Changed google password. - Huawei P40 Pro Questions & Answers

As the title says, i have changed google password on my tablet, and since I am logged with same account on my P40 pro, it automatically popped up "account action required" on my phone.
I have downgraded to .131 long time ago, installed google play services and updated to .176. Is there a way to "log in" again without completely wiping my phone?
When I log in right now, it just sends me to main screen but notification doesn't go away as in, I didn't log in.
Thanks in advance.

How did you install the play services? if you used googlifyer and its still on your device, you can simply use that to uninstall all the google components and then re-install them.

So long as googlifyer was on when you upgraded it should be fine.
Ive got EMUI 11 - Chinese G doesnt work anymore, but googlifyer sucessfully stripped and reinstalled all the google play framework etc... for me on the weekend.

If you have problems after Google password changes, use this tutorial ... it works, I used it successfully.
Usually, the upgrade of EMUI keeps GMS without problems.

Thank you very much for your message. I don't have EMUI 11. I still have EMUI 10 on *.174 version. Googlefier application is here but once i run it, it asks for me to uninstall updated backup and install old in order to be able to install chinese G application. I can't pass that step unfortunately. However thanks for your help.

Thanks for your input and help. I checked this video but however this video didn't help me. EMUI there he has is *.154 and microG won't login unfortunately for me. I know how everything goes, but i want to try to avoid wiping my phone.

I have installed YouTube Vanced and MicroG on P40 pro (with GMS, older method, not Googlefier) and Mate40 pro (without GMS).
On P40 pro I was on .176, if I'm not mistaken ... (before to upgrade on EMUI 11).
Install Vanced manager, MicroG first, then YouTube Vanced (very important), don't open nothing, on MicroG settings uncheck Google Cloud Messaging, then Google device registration (in this order), open YouTube Vanced and login with your gmail ... (I guess it's about Vanced, not normal MicroG).

After second try, this worked for me magically, you are the man! Thank you very very much!
What I did is: delete google play services and follow guide on this video from minute 07:10. Followed the guide and this time works like a charm.

I'm glad I was able to help.
All that matters is to follow the steps exactly.

Google Play Store on Chinese OP 7 Pro?

So my OnePlus 7 Pro arrived today and I'm having problems with getting Play Store working on my phone. Apparently there already have been google services on my phone, thanks to what I could install gmail or google chrome and use them without problems, however there's no playstore. Before, I used to download google package installer from Chinese app market but this time it shows as if I already had everything installed which is strange.
So I downloaded apk for the playstore from the internet which apparently broke my apps using google play services and had to factory reset phone and I'm not sure how to get it working.
Has anyone dealt with it?

I'm not sure if I'll be asked to log into my google immediately after reboot. And I wouldn't be able to do it without setting a vpn connection. So I don't want to end up with useless phone till I leave China.
I'm not sure if that google verification or connection at least is needed to correct me if I'm wrong

Hi! I am fighting with this issue for over a week now
You can change Oxygen to Hydrogen Global version to remove Google Services lock
[simply by downloading global version from the OP website and installing it through the local upgrade],
but it comes with the price:
Text Messages are not graphical anymore
No Spam/Advert calls warnings
There's no access to the OP Market which is quite essential if you're living in China
So it seems like there is no way to have everything from the both words in one phone...?
ps: Greetings from GZ
Apkpure
Hi,
I just bought a OP7 (not pro) from JD.com and just realized as well there was no Play store.
Actually I was able to download it from m.apkpure.com and it worked like a charm (of course VPN required). Hope it works for you too.
Cheers,

After using your walkthrough on YouTube I can use Google play store, however, I no longer get notifications for anything at all. Only thing I get is a few Gmail email notifications then after that nothing. It's like it fails push notifications after the first few Gmail ones it pushes.
Needless to say, an OS that doesn't push notifications on a phone is not usable. Any ideas?

I see. Well, when the notification was occurring for me, I just dragged the message to the left in the notification pane and said disable notifications. Is that not possible? Can I just disable the notification and still be able to use Google play? Like, stop the process at step 7 or 8, disable notifications on just play store issues and then let it be?

Any one knows why lz-play is not working at P40 Lite 5G?
I used to have my Google working on my Huawei perfectly, until I accidentally pressed the wrong button and all was uninstalled.
Now I had tried your method a few times. But every time I got stucked at the same part, where we were to add the Google accounts.
When I try to add the existing Google account, it always show Google connection error. Cannot connect to Google server. I tried restarting and force stopping or anything, I still cannot go pass this step. Cannot add Google account.
Can somebody tell me or teach me? If anyone had this problem and had solved it.

Sorry if it was explained elsewhere, but I really couldn't find it:
I managed to install GMS. Is there anything I should avoid (other than deleting google account or reseting the phone) to keep it running?
For example:
- Can I safely update any apps or services or will updating a Google Store or something mess everything up?
- Are there any apps I should avoid, eg. some security, system management or antivirus apps?
Yes many apk notifications doesent work. Stopping google framework and reboot phone will enable notifications back but u cant use play store. So use aurora.

Can I install microG along with GMS?

Hi guys
I just got huawei p40 pro today and installed GMS manually. My discord doesn't produce any notifications. Can I install microG alongside GMS to get it working?
Thanks
i think you have to icebox your GMS to get notifications .. search some other threads here

Yes you can.
When I got my P40 Pro I installed Micro-G just for YouTube Vanced. A week later I decided to install GMS and kept the Micro-G on the device. No issues found after combining Micro-G with GMS whatsoever.
BTW I didn't try to install the official YouTube app as I'm more satisfied with Vanced.
Does Micro-G help purely for notifications or could it help apps that require Google services to work?

No, Micro-G will not allow you to run Google-Dependant apps. You need to install GMS for that. Which is very easy in case you are curious.
I can't install microG, it says I already have the latest version. The only thing I did was installing Google services and play store.
What should I do to get push notifications working? My banking app relies on firebase ?

For the Micro-G issues I honestly don't know. For me I installed Micro-G first and then GMS. But I remember when I tried to install YouTube Vanced it didnt run, meaning that Micro-G installation was not successful. I seached the web and the solution was deleting Mkcro-G and then installing SAI (Split APKs Installer) from APK-Pure and then re-installing Micro-G. Then YouTube Vanced worked so I know now that Micro-G is working fine. ----> try this it may work.
For your second issue about the push notifications, Firebase is a Google-Cloud massaging service. And it will have the same problem as other Google push notifications such as Gmail. There is a solution on xda I previously read but I can't find the thread. Try searching it.

Options:
HMS-naked (broken notifications on heaps of apps even Huawei App Gallery)
HMS+microG (for notifications with google firebase cloud messaging)
HMS+GMS (notifications broken)
HMS+GMS+icebox (freeze google play store as required for notifications and unfreeze intermittently for updating apps)
I think it is called icebox (just from memory .. or something similar) .. just search in the recent threads and you will find the process to freeze & unfreeze GMS to get notifications working.
This is awesome explanation. Thank you so much, I will have a look tonight
I just found out icebox requires all my account to be removed first. I will wait this weekend first
My understanding is
1. Install Icebox before you put anything. It requires ADB and you need to remove your Google Accounts beforehand.
2. Install GMS
3. Disable GMS with Icebox
4. Install MicroG
5. Install all the apps that you want. Make sure you have microG first before installing apps

can you post the link to this new process?
are you developing something new .. i have never heard of this combination before ...
HMS+GMS+Icebox+microG
why install microG if you are using GMS+Icebox? the purpose of Icebox is to give notifications, then you dont need microG.
if you really want the google play store, I really wouldn't bother with the P40 Pro.

No I'm not developing anything new ? I'm trying to get the best of both worlds.
This GMS installation mod seems to be using microG underneath bcuz I got the message from the official microG app that my microG is already the latest version. I got the Vanced microG version installed without any need for icebox. But push notifications still doesn't work.

All good guys. Thanks, yeah MicroG vanced version didn't help me with my push notification issue.
but linux2525 pointed me to the right direction
1. HMS + GMS + Icebox. <-- At least I got my Banking app working now with Google Push notification. I think the next time I reset my PC, I would go with HMS + MicroG instead. I dont play games and mostly just Youtube, Spotify and Instagram only.
Also my whatsapp Google Drive backup still working with this combination *I'm backing up 3GB to my drive

just out of interest .. which apps were those? i am curious to test on my p40 pro.
YouTube Music (technically works but can't seem to add an account)
The Atheltic
Paddy Power
Betfair
eBay
There were some others as well but can't think off the top of my head. Some of those I can use the websites instead of apps but often they aren't as user friendly.
YTMusic .. works great on firefox preview .. except a major problem .. cannot download.
eBay is not great in browser

Huawei P40 Pro Barclays (UK)

Hi All,
I have gotten a p40 pro a few days ago (EMUI 11), and need the Barclays app functioning for their code generator. I can't install the app through APKs, I get the shared directory error. I found a thread containing a fix in this forum, but unfortunately it doesn't work on my device (I think it's because I'm on EMUI 11 which is more recent, URL of the fix : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/shared-directory-error-fix.4048319/ )
Also tried Gspace and dualspace, no luck there either. Did anyone manage to get Barclays working on their p40 pro?
Sorry can't really comment on the barclays app specifically but I manage to get the natwest one running via dualspace. What I find tho is It will stop working if I load to many apps into dual space, so I basically use dual space for only a couple of apps. That seems to give me more days usage before it eventually all stops and I have to reinstall dualspace and apps. Also find with dualspace and natwest app will never install straight away need to leave it pending download for couple of days before eventuality installs Where as say hangouts will always install each time straight away.

This is the best video for Installation. Download it and watch it at the same time you are installing.
If it fails then use the broom icon and to clean up then Start again this time you don't need to Install backup so start Video after the backup and try again. Then use
Don't freeze Google Frame. With these 2 videos you should have everything working
here is fix for Notification
You can check that your notification are working or not by installing Push Notification tester

So you use it for Barclays banking? It says it's a virtual machine, I'm wondering if this is secure or if your info is getting collected
Hi,
okay, I have to wait now until I get my Barclay card.
So far I have only installed the app.
When I start the app, it remains
it stops immediately in the first screen.
When I launch the app in vmos, the app runs right through to the login screen.
So I suspect that the app would continue to work.
I can only check this next week when I receive my login data from barclay.
I will report it then.
So long I ask for patience.
Sorry if I should have awakened false hopes.

in the case of lidl plus app,
here i saw today that there was an update of this app in the aurora store.
after this update now lidl plus app works normally on my phone. without vmos.
now i am only missing the satellite app.
This only works with vmos, dual space and gspace.

Hey, I believe Lidl Plus is offered on the AppGallery (pretty sure I saw it, though I don't use it as I don't have a Lidl nearby).
Barclays mail support is frustrating tbh, I mailed them to ask when they're planning to support HMS devices, they asked me to send photos of the error I get when I try to install, I did that and then they ghosted me...
Yes, Lidl app does, but not Lidl Plus app.
Your problem with the Barclay app may be different from mine.
I have a P40 lite 5G and have EMUI 10.
For me, the app starts and stops at the first screen.
with vmos the app goes to the login screen.
as you describe it, the app does not start at all on your phone.
so I suspect you have a completely different reason for the not working.
the way you write, you can't even install the barclay app on your phone.
that was no problem for me.
I installed the barclay app from the aurora store.
please try this out.
if that doesn't work, then your problem is different from mine.

But if you have a phone you can clone from that might work... I know I had problems with the NatWest app until push messaging was working after gms install...

Huawei P40 Lite / JNY-LX1 - Google Services problem

Hello, excuse me posting this wall of text but I have some problems with my P40 Lite / JNY-LX1. Let me explain to you how all problems started:
- I have bought the phone with some firmware, I think it was emui11 or so (I can't remember the exact version), almost 2 years ago. To install Google Play Services, I had to rollback to 10.0.1.167. Everything worked perfectly, done with HiSuite back then, the install of GPS was done with Googlefier app, everything worked from the first try, notifications and all apps. Even the updates to G.P. Services and G.P. Store were up to date to the latest versions, even the firmware was to the latest 12.0.0.237 (emui12). Time passed by till 4 days ago when I had to change my Google Account password, I did that on my Desktop. Now using the phone became a mess because google logged me out of my account requesting the new password. When I tried to log back in the account the app would crash or throw out errors like Can't reach google servers or something like that.
- The first tought of it was to downgrade again to 10.0.1.167. For the beginning I had to use HiSuite to downgrade to 10.1.0.399, then I had to use the dload otg cable method cause the install won't proceed. Everything fine, downgraded to 167 with success.
- Installed again the Googlefier app downloaded from apkmirror and proceed to install GPServices. Somehow I managed to install it by using the ictfix method, managed to get rid of the errors. But now, the Google Play Store and the Google Play Services would update themselves to the latest versions after a few hours (10hrs or so) which makes them show the all time "This device isn't Play Protect certified". To solve this error I have to reinstall the GPServices app and GPStore again.
-I tried to do it with airplane mode on, internet off, different versions of the GPServices app, with the "Auto-Update apps - Don't update apps" settings in the store checked in, but still after a few hours the apps update themselves to the latest versions.
-- Apologies for making you read this wall of text but I wanted to make sure you understand my problems. Now my question is: Does anybody know a solution for this problem? Something to stop the apps updating to the latest versions? I have to say that this thing happens even if stay on 167 or if I upgrade to emui12.
Many thanks to all of you who took from their times to read this !!
I had the same issue with the This device isnt play protect certified, i basically used the newest ictfix.net method to get rid of it, its basically a mix of Google Play Services Apks and a mix of erasing google play apps data to make it work..
https://ictfix.net/google-for-huawei/ go to this link and select /5/9/2022/ APKCOMBO. Follow this tutorial.

I did this but it comes up again after 24hrs or so. The only fix i have figured out is to use an older version of google play services, this way it won't update itself back to the newest that shows up device is not certified. The only problem i have with it is that instagram message notification won't show up, and push notifications for ig and some other apps not all, come up with delay.
