Will it get Depth API arcore support? - Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Questions & Answers

I'm thinking of buying Xiaomi Mi Note 10 but before I do I want to ask if there is a possibility of it getting Depth API support. It already supports ARcore and has a depth camera, so that's why I'm asking.

I don't know of any way to do that. Seems that Huawei is very strict about giving out the code for their camera. You might want to poke around in the Treble support area and see if any of the developers there have an idea to help you. There is one guy who has ported the stock camera app to project treble, but he can't openly share the code as it is proprietary to Huawei

GCAM - Will Mi Mix2s / Poco / Mi8 ever get Motion Photos?

Hi,
I've been researching a lot about Motion Photos in Gcam. Before, on my Mi A1, motion photos worked great, but with the Xiaomi Phones with Snapdragon 845 I can't seem to fix it. I've tried every possible setting and many different builds.
From what I've read the problem is that Gcam uses the YUV format for Motion Pictures and that Xiaomi doesn't provide the correct drivers for the Snapdragon 845 for it. This is also the problem with Mi 8 and Poco F1. Does anyone know if this is true and if devs can work around this, or we just have to live with the fact that we never can use the feature Motion Photos?
Or is this something devs can fix in a custom kernel? CC: @Arnova8G2
Greetings, Remy
PS: I also post this thread in the Poco forums, but nobody replied

We are missing Level3, this only Xiaomi can fix.
So unless they fix their mess, devs are with tied hands.
Long story short, yes you are right about YUV.
Thanks for your fast explanation. Let's hope for the best

Vivo Nex dual ARCore support

Hello,
I have seen ARCore is now supported on many vivo devices, including the dual display edition, nonetheless it is apparently only available to roms with Google apps preinstalled. So, even though my vivo Nex dual is suppirted, I cannot download arcore.
Is there a way to get it running on my Chinese rom vivo? Will vivo someday put ARCore on their app store?
Hello everyone,
This is the response I got from VIVO regarding this issue:
This is to inform you of the result of your demand. We communicated with our engineers just now, we regret to tell you that NEX Dual Display Edition with Chinese version doesn't support Google ARcore since we don't sigh a contract with Google for this phone. Currently, only some of our phones such as NEX with Global version and Chinese version, and NEX Dual Display Edition with Global version support this feature. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Hope you can understand it.

960fps Slow-Mo possible on OnePlus 7 Pro?

Is there any 3rd party app that could enable the 960fps slow-mo recording? Or any magisk module?
Just curious as I know both the SD855 and IMX586 are capable of doing it (K20Pro does it).
+ have chance?
Some updates ? Don't know why nobody didn't made that mode yet
Imx586 only supports up to 240fps natively since this sensor doesn't support dram.
Those 960fps bullshits are just opticflow interpolation
reading this news I would like to know if the Oneplus 7 Pro will get this feature

We gotta get someone with the updated 7t Beta to share the camera apk. It may work just by installing the apk. I'm more interested in the 4k wide angle from our beta 1 or 2.

HEIF

Any ideas whether the HEIF format is going to be available on our MI Note 10's and other Xiaomis?
I recently compared MI 10 vs MI Note 10, the camera app version is the same on both phones - 3.0.200116, the only difference is that on MI 10 there is an option available to set "HEIF format".
It looks like they deliberately limit HEIF to MI 10 only...
