Modem for Global - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

I have a T-Mobile OP8, now on global 11.0.2.2.IN21AA. Everything is running fine.
I did not flash any modem but after change to global I have poor signal. At the same location when it was full signal earlier, after flashing global it is one bar less.
Since I did not extract the original TMO modem, which modem is appropriate for me to flash?
Can someone please share their TMO modem file?
Thanks.

Don't flash MJ6 modem if you need AWS mod.

I just wanted to give out some advice to those that need the AWS mod to use your ATT S4 on Tmobile or another country carrier that uses AWS. You shouldn't flash the MJ6 modem as currently when attempting to restore the QNC file via QPST results with an error at 5% of flashing.
I'm not sure that is it possible to downgrade if you're on official MF3 but mostly likely you might with odin but this is just a piece of advice so you don't waste your time if you require AWS.

what's causing slow network speeds?

I'm running the KitKat+ ROM I found in the development section plus faux kernel, I flashed over jellybean and applied fix v2 so I'm getting no problems uninstalling apps or entering security settings. Thing is when I'm at home or even outside I get really slow network speeds of about 0.4 Mbps down, and in settings-aboutphone-status it switches between hspa and hspa+,but down the road about 350 metres at my kids school I get up to 7 Mbps down,I'm just wondering what version of the moto g is this KitKat+ rom based on,I own the UK retail version and was thinking if its based on a us version would it cause problems with connecting to a UK network or have problems with hspa+ in the UK based on what base this ROM is using, just throwing it out there.
Have you tried setting it to GSM auto (PRL) ?
My previous phone (HTC One X+) was running BlackBean rom and was set to CDMA by default, meant that i had to reset to GSM after every reboot.
I have experienced this also on a UK XT1032 running US Global GSM 4.4.2 - Data works but often slowly and stops entirely for periods of time. I had assumed it was the ROM and I'm waiting for the UK 4.4.2 stock firmware image which I expect will solve it. Perhaps unrelated, but I've noticed Opera Mini will not work over 3G in this ROM, but it works fine on Wifi.
EDIT: I was just thinking; that by fastboot flashing the Stock US firmware image, the UK modem firmware may also have been replaced. That could explain the problems. Flashing back the 4.4.2 UK modem firmware might fix it.
My Baseband version:
MSM8626BP_1032.340.63.00R
Can someone with a US Global GSM XT1032 confirm their Baseband version? Nevermind, confirmed via google. UK Tesco XT1032 running 4.4.2 also has the same Baseband version.
You could try flashing the UK stock 4.4.2 'NON-HLOS.bin' which appears to include the modem firmware. However if I remember correctly, flashing an incorrect radio firmware is one of the few ways to irrecoverably brick a handset.
Safest bet is to wait for the full UK stock 4.4.2 firmware image and fastboot flash that. In future when you flash a different ROM, i.e CM11, you are likely to use CWM/TWRP and the existing UK modem / radio firmware will remain untouched.
If someone wants to correct me on this, please do.

Weak cellular signal on g9035 in USA

Hello guys!
I live in the states and I get weak cellular signals most of the time. I have the exynos variant because i heard it has better ram management and battery. I have flashed the bootloader and modem BL_G930FXXU1BPIF and CP_G930FXXU1BPHJ and installed superman rom on it. I also flashed the csc for TMB because i use tmobile. So the problem is that I dont get good lte speed and the cellular signal is always low. Can i flash G930T modem on the exynos version or it will cause problem because G930T is the snapdragon variant?
Any help is appreciated!

I think it is only the bootloader that you have to be careful with. Try the modem - you can always ODIN back the CP above if you have issues.
PS - try this new CP/modem module - it has the new TMo LTE-A in it - over doubled my download speeds:

Come to think of it the modem may also be hardware specific, so the qualcom one will not go on your 930F.
I would search the threads here and in the US TMo threads to see which phone firmwares (by country) are working best over here on 930F/935F(I have seen some when I was considering getting a 935F or FD), and then download the full firmware and extract the CP from the one that works good and ODIN it.

Maybe you need to install the whole firmware.

930F modem for 930S

I bought 2nd SK Telecom unit (930S), which has same SoC as 930F. Is it possible to flash 930F modem to 930S? I get this issues regarding mobile network in LTE doesn't work well, I have to lock it to WCDMA in order to make network run again. I suspect this as modem issues, but is it? Or is this OS problem? Tried 3 carriers, problem persists.
While they are the same SoC, there are some differences that will make flashing G930F over G930S result in bootlooping.
I assume you're not in South Korea?
The firmware will be configuring for Korean carrier / networks. Your best bet would be flashing TWRP, then using this to change your device to your carriers CSC https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/utility-flashable-csc-selection-30-t3392957

It could be the stock ROM on there (with sk apps). When I bought mine I immediately flashed TWRP, NAND backup and flashed a custom TW ROM and had zero network issues. I never bothered seeing if the stock ROM was worth using. I'm using BlackPearl with zero problems with network or otherwise on AT&T.
I should clarify many custom ROM's work on goth 930F and 930S, but stock 930F images will bootloop a 930S.
hello, im using g930s too with g930s stock bootloader and baseband/modem. but with hyper alvi 4.1 rom. still got problem in 4G mobile network signal. should i try to change csc or modem file? i think the csc was from wrong country, could that be the culprit? thanks guys

Is it possible to flash the modem from a cell phone?

Hello.
Looking on the internet I found out that flashing a ROM does not delete the carrier lock, they say one needs to flash the device´s modem in order to delete the carrier lock, But I can´t find the flashing drive for the modem anywhere, I have a LG STYLO 5 (LM-Q720CS) with the company CRICKET. Is there a way to flash the modem in my phone model?
