Android 10. developer options - General Questions and Answers

Hello, I'm new to the forum and unfortunately, I haven't figured out the navigation yet, but I really need an answer to my question. Is there a description of all the android 9 or 10 developer menu items on the forum?

I want to find an android app developer for a project we have on at the moment.

Apologies if this has been covered before, I did a search and just found the occational random thread along the lines of "I need an app developer to do......"

New to application building

Hey everyone!
It's Carlisle here, and I am a webiste developer and image designer, and I own TokyoPhobia Studios.
I am new to the whole scene, and I would love to start, but I don't know where/how to :c
I WANT to build apps, but I have no idea how to. I have eclipse and the android SDK + Android 2.2 Platform, but I dont know how to code.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Carlisle
Welcome to forums,
have a read on Android dev section for a start
Not trying to offend you or anything but:
Click the Q&A forum, click "Search this forum", enter "become developer".
Finish the first 3 pages, should then there still be questions unanswered, ask them...
It's a bit anoying to answer the same questions over and over again ;-).

[Q] [Android-CM9] What is a Shadow mode app?

Hello,
I was trying to develop a full screen application on Android CM9 for a Galaxy Tab 7" P1000 with the 20120407 build and HumberOS Kernel 20120325.
It appears that only shadow mode applications can be run in full screen (without combined bar).
As I am new and cannot post on developer sections, I am posting this there.
I looked in different sections (GTab specific, Android dev specific, other devices...) but could not find an answer :
What is a shadow mode Android application?
Well, another day in ignorance.
A bump for hope.
Well, if no answer in 10 bumps at least I will be able to post in an appropriate section.
I believe this is related to the screen and the softbuttons and hiding them and making apps go full fullscreen (lol).
This is just an educated guess though...
Well, at least an answer.
I knew that already because it is the purpose of my question but thanks anyway.
As for doing it, I put >> android:theme="@android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar.Fullscreen" << in my Android activity definition but this is not sufficient, that is why I was asking what is a shadow mode app.
Some people on the forum stated that only those apps could hide the soft buttons if along with it the correct option was checked in the parameters (and of course I checked it).
I tried some other application styles but none of them happened to put the activity in real full screen, without soft buttons.
I am going to check again and see if someone asked it in the past days!
Will keep you informed...
I know MX Video player can do it, maybe you can ask the dev if he can help you out?

Click to collapse
Will check that out. Thanks.

How to enable developer options

Go to settings....about phone and then tap build 7 times....done.
not really development... sure some may not know how to do this but I personally think this should go in general or a different sub forum

TTS from Background using Android 10 OS

I understand that a Text-to-speech notification cannot be triggered from an app running in the background on a phone using Android 10. Does anyone have a work-around for this limitation?
cheers
Steve
ps - just a newbie... with very little experience.
Welcome @RadarReminder ! It is always very useful if you mention your own phone specifications in the forum and include it in your question. This way we can respond much more directly to your question. In addition, you can then search for the thread that exists especially for this phone. (Almost every phone has its own thread)
Enjoy your wandering.
