in many newer xiaomi phones, the vendor partition is locked, and that makes it harder to install custom roms and also makes it possible to brick your device if you do try it. Does the Poco X3 nfc have its vendor partition locked or not? The Poco F1 didnt have it locked, and was one of the best phones for custom roms, so i wonder if the same would apply for the Poco X3. If the partition on x3 is locked as well, then could someone tell me how to flash a rom on it safely without ending up bricking the phone?

I don't know if Poco X3 NFC has vendor partition locked, but I flashed today at least 5 different custom ROMs, and I didn't brick anything, so what are you asking really? Did you look in here
Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Ot ? Dozens of custom ROMs, what are you waiting for?
@jeryll so you are sure its safe to do, right? Also, as a general phone, is it as amazing and exciting as it seems? 120hz, 6GB, stereo speakers, 64MP camera, 5120mAh battery? This sounds very good.
Hm, safe? Nowadays yes, just do your general learning about how to flash, because it's a new phone and ... you'll see if you buy it... In its price category its a very good phone, but beware of MIUI 12, that's IMHO alpha version, repaired by xiaomi engineers on the fly... soo... you have been warned...

I am planning to change it to Havoc os and hydra kernel, so MIUI shouldnt be an issue, right? Also, custom ROMs support 120hz on games and scrolling I suppose
I suppose that's a yes?

Hello Everyone!
I'm currently trying to decide whether to get the Honor Note 10, or the Xiaomi Mi Max 3. While the former clearly shows strength in terms of processing power, design etc., the later one has a major advantage in software due to it having treble support.
Hence, if I may ask to those of you who already have the phone, is the device treble enabled? I currently have my OnePlus 5 running Android Pie because of treble, and I would like to have my secondary phone be as flexible as well! I am highly aware that the bootloader unlock requires a paid service, but a few dollars for having barebones AOSP roms would be something I look forward to.
Thank you in advance to those who'll answer!

Yeah! So that it may be possible to flash GSI roms
Hi,
As Huawei doesn't allow to unlock the bootloader, you won't be able to install any GSI to it...
Some people report to have managed to unlock it with a paid option and to install TWRP.
But I am almost certain that even if they did and assuming a GSI will install and boot, you'll end up with a crippled device with features missing or not working...
I'd like to see that also but I think for now I'll stick to stock to no get stuck ,?

Well, maybe we could find workarounds for it... But I do understand your point with having incompatible roms.. I have bricked a device before because of it. But I hope someone knowledgable could look into this, especially those who work on the Honor 10 and Honor View 10 . Anyways, I guess I'll just try by myself, got my unit just today :fingers-crossed:
Is Note 10 a A only device?
hi, I found the realme q on the net at around 140 euros, a fantastic price. The problem is that the realme q is only in Chinese and English, is it possible to put the rom of realme 5 pro in realme q? thank you all
Sure it is. They're the exact same device just realme Q is rebranded so they could sell it cheaper. Of course you'll probably need unlocked bootloader to flash global rom(Realme 5 pro) on your realme Q and according to rumors they'll release source code in this december. That means bootloader unlock and root will be possible in this December. After that you'll be able to flash global rom on your realme q. Btw I ordered a realme q as well instead a realme 5 pro because it was cheaper. I'm not bothered by the English language.
Edit.: By intensive testing and some developer help I've discovered that Realme Q has smaller system partition size + different codename (RMX1971 [Indian Realme 5 Pro]) while Realme Q (RMX1971CN) thus this forbids flashing Indian firmware of Realme 5 Pro on Realme Q and vice versa. At least of 2019.10.19. Same goes for Lineage OS since system partition size is 4096 mb on Realme Q while decrypted and decompressed Lineage OS weights 5+ GB.
oh my goodness

You should be able to flash Magisk already. I've successfully unlocked bootloader via flashboot. It's just that I messed up because I installed faulty, test version twrp that messed up my system, now I can't boot. But you should be able to flash Magisk via fastboot.
Okay

Yes there is. It happens the realme q fastboot.7z file was corrupted when I first downloaded it that's why I couldn't decompress it to get the flashable .img files. I've been working now from 5 am to 9 am to flash them and now my device works with stock firmware. However as soon as I modify recovery by replacing it with either realme q or realme 5 pro twrp recovery it won't boot since it detects boot modification. Same goes for Magisk root. All I achieved in the past 4 days of intensive testing ane flashing was unlocked bootloader but I can't flash root or custom rom either. It's understandable since we're in a very early period of phone release but I'm envious of Indian users who are already able to have Lineage os + Magisk on their devices.

Sadly no. It happens Realme 5 Pro has codename rmx1971 while Realme q has the codename rmx1971cn thus this causes complications in flashing. We only got to know this recently.
Hi would it be better to but the 5 pro rather than the Q? I dont do custom roms though, can i have your input?

Buy Realme 5 Pro. Realme Q supports lesser outside of China 3g and 4g bands. Global and indian version support more.
Is the difference only on 3g and 4g supports? I live in the philippines and we only have 4g at most

Mostly. Realme Q (China) and Realme 5 Pro (global) have different firmware so updates may differ. They tend to at least, I noticed. Also developer support is bending towards global way more than Realme Q. I've realme Q and overall I'm really happy with it. However I'm annoyed by Color OS for it's limiting me in my so well known freedom that I had on Pixel Experience or closer-to-stock roms. Sometimes settings are reset by the Color OS system for example when I set a different notification sound for an app the system resets it to default within a hour. When you set animation speed to higher or lower Color OS will reset that too to default. Also the RAM management is horrible on Color OS. Aside that it's a very fast system, looks good, feels smooth, battery is fine.
Ooof that reset of color os is a real bummer. I hope that future updates will address that ram management, especially the new announcement of color os 7. I'd probably tilt to realme Q as it is much cheaper than the global version. This is considering a month from now and theyre still the same price. I'd go with the global if the price comes down (hopefully but i wouldnt bet on it coz realme 3 pro's price stayed the same for the last ~6 months) . Thank you so much for your inputs, it puts me at ease knowing that i wont regret the overall satisfaction of owning Realme Q/5pro
hi.i have realme 5 pro with global rom and i cant unlock bootloader.it is possible to flash indian rom from realme q and unlock bootloader?thanks
Anyone try to repartition Realme Q exactly the same with Realme 5 Pro?
Now we had TWRP, root, ADB... I think we can convert Q to 5 Pro easily.
Maybe these guides help:

Did you try to repartition Realme Q? sorry but I don't have a device, I'm just going to buy it.
I think we should do these steps:
1. First use TWRP to backup all partitions to SD Card.
2. Use ADB to get the Partitions Table of Realme 5 Pro.
3. Use ADB to repartition Realme Q to 100% the same with 5 Pro.
4. Restore all partitions backed up before using TWRP.
5. Flash Stock Realme 5 Pro ozip file using TWRP.
If successful, we'll convert Q to 5 Pro.
Previously I have owned phones by Vivo Oppo and Oneplus but I am new to Realme. What are the chances that this phone gains TWRP and/or any custom ROMs? Thanx
Really hard to say. The custom rom / twrp development has been really slow on the Realme X2 Pro, which means that not a lot of devs are working on Realme hardware.
On the other hand. The development of the XT is quite Good.
I don't think it's coming any soon
Also I think realme doesn't allow unlocking bootloader in EU.
I just hope they don't follow the footsteps from OPPO, which unlocking bootloader is a pain of the butt.
Is any possibility to get MIUI here ... i'm gonna pre order that thing but really want MIUI.
Be a little patient. Its gonaa be a while before we see something here.
Kernel Source out just about 12 hours ago...

Kernel Source
Yes I made a post about it because someone wanted my help if they ran into issues on an X50 custom kernel I thought they meant X50 Pro and found the source code. Anybody attempt compiling it yet?
Regarding roms.... I compares network bands in Chinese and global versions. Look same so if I buy Chinese version can I upgrade software with EU rom (realme UI already) and get multilanguage? Or it will brick device?

Can you even find fastboot roms for this phone? I found a site with the roms, but they're all the recovery roms. I'm thinking of buying the new X50 Pro Player variant, but I don't have a lot of information regarding custom roms for the X50 Pro which isn't a good sign for the X50 Pro Player.
is there anyone who can post me a fastboot rom for rmx 2076 version? thanks
Hello, this is my first time owning a xiaomi phone, coming from huawei, i want to ask about the problems of installing custom roms in Xiaomi ( what to do in order to avoid bootloops, bricks...) and if it is safe to install them on xiaomi phones.
Just follow the instructions in f2 pro development forum. Never forget to backup everything before flashing any rom.

The biggest issue is the ridiculous wait to unlock the bootloader.
If not already unlocked, plan on waiting (at least) a week before you can do anything custom with your phone. [ You may find "alternative" unlocking programs online, but each time they are released, Xiaomi seems to quickly patch the "vulnerability" rendering them useless. ]
Once unlocked and MIUI is removed (which I personally feel is among the worst of all Android skins + bloatware + privacy invasion + advertising), Xiaomi phones seem almost universally impressive.
So i recently bought a Xiaomi 12 for ~$450, and i love it so far! So much more cool stuff compared to my previous 11 Lite 5G NE. Now, ive heard that the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 that the xiaomi 12 is using isnt really power efficient, and since i dont really need any faster SoC than compared to the 778G would i possibly be able to underclock/undervolt it? Im hoping it would bring down the power consumption while still offering more than enough SoC power for social media stuff like the 778G.
Ive already touched this undervolting stuff on my old 11 Lite 5G NE with Franco Kernel Manager. Couldnt do much with it tho as the pixelOS kernel controlled most of the stuff. Hoping it might be different on MIUI as its using a different kernel. Rooting would also allow me to install a xiaomi.eu rom to remove the ads and all the other stuff it brings with it. So is it worth it? Have anyone else tried?

yeah nah my bad, i meant that if im going to root (FKM needs root) i might as well install a Xiaomi.eu rom too while im at it. Ill need to unlock the bootloader anyways.
EDIT: im also a bit confused at the xiaomi 12 and 12 pro. Its basically the same device, but is it still under the same codename? The 11 Lite 5G NE and the 11 Lite 5G was 2 different devices, and things that worked on one might not work on the other, so im a bit lost at what things that the 12 pro can do which the 12 cant. Seems like the whole "Xiaomi 12" forum is filled with both Xiaomi 12 pro and Xiaomi 12T stuff.
