Delayed notifications - OnePlus 8T Questions & Answers

I'm having an issue with delayed notifications that don't pop up until I unlock my 8T on T-Mobile. I'm excluding some main apps from battery optimizations, but are there any services I should exclude as well?

How did you install the apps? Did you restore them from backup solutions like Titanium?

Custom ROM breaks Push Notifications

I for the life of me can not figure out why my push notifications do not work when running custom roms. I have tried everything in the book. Clean installs/different kernels/different modems/different modems/new sim card/new google account. I have also tried a custom kernel on the stock rom and that didn't seem to work so I'm left to believe something with a custom kernel is breaking the notifications. Anybody have any ideas why this is happening?

I have also done that, this was another problem before the current one, but after doing this the backups appear but when I try to restore them, it force closes unexpectedly

I have the same problem. running M preview 3 with Hellscore kernel. You can install the app via the play store and use TB to restore data. It is a pain but at least you get your app and data back.

So you say that if I install every app individually and then use Titanium Backup only to restore the data of the apps, it will work?

Rooted Android Oreo - Play Store Payment Crash

Hey folks, I'm currently on the official Android Oreo build with root and noticed, that whenever I want to buy an app the play store crashes. Anyone experienced something similar?

Yes. Unrooted and it crashes with purchases. Tried wiping cache and data for play store. Thinking of doing a factory reset. On Pixel XL.

I had something similar in the past couple of days. Try searching Google on play store and then have a look at any Google apps that need updating, particularly Android system Web view

That is the culprit. Try wiping data and cache in app. Or maybe uninstalling it and reinstalling straight away? I was able to enable it so just suggestions here. Keep trying.

Maybe a coincidence then. Have you tried logging out of your Google account? Or wiping all your account settings and logging in again?

No success again. Is there a way to remove root on the Oreo builds? Couldn't find anything since this topic is pretty new at all. Will fastboot flashing the boot img from the Oreo build be sufficient?

There's nothing wrong with your web view. It's that way by design. It has been since Nougat. By default Nougat and Oreo use Chrome instead of Android System WebView. That's why you can't enable it right now. You can change it so it uses WebView instead in developer options.
Google explains how Chrome will become WebView in Android 7.0

Ever find a solution? I haven't had a chance to factory reset yet, will likely do so this weekend unless an alternative solution exists.

Did a factory reset, didn't help though. Had to reflash the Oreo image. Rooted again and play store works fine now.

removng apps

So updated to 8.1 stock Oreo with Magisk installed and for the life of me I can't get rid of the stock apps such as chrome, I delete them with Titanium Backup , or system remover but they still remain in my list of apps on screen

Question Apps not working S22 Ultra

I've noticed some apps just crash as soon as I open them. Is this is phone issue or a software issue? Anyone know?

Clean data.... for sure you have restored from your older phone
What apps? As the previous poster was asking, did you restore from a previous phone? If so, that'll cause problems.
