I want to buy a verizon or sprint CDMA android smart phone that can work in India. Do they work at all? If so do I need a SIM unlock. I know gsm phones in USA require SIM unlock this is the first time I am dealing with CDMA.
I want to buy a samsung or LG CDMA(Verizon or Sprint) phone in USA and want to use it with TATA Indicom in India. Thanks in advance for the help.
Getting jio signal but not registering on network
"Your sim doesn't allow connection to this network "
I installed HTC phone.apk (v 8) from apk mirror..
(By installing this I lost control over second sim but got option to select LTE in menu )
And settings (v8) from apk mirror ..
I was using reliance 4g sim ..(not jio)
After searching networks manually
I got jio but didn't got register
Any help
Will I get jio network if I use jio sim instead of reliance

I installed HTC phone apk v8
Restarted phone
And selected GSM/WCDMA/LTE in mobile network
I got jio network (not registered though)
Now I got jio sim but I'm not getting network..
Really pissed off
I think there is some kind of lock protecting to get 4g on this
HTC messed up with CDMA and LTE
Because when u select LTE only it switches slot to CDMA and we cannot scan network manually
Modding phone apk to disable CDMA may work I guess

Tried alot to get jio sim working.. Got the sim generating bar code somehow many tricks are given, sim is activated already got the message on registered number,but still unable to get any signal for JIO, Thing is HTC has done such cruelty by locking the 4G LTE, dnt know why they do it.. Same thing with my Sony Xperia ZL, In India they lock the 4G, WTF why they do it !?

No 4g and No developers for this phone to solve this issue
I would have believed HTC that phone is 3g only as they are saying ...but I got jio network once accidentally by procedure mention above

Iam rithik i bought lg g4 verizon vs986 11a software in u.s.a and i brought it to india here only 3g sims and 2g sims are working. When i tried to insert 4g sim it doest not allow to to show signal instead it is asking for verizon code. I have rooted my device still this problem continueing. I have consulted many mobile technicians but this was of no use . So please help to to unlock verizon g4 vs986 to support all 4g carriers world wide.

Greetings and welcome to assist. Unfortunately I am not certain this is possible, verizon uses different frequencies and if the hardware doesn't support it then you can not unlock it. You could try this and see if it helps though

Hi, I bought the Samsung S8 US Unlocked version from Bestbuy in US. I recently moved to India and when I tried Airtel or Jio Sim, I dont get the network and not able to place voice calls. However when I goto Network selection am able to see the right network selected (respectively for whick network's sim I used).
Can I use an US Unlocked S8 in India? If so, how to make it work. Am stuck, please help!!
Edit: 4g LTE is working, but not the calls. If I have the sim put in another phone, able to make calls. Not sure whats wrong in S8 with placing the calls when 4G LTE is working??

I am currently using an u.s.a variant s22 ultra on xaa csc....I own a jio Sim card and jio 5g services are available in my city but my s22 ultra is not getting 5g connection....previously I owned an airplane Sim card and 5g was working on airtel but not on jio Sim card.
I tried unlocking all the bands using *#73# code but 5g is not working for jio sim...
I want to know is there any band lock problem for u.s.a variant that my 5g on jio is not working?

Its not showing in the app....says your device is not 5g compatible
I am having the same issue in the Hongkong variant s9080 s22 ultra in India,i havnt tried with airtel sim but jio even after activating jio welcome offer is stating that i need to buy a new phone cos mine is 4g

I am also getting same error in jio app saying you are using a 4g device please upgrade to 5g device....
I have tried with airtel it works fine with airtel
I guess 5g bands used by jio are SA and they might be still locked in our device that's why this issue is comming

You won't get welcome offer without an Indian device, get the welcome offer by putting your sim in an Indian device for 24-48 hrs. Once you get it then try in this phone.

Ok update.
I tried my sim on a mi11t. And i13 mini.
Welcome offer will get activated after confirmation messages come. But doesn't activate yet.
Then i tried an already activated 5g sim in my u1. Jio. 200mbps. So confirmation that it supports jio 5g. Just activation process we need to crack.
So i think i would need a day or 2 with the 5g phone to activate and then wait for the signal on that device. Then swap to this.
For now i don't hv another 5g device. So nothing much i can do . Except wait.

I have inserted my jio sim in my nothing phone 1 today trying the same trick to unlock the welcome offer....now lets see after 48 hours what will happen
Just a quick update my 5g has been enabled on my jio sim card by putting it in another 5g compatible device for roughly 24-36 hours....
Now using it in my s22 ultra

Glad it worked for you, so what is the speed you are getting and is 5G symbol showing up.

It still shows Volte1, are you sure that the speedtest is from the mobile data? I see your wifi is also turned on.
I have S23 Ultra and I am facing same issue.
If I place my other Jio 5G activated card, 5 G symbol is not coming up.
