That usually appears when you long press shutdown or reboot buttons. If you just touch them, that dialogue should'nt appear.

no need to take battery out of phone .

Ive noticed lots of people taking their battery out of their precious sensations , to go into bootloader or that seemingly pointless SAFE MODE .
there is absolutely no need to do that !!
you can :
turn off "Fast Boot" under settings->power and the phone will power off.
OR if you like the fast boot use the restart option ,but remember it turns it on again, right away.
so restart the device and for bootloader just press VOL down , after its off.
and to go to that safe mode, wait for the phone to turn on again, and press VOL down
take care of your phones..
thanks Elvis_Freshly for your notes. you're right, we're cool.

so lets make it clear for those who missed it:
-the power off is like hibernation in windows, it doesnt really shuts your phone off.
-the restart option does, but it turns it on again, right away.
so restart the device:
for bootloader just press VOL down , after its off.

Actually all they have to do is turn off "Fast Boot" and the phone will power off.
Fast boot is what causes the phone to "sleep".
There is no need for bolding your post, as your information is semi-inaccurate in itself.
I know you meant to be helpful but it came across as rude and like they're stupid.
but its crazy to take the battery out every time, and people are doing it.

[Q] Strange boot loop problem

So, yesterday my phone kept turning itself off for no apparent reason and then it would start vibrating constantly. I would take the battery out and restart the phone as normal and it would work. Later on, it shut off completely and did the same thing it had done for most of the day so I tried restarting it again like I had been doing. However, this time it would load the loading screen and get no further than it saying the model number before it turned off again and started vibrating. Before this time the phone would at least stay on for 10-15 minutes. I kept trying what I had been doing all day with no luck of it getting any further than the loading screen. If I put the battery in, it would immediately start up and then turn itself off and start vibrating again which it shouldn't do because I'd need to turn the phone on for it to load up. I looked up what the problem might be and people were saying to reboot the phone. I managed to get the recovery screen up for about 3 seconds before it turned off and started vibrating with a black screen again. Now the phone doesn't boot up/turn on at all if the battery is in. However if the battery is out and the phone is plugged into charge, then it would start up with the same problem as earlier. I would like to get to recovery to be able to either hard reset or flash a new rom, however, the phone will not boot into recovery, instead it will just turn it'self off again. The phone is not in usb debugging mode so I am unable to flash the phone via a third party software. Any help would be much appreciated as the phone is currently completely unusable.
Thank you.
check your power button ,it might be damaged...!!
No it's definitely not that because I could use it for get into recovery (even though it was for just a second, not long enough to be able to do anything). I have no idea what the problem could be.

that is the idea, if the power button is blocked you can enter recovery just for a sex then it reboots,
when you put the battery on it turns on?
Yes, it used to turn on straight away when the battery was inserted but this isn't happening now. Probably time for a new phone.

if it isnt happening now its because you have no more battery left
you can fix it to a service, its not so expensive

I have the same problem right now after a failed flash. So I would suppose it is not a stuck power button... I can't even get to recovery by the way....

I could get to download mode (for about 6 seconds)
After a lot of trying I suppose it must be the power button, as you suggested. I even succeded in installing a stock rom (by pressing the power button in the download mode every seconds or two)...
Seems strange though. I suppose pressing the power button to get into the download and recovery mode gets it stuck....
Thanks for your suggestion though. I will bring the smartphone to a store tomorrow and see if they can get it fixed.

[Q] How to shut this thing off(one S villeC2)?

This might be the stupidest quetsion ever but, I'm totally helpless.
I need to access the recovery, I flashed a rom which stucks at the boot screen, I need to flash another yet I cannot shut this thing of. I keep pressing the power button for 10secs, 3buttons starts to flash and screen goes dark. When I let it go, it restarts.
How can I power of this device without accessing the OS?

Hold it until the buttons stop flashing, about 20 seconds.

I keep pushing the button for way longer than that. Still it reboots.
Take a look

[Q] Issue with phone.

Ok. I am writing here since it was suggested. I am having a major issue and unsure how to fix it. The following is the issue and steps taken thus far with no resolve. Hopefully someone else has an answer to assist me. I really need this phone to work as it is my lifeline.
Star is I have all updated firmware, rom, and even updated xtended settings. I have today also installed the viper sound for the first time. I will say I have settings changed throughout with all the variations. Xtended settings, nusense toolbox, vipersound, normal settings, and Xposed framework.
What is happening is the phone needed a reboot. It shows the splashscreen and then shuts off. It will not fully boot. I have tried to hold the power vol/up buttons together and quickly vol/down. But that does not work. Now I have also tried adb and attempted to find the device but with no power seemingly it is not able to work.
Anyone have suggestions I might try? Please advise.I have even attempted adb but the pc does not see the device since it never gets fully turned on. It is a splashscreen and then dead. Really wish there was a way to get it to just turn on for access somehow. Anyone have a suggestion?
Have you tried holding the power button and up button till you get into fastboot?

I have actually held the button where it will only show the splashscreen and then show a bit of the TWRP recovery screen. However I cannot pick anything from the menu before it goes to the battery icon showing it is simply charging. I really have no clue what is needed to be done now. I am surprised it has let me get that far without just turning off again. But this was done by holding the volume button up and down and power button all at the same time.
Do you have any other suggestions since it is not being seen by adb on the pc?

Unplug your phone. Then hold power and volume up for 30 seconds. Plugged in you are hitting the twrp bug.
Edit... After unplugging wait 20 seconds before attempting to boot it.

[Q] Help: Oneplus One in a bootloop, no antennas working

Hi all,
I woke up this morning to the phone powered off, which is not how I left it. I turned it on and none of the antennas were working (no wifi, no bluetooth and no cellular, also the home and menu buttons were not working). I rebooted the phone thinking that would solve the issue and now it's stuck in a bootloop.
What should I do? Usually I would pull the battery but that's not an option here.
Sheik
Hold the power key and when it powers off, let go and instantly hold it again along with the volume up key (I think that's the one for fast boot) and restore with the fast boot zip.

You might want to provide a bit more information if you're going to attempt to help somebody, that post is pretty vague.

Section 8 is what you're looking for. In order to get the phone into fastboot mode you'll need to hold power + volume up while it's attempting to boot.
