Redmi Y2 (Indian version of S2) randomly stuck on Mi logo. Please help! - Xiaomi Redmi S2 Questions & Answers

Hey everyone, I hope this is the right place to ask for help. Something very weird happened yesterday. After removing my 2-year old Y2 from charging, I started using it normally. After a few minutes, it lagged somewhat and then stopped responding. Without thinking much, I pressed and held the power button to restart it like I have done many times before. But this time, it got stuck on the Mi logo. It kept getting stuck on the Mi logo (after switching off for about a second) no matter how many times I held the power button to restart again. I left it on the logo overnight and it stayed that way.
What I have tried yet:
1. As I said, I tried to restart it multiple times by holding the power button to no positive effect.
2. I tried to boot it up into recovery mode by holding Volume up and power button. That restarts the phone back to the Mi logo and it is stuck again. The "Main Menu" (which I think is the recovery mode) with options like Reboot, Wipe data, etc doesn't appear.
3. I tried to boot it into fastboot mode by holding Volume down and power button. It boots up to the fastboot logo so I guess it is working.
4. I followed the steps in this video. The phone stays in fastboot and nothing happens.
5. I let the phone discharge completely once, and tried charging and booting again. This also did not make any difference.
I could not find any information about something like this anywhere. Since it happened on its own, maybe it is a hardware problem? I did not install anything new in the past few days, not even a new app. Maybe it has got something to do with the battery or some other part?
I'd really appreciate any type of help in how to fix this, in particular the following issues:
1. Is there any way to know if it is a software or hardware problem without complicated tampering with the hardware?
2. Can I do anything to recover the data? I'd be really upset if I lost it all.
3. What all steps can I take to fix it if it is a software problem, preferably without losing the data?
4. If it is likely a hardware problem or a difficult to solve software problem, how I can I encrypt (or even wipe) the data before giving it to someone for repairs? (since I'm not able to boot into recovery mode)
Some extra information if you need it: my phone is not rooted, bootloader is locked, OS is Miui 11 (Miui 12 is also available for it but I haven't installed it yet. Maybe there's a way to install it externally which would boot up my phone?)
Thank you for your help! I'd really appreciate it

Hi, I recommend you first of all back up your data if still possible.
Then, reboot into fastboot.
-fastboot erase system
-fastboot erase cache
- fastboot erase userdata
-fastboot erase recovery.
Then clean flash a rom.

[Q] Nexus stuck on Google logo, fastboot doesn't work

This probably happened to many people before, but I can't find a similar situation on xda or any android forums for that matter that was solved..
I have a Nexus S i9020a running an AOSP strawberry rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843301), I wanted to flash miui rom so I booted back into recovery, backed up the rom, wiped data, cache, dalvik, system then installed the zip and rebooted (install was very quick so I suspect the zip might have been damaged but I'm not quite sure of it)
After install and reboot phone is stuck on google logo. I can boot into fastboot but I cant do anything from there, the volume buttons don't seem to work in it (I can't navigate to recovery or any option), and my power button is broken for about a month now so that's useless. I can boot into fastboot by unplugging the battery, plugging again, then holding volume up while inserting micro usb cable which will power the phone on.
I can't get the pc to recognize the phone using adb or fastboot devices, it says no devices detected, and when I try any command it says waiting for device and nothing happens. I have all the drivers installed and I use fastboot and adb almost everyday so I know they work.
Anyone experienced something similar or has a solution?
Responses much appreciated.

It's a known problem that you won't be able to scroll in fastboot when your power button is broken. It's because the power button is stuck as "enabled". I don't think there's really an easy solution other than "unfreezing" the power button by fixing it yourself or getting it fixed.
Yea after a bit more of research I think fixing the power button is the only solution.. the only problem with that is that it seems it'll cost more than the phone is worth these days

I imagine it depends where you get a quote from. Samsung seems to be very nice on the repairs, unlike some would believe. Might be a good idea to try to get it repaired by them if possible.

[Q] Struck on bootloop. No usb debugging. Locked bootloader.

The power button on my N5 started acting up, like if i even press it once it will show me the power off option. After that it started to randomly reboot. Now its reboots every 2 sec showing the google logo. When it try to put it in recovery mode, it again reboots. Randomly like 20 in 1 trys it stops in the recovery mode.
1. I tried to factory data reset. I got an error msg something like " Cant mount cache ".
2. Called both Lg and goole for a replacement, but my warranty got over.
3. I unlocked the bootloader using fastboot and tried to flash stock rom, but after the first reboot bootloader command the bootloader again comes to locked status. Still after all process the phone reboots and gets to the booting animation, but it does not move past that( even after an hour).
Device was in full stock condition when this happened. Someone please help me out!!

You should ask questions in the Q&A forum. However i think that it cant be a software problem at all, its the power button, you shold take it to repairs and replace it.

Yeah, definitely sounds like a hardware power button issue. You can still contact LG to repair it for a fee even though the warranty is expired. If you don't want to do that, you (or a tech-savvy friend) can try tearing it apart to see if it's stuck or if there's residue or something like that. This article also has some suggestions, but I don't think they'll be very useful as your power button appears to be stuck down.

Nexus 5 stuck in "four dots animation" [Please help]

So my nexus 5 was running android 6.0.1 July security update, and I flashed 4.4.4 factory image yesterday so that I can maybe root it more easily. However, after I flashed the ROM it got stuck on "four dots animation", so I left it for an overnight booting. It didn't boot up. I also cant access bootloader because when I press the Volume Up+Volume Down+Power button combination it just restarts the "four dots animation". My Nexus 5 now isn't recognized by my windows so i don't know what to do. If anyone has any idea please comment your suggestion.
Tnx in advance.

keep holding just Power+Volume Down, should work. If not, let it fully drain the battery, then plug it into wall charger for like 30 min, and unplug it. Only then press and hold Volumedown and power
Hopefully this is just a software issue because I had something similar to this before where it would bootloop at the Google logo and it turned out that I needs to get my power button replaced. Since yours has got past the Google logo tho and on to the animation, I'd imagine its just software and you should be able to fix it.
If you plug it into your PC while its off and it starts charging, you may be able to boot through to fastboot from there using the ADB & Fastboot Utility's on your computer, boot into recovery mode and swap the rom.
Best of luck!
If your phone is stuck at bootloop. Easy fix is to mount system/cache again. See the following guidefor whole procedure.
https://itechify.com/2016/04/01/fix-failed-mount-cache-invalid-argument/
Hard fix is to flash the ROM again.
I had the same issue, first method worked out for me.
Best of luck.
After unlocking the bootloader, does it re-lock when the phone is rebooted into fastboot? When unlocking the bootloader, does it only take a few seconds for the phone to wipe the data paritions? If the answer is yes to either question, the emmc chip is damaged and the motherboard needs to be replaced.
Try flashing the older stock Google ROM image you can find and flash the userdata.img file last. Immediately after flashing userdata, use the physical buttons to boot into recovery and factory reset. If the factory reset can't mount or wipe the partitions, it's probably a hardware issue.

Bootloop, Mi logo doesnt even show up

I've tried to install new system in my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 MTK.
From the system that I downloaded (I downloaded the correct version) I picked in TWRP to install from boot.img.
Unfortunately the system didnt boot but I could still enter recovery or fastboot.
Then I chose preloader.img and clicked reboot because I thought that at the worst case I'd jsut enter fastboot and fix it.
After this the screen doesnt lit up at all.
The only response is the vibration.
It keeps rebooting over and over again.
Is there any way to save it?
It seems to stop bootlooping when I hold all the buttons at once for a while but when I hold the power button the bootloop starts again.
Re-flash Stock ROM
Is it possible in my situation when I can't access recovery and fastboot?
Can you please tell how can I do that?
Have you tried: With phone off, hold volume up, and insert usb cable. This should turn the phone on and go into download mode or something like that.

I believe its called the fastboot mode and as I said I unfortunately can't go there :/
Yes, we are talking about Mi logo stuck problem during boot. ... OR mobile goes in bootloop where every time shows Mi logo on the screen and shut House Cleaning Services Dubai
While installing your stock rom for your mediatek phone using sp flash tool just click the format all + downlaod option. This may blank out your imei and personal phone specific info
guys plz, you're talking like if I had any access to my phone.
I think I wrote it quite clearly that the only response that I get are vibrations and I dont see Mi logo. It's on for like a split second. Can't go to fastboot or recovery.
I talked about it with a guy on discord and it's loading preloader before boot that should go first so it can't be helped without valid tools. Makes sense to me, already bought a new phone.
