Samsung galaxy note 20 exynos battery improvements? - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

Hi all
I just find out with all the updates, has thw exynos battery life improved since launch. I did own one but the battery was horrific so i sold it. Anyone on android 11 notice a battery improvement. Would love to give it a shot again if there has been a significant difference in battery

I requested a new device from my first device bought - overheating and bad battery. When the new device arrived, it did the same thing the old one did. From the 2nd week, every day the battery improved with normal usage. After about 6 weeks battery is brilliant for the amount of features it's packed! This was all on Android 10.
I updated to Android 11 using frija (as it's not yet in my region). So far, no issues. Battery life was bad on first day, now improving. It's doing the same thing it did when i initially got the device - but with an improvement.
AI built into the device has something to do with it.
This is just my experience.

Battery life on the Note 20U is no improvement from the S10 plus. I'd hazard a guess they really don't have a 4500mAh battery more closer to 4000mah

Nexus 5 vs Galaxy Nexus battery life

I'm a owner of a Galaxy Nexus and I would like to buy a Nexus 5 but the feedbacks about the battery life are not so good.
Is there someone could compare the battery life between the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 5?
This is in the wrong section but ill share my thoughts.

Depends on which model galaxy nexus and which battery. I just upgraded from 9250 to a Nexus 5.
My 9250 with official extended battery got a lot better battery life. But screen is smaller and no LTE.
But I would say the Galaxy Nexus l700 and i515 models get worse battery life than the Nexus 5.
From my experience the GNex (with stock battery, ROM and kernel) seems to have equivalent battery life to my Nexus 5 (with stock battery, ROM, and kernel, w/o LTE on). Of course, my GNex was two years old when I moved to the N5, so by that time the battery life on the GNex was terrible (due to the battery getting cooked accidentally on a beach in Hawaii), and so the battery life of my new N5 is superior to my two year old GNex. In any event, new phone to new phone I think they are equivalent. The most noticeable difference is how fast the N5 charges; it is incredibly fast.
I'm talking about the i9250 (gsm) with stock battery (1750ma if i remember well) and rom (or with cm and his kernel) and every service on. Since some months I'm using the CM10.2 nightlies and I never had problems with the battery life.
I'm interested only on battery life in this topic, not about screen, cpu or other hardware differences, because the only confront I cloud make is with my galaxy nexus battery life.
I'm know that "everything" is better on new phones but I'm not talking about these things and I really don't care how much fast is the charge because I would like to know if the usage time of this two phones between one charge and the following is about the same or if it's worst on the new Nexus 5.
I'm just "worried" to buy a new phone that obligate me to deactivate many functions or to carry always with me the battery charger (as my friend does with his nexus 4).
Charging the phone at the end of the day it's ok but I hate to do the same during the day.
I was less worried when I bought the Gnex because it has a easily removable battery (so one can buy an extended one) but I never changed it because it is sufficient to my usage to reach the end of the day.
Thanks
well coming from a vzw gnex with the extended battery i can tell you definitively that its not even close. N5 is VASTLY superior, so i'm quite happy.
unplug around 7am, gnex would last until maybe 3 until i had to charge it. N5 lasts me all day and still has ~25% or so when i shut it off at bedtime. so yea...
oh and i disable nothing
Yeah, I also came from a Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I always used the official 2100mah battery, and had LTE on all the time. I would typically get 2 hours max of on screen time. The nexus 5 battery is much better. I now typically get 4-5 hours of on screen time.

I've used the GSM galaxy nexus for 2 years. The second year with the 2000mAh oem Samsung battery from Korea. With display brightness to auto, full sync on and wifi on but location reporting off and GPS off I'd usually get 3 to 3.5 hours screen on time. With my N5 I get 4 to 4.5 hours of screen on time with the same device settings.

Coming from a GSM GNex with the original battery I'm finding the N5's battery life no better really, which is disappointing. Others here are having different results, so I'm not sure what to conclude.
I "suppose" it depends on the usage.
Who use apps that utilize high cpu freqs (like games) could have a (very) bad battery life because new processors have higher freq (maybe).
Usually I don't play with the phone, or maybe just some "light" game for few minutes (not games with "heavy" 3d graphics)
I use the 90% of the time chrome, gmail, maps, feedly, calendar, bus/train "timetable" apps. I hope the Nexus 5 battery will satisfy me.

Battery Technology and Battery Degradation

Lithium Ion battery technology, I am pretty sure most people on this forum have a love/hate relationship with it. However, I am hoping that some more knowledgable members of this forum would be able to assist me on this topic.
My current phone is an htc one m7 which was purchased new in September of 2013 (roughly a year and a half old). As of recently I have noticed major drops in battery percentages while the phone is discharging, something very visible on lollipops battery graph. I chalked this up to the death of the cell in my phones battery and their inability to hold the charge as they once did. To be sure of this I recalibrated my phones battery and while this did not improve battery life it has at least made the battery % indicator more reliable.
From what I have read lithium ion has about 500 charge cycles or normally 2 years or so of cell phone use. Obviously my phone seems to fit on the lower end of that median unfortunately. I was already contemplating updating to the new m9 being released this coming March however it seems I am more being forced to upgrade now rather than it being optional. This now leads me to my question:
With the newer generations of phones featuring bigger batteries and more power efficient components will this improve the overall longevity of cell phone batteries or will they still be limited to the 2 year (or in my case less than 2 year) lifespan? This is a major concern for my phone purchase in the coming weeks as I dont want to be in the same perdicement again. As much as I love HTC and have replaced a couple iphone batteries in my day HTC phones are notoriously horrible to take apart and I may opt against them for my new purchase even though Im a raving fan of what I have seen from the m9 leaks so far. Any help with my question or general battery technology knowledge would be of great assistance!
Also I forgot to mention my phone currently gets about 6hrs to 6.5hrs of usage on a charge. Running the newest lollipop liquidsmooth and a custom kernel. Cpu is undervolted and running smartassv2 and noop, furthermore I keep brightness as low as possible and have things such as bluetooth and nfc off. Please note 6 to 6.5hrs is if Im connected to wifi for most of the day if im running on 4gLTE Im lucky to get 4 to 5hrs before it dies.

Is Galaxy S6 still relevant in 2018 ??

Is s6 still relevant and how do you rate it in 2018??
can we get bigger battery (S7 battery ) ??
I was dissapointed about S6 battery and had for few days a brand new S7. In my usage pattern, both phones will last from 7am until 8pm so i think the answer to your question is yes, it's relevant.
If you're unhappy, you can swap battery with S7edge
I replaced the battery in my gf's S6, and will be adopting it soon. With a new battery, I'm happy about upgrading to it from my current LG G3.
I have S6 edge, charging every day and still with original battery, running custom ROM from day one. It is great device it is just boring after so many years
I had a Pixel 2 over Christmas and the plan was to sell my S6 but was never 100% happy with the change. The phone felt bigger despite having a smaller screen and the screen itself wasn't as good as the S6, imo. Luckily i could return it after Christmas.
Anyway what I'm saying is the S6 is still a great phone which I'll be sticking with until the new LG/Samsung phones are released and I'll go from there. As good as stock Android was the step up from the amazing S6 wasn't as big as i thought it would be, and there were some things i preferred on the S6.
Battery lasts a day easy for me. Can always top it up at work.
The camera on the Pixel 2 as amazing though.
Its still 2018
its 2018 and its still amazing phone and with s7 edge battery u cant find better phone for that price:laugh::silly:
its still awesome phone no lag at all
(99.9% lag free) the bad thing is the battery for me, I just need to replace it!)

Galaxy Note 10 Plus Battery Life ?

So I am a long time Iphone user who has recently switched to Android and recently bought a Note 10+ - cant justify the new iphones being prices so high with no new innovation or software upgrades
I have noticed that the battery life is decent, not as great as the reviews on youtube have mentioned. I cant seem to get more than 3.5 to 4 hours of SOT with my phone, and when I use the phone the battery percentage seems to drop down percent by percent fairly quickly? Maybe it's just me but my 3 year old iPhone seemed to stand the percent when being used than the Note 10.
Not to mention, the battery life overall is impressive i can easily get a whole day and maybe a bit more depending on the usage. On standby the battery seems to do well and not drain quickly. I also use AOD and that seems to take about 4-5% extra per day? Which is not a big deal.
I have the Exynos version of the phone. I have heard the Qualcomm version fares better in terms of battery life? Just need some thoughts about this on the usage from all fellow Note 10+ users
I'm coming from an iPhone 8 plus and have the Note 10 (my first Android phone) and am also disappointed in the battery life.

Exactly! I woudn't say im disappointed, but i hoped for much better considering it has a whopping 4300mah battery and apparently the battery is good at optimizing itself based on how the device is being used. My friend has a Oneplus 7 pro and his battery life seems much better even witht he quad HD and 90hz refresh rate on, and the battery is a tad bit smaller than Note 10+

Poor battery life on a brand new battery, potential causes?

I'm mostly interested in information from people who have experienced and solved this issue even on other phones. I'm also interested in testable theories.
- Phone LG G8
- It's 2 years old but in mint condition and benchmark results are still better than an average g8
- 13h screen off battery life on new battery (I did not witness the replacement but store says they put an LG replacement in, authorized dealer)
- roughly the same battery life as previous battery which was 2 years old. It got around 2 days screen off time for about the first year and a half.
