Program android device to display car information? - General Questions and Answers

Hi all,
I'm considering / planning an android project to upgrade my car stereo system/screen, and I need your opinion regarding an aspect.
So as for today, my car has an old school stereo and an old school screen that displays basic information, and I'm wondering if I can remove these two modules, and replace them with a single android device that will provide same functionality.
The following picture shows the desired transformation:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
as you see in the upper picture, lower part of the dash has the stereo, and above it is the screen,
I'm sure that an android device can fully replace the original stereo and provide same functionality.
As for the car's original screen, this is the tricky part for me. This screen shows information such as the configured AC temperature, AC fan speed, fuel consumption etc. and I'm wondering if there is anyway to develop some android application to read all of this data and display them on the new android device?
anybody done something similar?
Thanks.

[Q] Bluetooth Headphone and Bluetooth version

According to SGS Spec, our phone support v3.0 bluetooth (not sure how it benefit us compare with version 2.0)
I'm regular jogger, listen to music during my jog is what I like to do, unfortunately, I just had my expensive (to me at least) wire earphone torn apart , might be due to extensive movement during exercise, hence I'm looking at sporty bluetooth earphone/headphone.
I found Motorokr S9, but it's not available in my country (Asia). any other suggestion?

I got the S9-HD
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875982274
and they are pretty much the best I had! I used to have the red ones like on the pictures but I got it from a chineese website, so I'm not shure if they are the real deal or an imitation, but the HD's are wayyy better!

Find me something that fits these parameters?

I'm trying to find a perfect solution for a "car music/nav" system in my car.
I was CLOSE with the samsung epic... see picture:

However when you route audio through it the sound gets changed into horrible noise. It's a hardware defect and it's no good.
Now I've almost got it with the 7 inch htc flyer, except there's no horizontal dock AND the MHL adapter cable wont let you charge it at the faster AC rate.
Can anyone locate a product like this:
- Horizontal docking option (like the evo 3d)
- Dock MUST include AUDIO out
- Dock must be able to charge at the AC rate, not the USB rate
- Real GPS inside
- Wifi
- Preferably be no less than a 4 inch screen
- When routing Audio through dock it must not be degraded to changed in ANY form (aka samsung epic dock)
That's all I ask for. is it really that hard to find this elusive product??[/QUOTE]
wonder if the NOTE would do this

here is my toughts i know its not have the details but some points its pretty reasonable
how about your idea?
but i want to be scientific and reasonable
Some things:
I personally feel holding the phone and talking to be quite inconvenient and old-fashioned, so I would predict 10 years from now, the speaker & microphone would/should be replaced by something (maybe directional speakers / microphones / something more hi-fi) so that we can just talk handsfree always without worrying about interference / privacy / all the problems we currently have.
I'm not quite for predicting that touch-screen would be the dominant interface, but couldn't really think of other advanced UI methods that might crop up in the near future. I would more like moving away from the passive device with a display & touchscreen that you've to go to for accessing information towards something like google glass - something that's always there unobtrusively but provides you stuff you want always without all the lookup cycle.
Also, removing the display for something wearable and still not inconvenient (goggle/glass are not liked by everyone) would be a very good technological advance.

Hi everyone!
We've made an app, which allows you to communicate with other drivers using your smart-phone. It works similar to truckers' CB radio, but you will only need smart-phone and an Internet connection.
This program determines your coordinates and allows you to speak with other nearby drivers. You can speak simultaneously, not interrupting each other.
Using CiBiX you can alert other drivers about the dangers on the road or find out about traffic jams and possible shortcuts.
The app works best with Bluetooth or wired handset, or with the cars audio system. To prevent discharge of the battery use car charging device.
At the moment, CiBiX works only on Android, but soon it will be on IOS and WindowsPhone.
We are still working on optimization, so we would like to hear about all bugs and problems you find. You can write them right here on this forum, so as any wishes on making this app better.

Front parking camera -- questions on how to wire it up

I have a Eonon GA9153A (MTCE_HT_V2.84_1) in my 2014 VW Beetle. I am already using a rearview backup camera that automatically activates when I go into reverse gear (the camera is wired up to the reverse light for activation).
I would now like to add a forward facing camera for parking assist (probably mounted at the front license plate). My Eonon unit appears to have a second video input (no. 19) right next to the rearview camera input. Is that the correct one to use? I also went into factory settings to tell it to switch to the forward camera for 10 seconds right after disengaging the reverse gear. But how would I wire up the forward camera, meaning how would I supply the forward camera only with power when I just disengaged the reverse gear (meaning not all the time)?
There's a device that came with the radio that is called a "regulator relay" that I suspect may have something to do with this, but there are zero instructions explaining what its true function is.
Below are the schematics of all inputs on the device.
Thanks!
