how can i downgrade the a9 to android 6 official one and without root?
since i cant use warranty i am okay with rooting but i need the phone,

I'm probably beating a dead horse, but I'm a total newb regarding rooting etc. I have an HTC Droid Inc 2 with 0.98.0000 (2.3.4) and would like to root my phone. I realize that the only way to root this phone is to downgrade it to 2.3.3 so that it can be S-offed. I'm trying to decide as to whether or not it would be worth downgrading. Would I be able to upgrade after rooting? If a version update is finally available, would I be able to upgrade without having to unroot? Also how do firmware updates from Verizon play into this? Can they be installed manually after rooting? Thanks in advance for your advice.
So I traded my LG g2 for a Verizon HTC One m8 so far I love it. The phone was on the official lollipop update sadly. I know as of now I am stuck. But will I always be stuck or is there a root exploit in the makings?

Nothing is a given but the team that is likely working on this has a good track record with HTC devices, so it is likely just a matter of time.
Thanks for the reply! Just waiting patiently. Once sunshine releases an update will it root my phone along with s-off or will a seperate root exploit need to be found first?
Currently, sunshine temproots your phone to get s-off, but not sure how it will be done with 5.0. I've heard lollipop is going to be more difficult to root.
is it possible to downgrade to Lollipop 5.x for HTC A9 Sprint network ?

I have i been searching the forum to see of I can find anything information but nothing. I just bought a HTC ONE A9 at&t version and just realize that it doesn't get any other updates other than marshmallow. Is there detail instructions I can follow to get the nougat update or any other later update without rooting my phone or s-off that removes the warranty?

So I got my U11 a month ago and it's been great. But after 7 years of installing roms I'm really tempted to unlock the bootloader and install one of these great roms we have here. Or turn it into the US unlocked version. I've owned a HTC one M9 once, so I know my way around to get back to stock and stuff. But will I be able to get OTA's with my U11? Back when I had my M9 I was able to get back to stock and get OTA's. I was even able to turn my M9 in to the US unlocked edition by changing the cid and mid and installing the RUU from HTC's website. It felt amazing when I got Nougat faster than my friends HTC 10 EMEA version So, Is this still possible for my Dual sim HTC U11 EMEA region? Or does that only work for the single sim version?
