Hello everyone,
as I am about to unlock my bootloader there are few questions on my mind, I am currently on 12.0.7.0 QJGEUXM:
after unlocking the bootloader, should I flash TWRP asap and backup my persist partition?
As I understand, to pass SafetyNet I need to use this guide (I'm not planning on flashing another ROM yet) [GUIDE] How to Pass SafetyNet on Xiaomi.eu | XDA Developers Forums (xda-developers.com)
does it automatically mean I will keep my L1 certification to watch Netflix in 1080p? Do Google Pay and Pokemon GO work with Magisk Hide?
Thanks for answers

You had asked: "does it automatically mean I will keep my L1 certification to watch Netflix in 1080p? Do Google Pay and Pokemon GO work with Magisk Hide?"
So what are the answers? Did you keep L1 certification? Hires netflix and whatnot? Pokenmon GO?

Yes, I kept the L1 (did a backup of the partition to be safe), Netflix works and Pokemon Go works too with Magisk Hide.

Just a reminder if you unlock bootloader which is necessary for root you can't play hd content on Amazon and Netflix.i didn't know this before I unlocked mine bootloader.
Unlocking and relocking require full wipe.

Hello,
Netflix and mycanal applications require Widevine L1 DRM. The widevine DRM is installed by the manufacturer because it requires a google signature.
What are the workarounds for the mate 30pro ?
Thanks
Netflix 3.16.6 version

there is a nodded build of Netflix with removed widewine, a google search will suffice, it's on github and I've been using it since launch
Everyone knows that our Poco does not support Windevine L1 with Netflix by default. I tried tweaks and modified Netflix HD apk versions, but none of them worked for me. I created some props that actually spoof our device. I can now watch Netflix in HD without breaking face unlock. You need to use Magisk to flash this.
The only disadvantage is that Amazon Prime HD playback will not work.
This was tested on Pixel Experience, Evolution X, Paranoid Android, AEX, and a few other roms. I've attached a screenshot from the Netflix app demonstrating full HD and HDR support. For this to work, your phone must be on L1. Installing the DRM info app from the Playstore will allow you to see which version Widevine security level your phone display. If it displays L1 but does not play FHD or HD, you must flash the stock Miui rom and download the Widevine L1 Certificate. If you are certain that your phone has L1, you may proceed with the installation.
Please be aware that this may not work on all roms and that in some roms it may cause bootloops; I am not liable for any damages you cause. Make a backup before flashing this module.
Modules can be downloaded from
https://github.com/cyberelon/device-spoof/releases
UPDATE: This module is no longer functional; Poco must fix their drm l1 licencing in order for this module to function.
Thanks for your hardwork. Can you tell us what files to flash ?
Why do you need miui? ? Vendor, firmware what file has that widevine? ? I don't want to format my phone for widevine..

You can flash any device spoof module from GitHub I mentioned in the post. I recommend using Pixel 3a xl (bonito) or pixel 4xl (coral). Sorry for late reply tho I'm not active on XDA.

You completely lost L1 certification from device? You can try flashing persist to get l1 back, but I recommend flashing stock miui and adding certificate from under fingerprint payment section.

Your phone must be on L1 for this to work. You can check which version Widevine security level your phone shows by installing DRM info app from Playstore. If it's showing L1 and doesn't play FHD or HD then you have to flash stock Miui rom, download widevine L1 Certificate, If you're sure that your phone have L1 and you can proceed with the installation.

If widevine L1 isn't present in your current rom this module won't work. Please contact your rom maintainer.
Thnx for the tip. It does work.
Although when using the pixel props config it detects the phone as HDR capable and tries to play everything in HDR which doesn't look good.
Any prop which allows hd playback but doesn't allow HDR?

You can try using bonito props
I tested it on Crdroid, Havoc, Pixel Experience, Evolution X roms
Both DRM INFO and NETFLIX were displaying L1, but it doesn't work, so I downloaded the widevine L1 certificate from miui, and I also installed the DRM module but it still doesn't work
HD is displayed to the right of the movie title, but in the test patterns it was up to 540p. You need to check the test patterns
L1 has not been renewed for poco F1. I don't think there is any way we can get it working

I know everyone use test pattern to check what's the max resolution their phone can stream from Netflix, But current the problem here is poco itself, they never renewed drm l1 license. This module was working before drm issue actually came into play (before November 2020 to be precise)

Yea there is no way to stream hd content from Netflix or Amazon prime without poco themselves fixing the licence.

Stock rom J716F only plays HD because L1 certification but no support HDR and Dolby. But if you rooted with magisk, you can change the device fingerprint from J716F to any devices. For example, I tried to change to device fingerprint Samsung Tab S8+ and install netflix. The netflix managed to play hdr but with L3 certification, standard definition. If there is magisk module that can spoof L1 certification like Oneplus and Xiaomi that would be good. To change device fingerprint, I could not remember the module. However the cons is it would broke the face unlock, in my experience.
I don't need the face unlock..... just want HDR... but again, breaking L1 cert, it means no FHD right ?

Yes, no HD only HDR. But still awful quality. I don't know how to register/import J706F device fingerprint which can spoof device id and deliver dolby vision via netflix.

I will continue checking to se if this changes, so far I'm L1, it would be good to check with others to try to diagnose why you are L3. Could it be related with other apps that you have also installed? I don't know.

Netflix beta releases tend to change the level to L3, but stable releases stay on L1. Check if it's the problem for you too.
I have the same issue on my S23Ultra, non-rooted with OEM Unlock not even available in Developer Options. I'm also not on Netflix Beta.
I'm sure I've had this issue before though, either on my previous S22Ultra or my Note9, I'm sure I posted on XDA about it too...
Edit: Just checked my posts and nope, my S9080 S22Ultra had L1.
Further edit: Rebooted my phone, uninstalled Netflix and reinstalled and I have L1 again.
I read another post somewhere that said L1 returned for them after a Play System update so that might be worth checking.
