Huawei Y5 2019 Bootloader Unlock - General Questions and Answers

I've done a lot of research and it appears that Huawei no more give bootloader unlock codes. But I want to root my Huawei y5 2019. I need help about this.

Good luck with that. These dicks only care about high end machines. The sense of helping each other disappeared entirely with Android Nougat...

FunkyHuawei is a (mostly) paid service which allows you to do the following:
1. Install the latest system software, even before it's released by OTA.
2. Install beta/prerelease system software, without needing to be a beta tester.
3. Recover a bricked phone.
4. Rebranding / Change the region of your phone (China -> Europe, for example, to get Google and so on.)
5. Enabling dual-sim features on single-sim phones.
6. Root your EMUI 8 phone, even with stock recovery (This feature is free)
--NOTE: SOME OF THESE FEATURES NOT AVAILABLE ON P20 SERIES YET. SEE NEXT POST--
You do not need to unlock your bootloader, or void your warranty to use the service. (except the free rooting feature)
To find FunkyHuawei, please Google it. Or you can find a link to the service as well as our rebranding tool within the following XDA Portal article.
https://www.xda-developers.com/exclusive-att-huawei-mate-10-pro-firmware/
We are pleased to announce FHUnbrickFlashTool -- You can now repair any recent Huawei phone via fastboot, even if you cannot access eRecovery or boot the phone! Even if it doesn't show the Huawei logo, as long as you can get a fastboot connection to your computer, you can recover the phone! Google FHUnbrickFlashTool or check FunkyHuawei's reddit for details.
In cooperation with XDA, FunkyHuawei is offering a free credit to Recognized Developers and Recognized Contributers on XDA.
Please PM me for more details.
We will continue posting in this thread with updates regarding new software versions and releases regarding this device.
We will also be monitoring it so we can help anyone who has issues.
FunkyHuawei, due to popular request, is now offering an unlimited pass. You can break your phone all you want, and turn to FunkyHuawei to unbrick it however many times you need to. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much does FunkyHuawei cost?
A: You need to buy credits on the FunkyHuawei website. The price per credit varies depending on the number of credits you buy. Different operations cost different amounts of credits. However, the Root feature of the Mate 10 tool is free, and as mentioned above, Recognized Developers/Contributors of XDA can ask for a free credit.
Q: My phone is bootloader locked, and FRP locked. My bootloader unlock code dosen't work. It won't boot. eRecovery doesn't work. Can you help?
A: Yes. With the Mate 10 this is now a common situation. Contact FunkyHuawei for help in this situation. We'll need to access your computer remotely and the procedure is a little bit complicated, but the phone can be unbricked.
Q: I can't get my bootloader unlock code/don't want to unlock my bootloader, but I want to change my phone to something other than Chinese. Can you help?
A: Yes. Our new FunkyHuawei Rebrand Tool works on recent Huawei phones (Sorry EMUI 8.1 phones not yet supported. Coming soon), to rebrand them to another region even when the bootloader is locked.
Q: I'm not seeing the latest version listed on FunkyHuawei or elsewhere as an OTA. Why not?
A: Huawei has a very odd and unpredictable way of rolling out OTA updates. You can use FunkyHuawei to install the new version immediately, or can wait for the update to be rolled out. It might be a month or more after release until the update reaches your device from Huawei directly. We have no idea why.
Q: Why isn't FunkyHuawei free?
A: Because many of FunkyHuawei's features cost FunkyHuawei money to provide. Features that don't cost FunkyHuawei money to provide, like rooting the Mate 10 or our TWRP build for Mate 9/Oreo, for example, are generally made available for free. There are also bills to pay, kids to put through school, and so on.
Q: I noticed FunkyHuawei in an XDA Portal article!
A: FunkyHuawei loves XDA, and is cooperating with them as much as possible. Recognized Developers and Contributors on the XDA forums are welcome to claim a free credit from FunkyHuawei as well.
Q: I have a different question.
A: This is what this thread is for! Post away!

Yes, it's possible, but you'll need to unlock the bootloader.
Please contact funkyhuawei support by email and we can help you, as we have not released the tool to do it publicly yet.

Thank for the reply, just one more question before buying the unlimited usage membership. After Converting to Dual Sim , does the system show 2 IMEI or still only one ?
Thanks

Does this mean one IMEI share between 2 sim?
@duraaraa Can Funky Huawei contact Huawei to request the release of complete and up to date kernel sources, so that we may have custom rom and kernel development for the new P20 & P20 Pro Series ?

No... we don't have any contacts at Huawei to ask. AFAIK project treble will let custom rom development go on quite easily even without kernel sources.

Yes. But it's possible the phone has an internal secondary IMEI which it simply doesn't show on the settings. We haven't had a way of figuring out exactly how it works IMEI-wise, but both sims do work. It's been this way for generations of Huawei phones.

About 3 months ago, Huawei announced that it would not support unlocking for its mobile phones. In fact, the official webpage for unlocking code has been closed permanently.

Huawei bootloader unlocking in general

I decided I would like to. Make a petition about terrible support for custom Rom community on Huawei devices. It's not the support itself, it is Huawei (how we all know) you know it sucks when you get an amazing deal on eBay for an p20 pro in this case and it turns out to be a demo model and you can't use it properly. Normally you as a member of the custom Rom community would unlock it and flahs latest official software on it, well not on a Huawei device, because they shut down their official unlock service quite some time ago, but I think this needs to stop. That's why I created a petition for unlocking Huawei phones officially (or whilst this isn't my goal, someone telling on how the read the code manually, but I prefer an official unlock)

Yes, I published this once already but... It got removed I think... Never got an response
Why not just use the dload method to flash the last firmware? No need to unlock.
Huawei wants its own echosystem, unless locked bootloader affect its profit seriously, Huawei won't think bit of the choice at all. So I don't think Huawei would care about your petition.
And, after buying P20 Pro, I say thousands times of 'good bey' to Huawei.

Well gotta get a new adapter then
Yeah, I would try the dlaod method via USB OTG. Huawei is not going to unlock their bootloaders because of a petition. There are larger issues that motivate them to keep it locked.
Best petition, stop buying their bootloader locked devices.

This. It's sad since Huawei makes beautiful Hardware, but vote with your wallet. I know my (BL unlocked) P20 Pro will be my last Huawei.

(Q) Unlock bootloader on honor 8?

Hi everyone I want to unlock bootloader on honor 8 but I research how to unlock bootloader on honor 8 I didn't find any solution. Is someone help me about it. Thanks!
There was a time where you could request bootloader unlock code from huawei offical website without using money, but then they removed it. There are now services where you get the bootloader codes of huawei devices, but it may cost money.
