works good enough for me.
TWRP is on the device.
a backup from the system is made, but there are only .win-data. and for now unusable for me...
its rooted.
eventually someone who can help me. i want to learn it on my own to port android

its complicated because there isnt any custom rom you can build on...
Hello everyone, I got this device about two months ago and am going to start trying to port over some roms from the redmi note 4.
I'v noticed that ROM development has been very slow recently, and even though I'm still a student its the holidays and I want this device to have a better future.

These devices have similar specs, which is one of the main reasons why I am trying to port roms from the redmi note 4 and not some other device.
I'm going to study more about custom roms, and if I may not be successful in porting one all the p2 community should give it a go as well. Everyone seems to be asking for roms and not many people bother to build/compile them.
I'll post any I find working on here as I go, and if anyone has advice/suggestions I'd be happy to take them, being new to custom roms and all.
If you guys could inform me about other devices with same cpu, screen resolution and camera specs that'd be great.
Currently the base rom I'm working on is AOSP extended v5 and the port rom is lineage os 15. I'v managed to port the boot.img over so far.
If anyone is interested on carrying on or continuing, all files will be uploaded on mega. You'll need android kitchen and other basics to continue development.
Make sure you have a device with unlocked bootloader, twrp recovery and a nanodroid backup in case anything goes wrong.
I am NOT responsible for any bricked devices, ect but I will try to help.

I'm currently attempting to port Lineage OS 15 from Redmi note 4, with base rom as AOSP Extended.
I'v ported the boot image over but can't find the "system" folder. If anyone would help with this it would be appreciated.

I myself am a "noob" at custom rom-ming, trying to follow youtube tutorials for porting roms. If anyone else with a bit more experience jumps on,
we should be able to get this finished quicker.

I'm probably messing up trying to port lineage os 15 while using AOSP extended v5.0 as base,
however you have to port roms that are the same os as your base.
You can't port a 8.0 rom with a 7.1.2 base.
Let's give a shot.
Don't expect for expert developer, because he/she can be already busy

Anyone willing to contribute can do so, I'll post updates on here as we go, don't expect
anything too soon though.
It is easy to get system dump and modify it cuz most of the files can be replaced easily by using the base rom.
Do you have any idea of creating update script and creating the final dat package? In my opinion this is the tough section i think.

I was wondering is there a custom ROM available for this phone, I searched everywhere but i cant seem to find one anywhere. If there is one i would like to know.

Don't worry, android 9 will come to a8 2018
I got it on the a8+ forums
Basically just remove the first 6 lines in meta-inf/whatever folders lol/updater-script and then flash the ROM then MCK kernel

I have already ported a version of TWRP, but it is having a bug that touch screen is not working.
Once TWRP is setup i can start working for porting custom roms.
So need a bit support.

Atlast someone is working on TWRP for Evok dual note.. I hope someone will help you fix touch issue..
TWRP is my last hope for flashing su and rooting my device.. no one click solution works for me.

i need it. I just forgotten my password but i need data so please help me .
this phone is so so unlucky because of these:
1. there is no custom rom for this phone whatsoever
2.since this phone is treble enabled it can run gsi rom but the problem is it only runs aonly variant so u can't get android 12+ and even though there is an android 11 a only variant it will not work trust me i tried all of them, also the only acceptable experience is android 10 but u can't use google apps because they will slow down the system so bad
if only android 8.1 gsi rom worked really well it will be worth the effort but ur not gonna have a good experience with it because it has a bug that makes the device reboot suddenly everytime u do something
3. even if u were able to get a great experience with a certain gsi rom u'll still lack a lot of features like face unlock,fingerprint, bad brightness, no headphone jack support and no double tap to wake (there is a way to fix the brightness and the headphonejack but that's it)
In Conclusion, if u analyse the pros and the cons of rooting this device and trying to get rid of that stupid coloros 5.2 version, then u'll see that it's not worth the effort
Let's just hope someone will make a custom rom for this phone but it's like 99% unlikely since there is no source code for it
if u have a solution to any of these problems, please don't be shy and show us the way
and if u have any questions reply to this thread and i'll reply if i know the answer

every dotos rom that i try doesn't boot it stays in Oppo and android logo screen
