Can someone explain whether process I go through on tmobile to unlock the bootloader? With the oneplus 8, I had to have 3 months paid off first and from there I could get the unlock code. Is it the same with note?
Thanks
I would also like to know that.
Hopefully someone can enlighten us on that
That was years ago particular with one plus, they don't have a say anymore with these phones.
You have to pay to get it unofficially unlocked.
Search the forums, I don't know if we're allowed to post pay for unlock link even if theyre on xda.
Also, if your phone is still sim locked and you unlock the bootloader, it will remain sim locked. Only T-Mobile can sim unlock it and if you do sim unlock after you unlock your bootloader, it will relock your bootloader and it's stuck as locked forever.
So I'd sim unlock your phone before paying to bootloader unlocking it.

Thanks coilbio,
That was helpful and appreciated.!
can you please clarify what do u mean by unlock?
If you need to unlock ur phone(network unlock) so that it can be used on any network then u can contact Tmobile to unlock your phone. You can contact Tforce on twitter to get ur phone unlocked. I was able to do that thro them.

Yawn... HTCDev does not unlock the SIM card. It unlocks the bootloader. When you put in a new card, don't expect it to magically work! There is a SIM Unlock thread in Android Development. But HTCDev doesn't unlock the SIM! That would also be illegal on HTC's part if it unlocked the phones network.

This is the thread you should read about SIM unlock.
The good news is that unlocking your bootloader is required, since you need to root your phone before you can do the SIM unlock. So your efforts were not in vain!

Is it simlocked? If it's simlocked to some network you are unable to unlock the bootloader. If you unlock the phone, you will be able to unlock the bootloader

I had several phones that were sim locked and I was unable to unlock the bootloader. After sim unlocking them I was able to unlock the bootloader. The same goes for the Xperia M2, it was locked on T-Mobile MK, after unlocking the phone I was able to unlock the bootloader.

So, I assume that if I flash a debranded firmware from Xperia M2 (My cellphone can't unlock Bootloader about the "[x]Newtork 10" is locked in SimLock) may unlock the bootloader without any troubles? Is that so? Or I'm mistaken?
If I'm correct, that'd be amazing, I'd like use other ways to personalize my phone but I can't 'cause of the stupid Bootloader xDD.
Thanks!

Debranding basically removes all the bloatware that slow your phone down. You can't sim unlock with debranding, only with special code provided by some other sim unlock sites/ebay

Exactly that. Try to enter it correctly because there is a limit on how many times you can enter to network unlock code. If it doesn't work on KitKat, downgrade it to 4.3 and enter the code. I had similar problem where I was unable to unlock on KK but on 4.3 worked fine.

Well, about that, I have a "plan", or, better said, a contract between the carrier and the cellphone, so, I must wait for two days to complete the "legal" contract. So, after that, I guess that I can unlock the device and then, unlock bootloader.
Thanks for everything!

Unlocking Xfinity S8+
Your post says they gave you the code in response to a text. Did you already have the OEM unlock opition visible in dev options? I don't even have the prompt... I wiped cache part and did factory reset, as someone suggested, but it did not appear after that (contrary to what this person said they'd experienced). So, did you unlock with some specific dial code? or did your settings>dev options have an OEM unlock prompt?

You have confused SIM (carrier) unlock with bootloader unlock. You can not unlock the bootloader on any US (snapdragon) version of the S8 and S8+.
On the other hand, you can SIM unlock with the code that Xfinity Mobile gave you. Turn off the phone, and replace the XM SIM with one from a different carrier. Boot the phone, and your device will ask for SIM unlock code.

Hi, and about the z3x Samsung tool, is possible to unlock with that program?
I know its more complicated, i have been searching and reading and found that.
I try a unlock code without success, now ask me the puk code , and the company refund my money.
And now what's my chances to unlock it?

I'm not familiar with the Z3X tool. If you're trying to carrier/SIM unlock your device, your best and possibly only option is to get your carrier to unlock it.
If you are trying to unlock your bootloader, it's not possible.

I think Xfinity is CDMA, so this is the only viable option you have.
The bootloader can't be unlocked on Motorola's website, someone on Telegram unlocked the bootloader of his Moto G7 Power he bought at AT&T, he sim unlocked it then put a MetroPCS sim card int here and unlocked the bootloader. What I'm wondering is if I get my phone sim unlocked, will it change the CID number? Will it make the bootloader unlockable? Will it change the bootloader? I've tried flashing MetroPCS firmware and Retail firmware, both times it changed the BL:MBM number on fastboot, so did that change the bootloader? I appreciate any help in advance. Thank you.
Nothing you can readily do will change the bootloader unlockability.
Someone unlocked the bootloader on AT&T Moto G7 Power yesterday, he said all he did was sim unlock the phone then he put in a Metro PCS sim card and then he unlocked the bootloader. Obviously it changed the bootloader because before that he wasn't able to unlock the bootloader. I know that Cricket, AT&T, and Verizon all keep their bootloaders to where they can't be unlocked which should be illegal especially since I bought the phone outright and I own the phone.
I haven't seen the details.
How was it SIM unlocked?
Changing the SIM should not change the code that is submitted on the website.
The details are on the Telegram group, he sim unlocked it by calling AT&T.

So an official unlock route.
That may have updated the code or Motorola's database so it pases for bootloader unlock.
What are the unofficial lock routes? Because obviously it's possible to root this phone somehow.

One way is buy an unlocked phone instead of one SIM locked to a carrier. Those can be bootloader unlocked out of the box.
Or go through the carrier. Policies vary so you should ask them. It appears from above that AT&T unlocking allows bootloader unlocking. That may not be true for all carriers.
There are 3rd party ways to remove a SIM lock, but that provably wouldn't allow for bootloader unlocking.
So has anybody been able to unlock bootloader on Cricket Moto g7?
I know a guy who can help but it cost money

Not always true. Carriers can gray out the allow bootloader unlocking option. I know Cricket did so on an E5 Supra (Plus) I have and I just got an Xfinity G7 Power & it's the same way. Even though it remains grayed out, the E5 allowed the bootloader unlock after I got the carrier code from Cricket, but then it's not on Motorola's site so it remains bootloader locked. The G7 Power was just the opposite- I paid to have it unlocked (cheaper than a month of service). I input the numbers from ADB there and got a bootloader unlock code from Motorola right away. When I tried to use it, it failed since the bootloader unlock option on the phone remains grayed out.
From what I've read here, the Metro G7 Power is the only carrier phone I've seen that is not bootloader locked by the carrier.
Hi, did the comcast phone have an unlock app on it? Who did you use for the unlock pllease?
I bought the supra today and sadly motorola website does not support it for unlock all other versions can be however I am hoping someone finds work around at least for root etc but totally want a bootloader unlock more than anything root and twrp without it I dont even really want the dang phone

Can you please share this service you paid for to unlock this phone?
Hello,
I'm seeing quite a few different "methods" or instructions for rooting. I just picked up my Oneplus 8 today with T-Mobile, it's on a payment plan if that matters for SIM unlock, etc.
What's the easiest method to rooting the device? I use Adguard and want it to run using the "root" method which is better, per their support (which is why I bought this phone). My current build (which reports up to date) is 10.5.10.IN55CB
Thanks to all in advance
P.S. Any negative effects? I'm reading mixed reports of loss of LTE/Wifi.
You can only root after sim unlocking the device. After that you would apply for an unlock token from OnePlus, and after a week you'll be able to unlock the bootloader (which will wipe your data) and then you will be able to proceed with any of the root guides posted here.
There is a sim unlock thread in the guides section here, though the person offering the free service is heavily backlogged at the moment. You may have better luck asking TMobile on Twitter for a permanent unlock, though they are very stubborn.
Once your device has been permanently unlocked, you would toggle unlock bootloader in developer options, enter fastboot and enter a command (follow the OnePlus unlock bootloader guide somewhere on Google for this)

TMobile will officially unlock it after paying it off in full (and I think be on the network for x number of days) but there have been cases where they have unlocked the device prior to it being paid off, ultimately it depends on the representative you speak to

Look on our website there is someone who can SIM Unlock for you, without you having to pay off your phone first. From there you can request from One Plus to send you your unlock bin. This is how I went about it, I was up and running with an unlocked bootloader in 1 week. Might want to donate if possible:highfive:
