For some reason my google feed stops working. I swipe to the left and nothing happens. I have to reboot phone to get it working. Anyone know how to fix this issue?
Same with me. I have reinstalled Nova's google companion and toggled it on and off in Nova's setting but only a reboot will get it back. It does tend to last the whole day though. Nova Launcher is releasing an update soon so hopefully it will address the issue.
Nova Launcher 7 Update is Here and It's Huge
The developers behind Nova Launcher had a last minute surprise up their sleeves just prior to 2020 ending. In a somewhat limited beta release, Nova Launcher 7 is here and it’s a pretty major update. First posted a couple of days ago and updated several times since, Nova Launcher 7 beta has been...

Yeah, it’s broken on my Note too. The companion app has not been updated for a long time too so I am not confident it will get fixed quickly.
I have moved to Lawnchair recently, works really well.

Is this issue /error, on Android 11 or Android 10.?
I am currently still on Android 10 an have Nova Prime
v 6.2.18 installed.
Nova Google Companion is working fine for me ?
No issues so far.
However, about - + 3 weeks ago, i had similar
issue, when by swiping from left, Google Companion would not work./appear.
I eventually uninstalled Nova Google Companion app, downloaded Nova Google Companion , (think it was from Apkmirror site) again and re install.
Working fine since then.
I have experienced this problem also. The way I fix it is to clear app data for the Google app and then restart Nova Launcher. However the issue has come back a few times. I also noticed the search bar is missing in Discover, I emailed Nova support about the problem but was told it was Google's problem ask them to fix it . I've been looking for a replacement for Nova but nothing compares.

I am glad I stumbled upon this post and your solution as this seems to have resolved the problem of Google Discover not showing up on swiping the left edge of my device Many thanks mate

Yeah, I used it for awhile. It has some nice features but it wasn't for me.
Been using Android 11 since the 1st beta, and it worked fine. Last update it stopped working, however :-(

Sometimes when I unlock my phone, a random app opens. Anyone else have this issue?
I did on my Note 3 whenever on a TouchWiz rom, but so far not on the note 5. Never could figure out what caused it because it didn't happen at all when i was on CM.

I have this issue too. Sometimes the calendar app is open when I unlock the phone. I'm running Thrash Lite ROM with arter 4.3 kernel. I just thought it was me. Doesn't really bother me.
YES, multiple times per day. I think it started happening after the last update for me. It's really freaking annoying. I'm on stock, not rooted, and running Nova. It seems to always be an app that's on the home screen, even if my finger is nowhere near it.

I wonder if it is a Nova issue? I use Nova as well
Nah, I don't use Nova and have that issue. I'm on stock non rooted with Google Now launcher.
This happened to me while I was on my note 3. Someone pointed me to this app in the play store that does a scan to find out what apps play dirty and launch random ads. Maybe there is something that can catch the culprit launching the apps.
Hey all, I'm hoping some of you experts can help chime in on something here. Periodically, Edge Lighting and the pill-box notifications on my S8+ will stop working. If I go and disable EL and then re-enable, then it works fine again....for a few days and then out of nowhere stops working again. I never had this issue for a few months when I had my phone until I started using Nova Launcher. I ran into another user on Reddit who also has this same issue using Nova Launcher. He also has the latest updates on his phone, and I do not have the update, and my phone is completely stock too. I emailed Nova Launcher support about this, and this was the reply they gave me: We don't have API access to that kind of stuff because Samsung doesn't allow it. Contact them and ask them to open up their software. So that's where I'm at. Anyone know anything about this?

I personally don't think it's Nova launcher.
I use Nova Prime and have the latest
software and updates. etc.
Edge lighting and the pillbox notification
is working fine. No issues.
If Nova was causing issues, I'm
sure (by now ) the dev of Nova
would known of the issue.
Did you disable any system apps?
If not and you cannot
trace/solve issue i would
rather then do a factory reset.

Hmm interesting, I have Nova Prime too. I have AdHell installed and only disabled Software Update (com.ws.dm) so I wouldn't get forced to update my phone and have the annoying icon.

Bottom line
Edge lighting and the notification should
work fine, with Nova.
However there could be other culprits apps that you either installed or uninstalled
that could have "broken/corrupted"
Edge lighting /system apps
I had this recently when my A O Display
stopped working.
I tried everything i could, to fix AOD.
Could not solve issue.
Did n factory reset and the Always On Display
working fine.
So it must have been a 3rd party app
of mine that i uninstalled ..? that broke
my AOD.
Good luck
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's not Nova or AdHell. I use both and still edge lighting works for me...
If you disable packages using any of the apps do not disable these two or else Edge Lightning will not work:
-Samsung Push Service (under bloatware)
-Always On Display (under system)
Edge Lightning is dependant on these two to work. However that might not be your issue.

Yea both of those aren't disabled for me. I was talking to someone on Reddit and he says he had an update to Edge Screen and Nova Prime. Do you by any chance know what those versions are?

No idea sorry.
Sent from my SM-J530F using Tapatalk
Nova and edge lighting works here.
I don't know when this happened from the time i installed OOS 9.0.0 or from the latest OOS 9.0.3 update but is very annoying. Any application i have opened minimized/closed and sent me to the home screen of my launcher when i lock my phone or let it lock itself. I formatted my phone but nothing, now i installed Beta 6 but the issue is still here. Does anyone have the same issue with me?
Sorry for my bad English.
I have the same problem. I think it's from 9.0.2, hopefully somebody makes a fix for it soon.
In fact, I've noticed that gesture navigation is really glitchy. I've had multiple times that I've been forced to the home screen randomly while typing, none of which happened before the update. I'm surprised they've pushed this out.

I think i found the problem i always use Nova Launcher for all of my smartphones. I tried to switch to Oneplus Launcher and the problem was gone. I am not very sure if it has fixed but all day it was fine but i prefer Nova Launcher most.

I don't want to switch back either but this glitch is so annoying. I am using Nova Launcher from my first phone Samsung Galaxy S2 and i like it so much.
I'm using Nova launcher. Is anyone else getting this, where you're kicked to the homescreen after any call ends, no matter which app or window you currently have open/active? Is there any way to turn this off? It's driving me nuts
Yes. It happens to me on OnePlus launcher and Lawnchair V2. Itll probably get fixed in the next update.
Same here. I'm using Nova launcher, and when I'm playing a game or watching a movie and receive a call and ignore the call it takes me directly to the home screen. I'm using the T-Mobile oneplus 7 pro. Not sure if it affects the other variant.
I uninstalled One Plus Launcher updates in the play store and it seems to have fixed this. Will do more testing.

No issues with calls now. I just uninstalled OP launcher updates and set it to not auto update. I don't use it anyway

Awesome, I just did the same and no more kick backs.
Has anyone had any issues with blackscreen after unlocking with finger print, only status bar and nav bar are visible to get everything back I have to press the recents nav button, even the keyboard is black until I hit recents. Same issue on two different OnePluses 12gb and 8gb. Everything is fine when using OnePlus Launcher or not using finger print. I've tried trouble shooting this in many ways but can't seem to get rid of this bug, disabled all gestures and substratum. Seems to be a bug with Nova, but even if I unlock not to home screen the app that was open is visible but keyboard will not be. I've tried multiple keyboards and all experience the same issue.
It's a Nova thing, had the same issue with my previous phone LG V30. OP7 Pro is the only phone where I have not installed Nova and I like it so far. You should try ditching Nova for a couple of days and see if you like it.

Do you recommend any other launchers that can customize widgets, such as removing the padding & the ability to add Google Feed?
im on nova latest beta but never seen that issue
I'm using Nova Prime and have never had this issue.
Same here. Nova Prime Beta and never seen this yet and I've had it since the 21st. Stock, Stock Kernel, Rooted with TWRP.
No issues here on 9.5.6 GM21AA and Nova Launcher 6.1.8 Beta, I have mine installed as a magisk module I created though.
Uninstall through PlayStore and install this as a magisk module (recommend backing up in Nova Settings if you already set everything up)
here it is if you want to try it.

It's not a 'Nova thing'. This is happening ubiquitously across all launchers for people. it's a bug that's wrong with 9.5.6. And ambient display is causing it. Several threads have been created for this already.
disabling ambient display, and enabling double tap to wake in system settings will alleviate the issue entirely

Wow, ok I was unaware that was the issue, it did fix the problem but sucks that I'm going to lose the wake feature when picking up the phone.
