Query - LG G7 ThinQ Guides, News, & Discussion

Good, I have a lg g7 thinq flahs crossed, before it was from the verizon company and now it has the Canadian kdz, I changed the load flex because it was damaged but when placing the flex European or Korean version it does not raise a signal but everything else does work. place the damaged one if you get a signal again why this case is due, thank you.

Try manually adding the apn and letting it search for a while (about 5 minutes) if that doesnt work ,
Have you tried reflashing the phone using the new flex?
A less drastic solution would be a factory reset with the new flex installed.

"No Sim" ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Hi guys,
using this device for a couple of month now without problems
today when I was driving I guess I pressed something wrong 'cause the phone network settings popped and I accidentally chose the wrong provider and now the phone says there is NO SIM!!!! ahhh
Tried shutting it down, restarting it, taking battery & sim out, resetting the phone for yesterdays settings, resetting it to manufacture settings and nothing helped still a message saying NO SIM
so.......... I got to options either the sim went dead in the middle of the day 'cause I told it to use a different provider then mine or the device is a goner.............
tried installing an old sim (not 3.5G) and it still said NO SIM
what say u ?
oh and pls help me
thanks
have you warranty for your phone? looks like you have hardware failed.
well I think the device is in warranty (two and a half month old) the problem is that it was a prize in a competition in the grand nation of america and we are far away from there.....
could it be malfunctioning in the software ?
I am upgrading the rom now maybe it will reslove itself
well updating the Rom to the latest with WM 6.1 didnt solve my problem
is there anyone here who has a similar problem with this or any of HTC devices (Lost the ability to recognise SIM cards) ??????
I've seen a few posts on this forum, complaining on a SIM troubles. If i remember correctly, the reason has been a bad SIM holder socket or something similar. Try looking for those forum threads for more info.
Anyway, the first thing i would probably try is carefully cleaning the SIM socket contacts as well as the actual SIM card contacts with alcohol or something, just to make sure it isn't just a bad contact.
I have been there. My device has been repaired twice and works fine now. The last repair concerned the socket indeed. Maybe that's your problem as well, so check:
- does your SIM work in another mobile?
- does another SIM work in your TC?
- did you clean, reseat your SIM card, try a few times!?
Good luck!
I've polaris too and i've already replaced the sim socket, which malfunctioned..2 weeks after replacement weird things started to happen. I would loose coverage while having a conversation in a place, where all bars are full. Then, after restarting the phone it would show that no sim is inserted AND here's the funny part, after the next restart, the device would return to normal. I could make calls for another day and then it goes again..Right now a week has gone by while i'm restarting my phone every day. The problem is, that right now i need to restart my phone 3-5 times for it to start working normally again (without saying that no sim is inserted).
I can't work out why would this be happening, because if it would be a bad socket, i couldn't use it again after restart, but i CAN.
Can anyone give me advice? Maybe there's a virus from which you can't recover just by flashing the rom
I had the same issue! Therefore I had the phone 3 times in repair under warranty and the issue wasn't rapaired until the third time! All together the phone was in repair over more than 2 months!
I'm pissed off on this lousy service at HTC!
I'm hoping for you not to have such a misfortune then I...
I had the same problem after dismantling.
For me it was that the SIM cable that is going to the motherboard was way to inward. I just withdraw it a bit and that did the trick.
try to install new radio..
if still doesn't works, maybe ur htc hardware problem
I agree with wakhairul2,
if it's not the Radio Rom (GSM depends from it) so it's the hardware!
if it's the second, this is common, Simcard Holder Flex for the Touch Cruise fails easily! but it's also very easy to find a cheap spare..
Anyway, if you have warranty and is less costly then go there..
Else, for a new Simholder hardware check the ebay, Click here to view
You can find for lower than 15 Euros.
Good luck

[Q] Two issues with my Moto G

Hi all. I have some problems with my Moto G about 5 months old.
1: I keep getting a sim card error where it says no sim is inserted. I am aware that you are not meant to use an adapter. I am trying to work out if this is an issue with the actual physical slot being lose or if it is down to a dodgey sim. Is there a known issue where the slots need repair or is it most likely going to be the sim? I will test with another sim tonight. It's very intermittant though unfortunately and can be fine for a week and then do it. To resolve, I simply remove and reinsert the sim.
2: The ear piece (for calls I mean, i.e. not the external speaker) is distorted during calls. It's actually sounds more like the actual casing or ear piece is vibrating/resonating like a slight buzz when people speak to me. It's really annoying.
Should I just get the phone replaced? Annoying as it's such a good phone otherwise and I have paid already to unlock it.
Thanks
Whenever I listen to music, i have to reboot my moto g after unplugging any headphones. If i don't, the earpiece and speaker wont work. Is as if the phone thinks the headphones are still plugged in. I might return the unit for repair depending on the warranty.

Both of you, I would return and have the phone replaced, Mine is not doing any of those problems on official rom AND custom rom..
@coursemyhorse: This is a known problem of the moto g. Check the official Motorola forum and you'll see you're not the only one...
I had also the problem with the earpiece, they replaced the earpiece and now it's working fine again.

Wow. Just went to turn my Moto G on and it's now completely dead. It just won't turn on at all. I have no luck with phones. Winds me up. I guess I need to get this replaced then.
That's also a known issue... Most moto g have a battery drop one time. Try to charge the battery for a few hours and then turn it on again.

Ok wierd. It seemed like it was bricked but it was actually I think because the battery got so low that it needed a reset to actually take charge again.
EDIT: Yes thanks to the above for your help. So I bought this in Tesco UK. Reckon I should go back to them to get it replaced? I don't want the hassle if it won't fix either the sim thing or the ear piece. If they will continue to be problems I think I want a different phone. I checked the motorola forums and in fact, it seems that people have had the phone replaced up to twice and they still have the ear piece crackle/buzz problem. Some are saying it is a software problem since kitkat and that motorola will be looking to fix in a later udpate.
Yes, it seems the damaged earpiece is caused by the update, but they replaced my earpiece and untill now it stil works.
If you want to send it back for repair, just contact Motorola, they will help you further.

Any news on the ear piece problem then?
Since the replacement my earpiece still works good . They still don't have a real fix for it.

[Q] No Service following Screen Replacement

Hello,
I've just replaced the screen on my Nexus 5 myself, however having searched through this forum for an answer to my problem I'm left kicking myself and wish I'd just sent it to LG as per many recommendations.
The replacement seems to have been quite successful, everything works, apart from I now have 'No Service'. I've removed and inserted the SIM and the phone recognises that a SIM card has been inserted but will only allow Emergency Calls to be made.
Its all been to bits again and put on to the old screen, the problem remains. Very frustrating.
I don't suppose anyone might be able to help me diagnose the problem?
Thanks,
Will
You probably damaged a ribbon or soemthing, the only thing I would suggest is running a full restore by flashing the stock google image and seeing if that helps otherwise take it to an aftermarket repairer
Sounds like it'll have to go to LG anyway then sadly.

if yes , what did u do ?
my rear camera don't work after factory reset. Tried upgrade from Android 5 to 6 still didn't work. Can't find any solution.

I had the same problem.
Took it to LG service and they changed the motherboard in order to fix this.
So it's probably a hardware problem. I suggest you take it to LG service while it's still under warranty.

i have the same problem . tried wiping the phone , tried changing the camera hardware , the camera app , aida64 cant detect it . any fix yet ?
Delete other apps that use thr camera. I deleted snapchat and then the camera worked fine
This issue hit me yesterday. So far, I've tried restarting the phone, deleting the data and cache for all apps that used the camera, and even made a factory reset last night. But the main camera still refused to open. I've had to conclude that this might be a hardware issue. it could just simply the ribbon cable has lost contact, or could be a deeper issue. I'll try to take the phone apart and look inside tonight. If it is not the loose contact issue, I'd order an OEM camera module and replace it myself. (I found a few on eBay and AliExpress with very cheap price).
Yap. I opened the inner back-cover, yank a few ribbon cables and see if it works. Nope, it won't work. I'll order a new camera module and replace it.
If you have tried different modules then its a big possibility of motherboard fault.
I am running into the same problem, the rear camera seems to be the issue. I have tried reconnecting the cable, and it works intermittently with some apps but not others. I am going to order a new camera this weekend but I am moving continents in two weeks so I am trying to find a fast shipping option here, or just go with a camera from china to get to where I am moving.
On that note, I noticed that the camera appears to have the same part number as the LG G3 (Y472B) though I can find nowhere that confirmed that they are identical parts. While the part number is the same, there is a 4 digit number below it, and I'm not sure if that is a batch number or perhaps a dash number. I haven't found any of those numbers that are the same both for the g3 and flex2, but then, the 4 digit number on the ribbon of my phone is different than the numbers I see on replacement parts.
Can anybody confirm or shed some light on whether the rear cameras of the flex2 and G3 are identical (can be used interchangeably)? If so that would give me a lot more options for ordering!
An update to my post. I ordered an lg g3 rear camera and put it in my flex 2. It appears they are identical as my rear camera now works.
I am having troubles with autofocus but manual works. That seems to be a software not a hardware issue though. But for $15 my flex 2 is now back to normal.
To update, after about a day the rear camera stopped working but would work occasionally.
After a few more weeks the phone started looping restarts up to the lock screen then died all together (it would still charge and display it was charging) I reflowed the main board which appears to have solved all problems but I hesitate to advocate it as it is fairly risky and by many accounts only solved issues temporarily
LG Camera Rear work occasionally or camera fail
When the Camera work occasionally, motherboard is the problem. I changed the camera module and the same situation, (LG G FLlex 2 original module), not work, reset, reinstall android with LG Up, all, but not work. As she does, some components it has a (cold soldering). The only option is to warm the 250-300 degree with hot air in that area or other motherboard. All LG's have the same problem, replace the assembly line LG!

MOTO G Stylus 5G 2022 Connection issue

I bought a Moto G Stylus 5G 2022 ( XT2215-4 ) to fix and sell.. I replaced the display and battery and went to test everything and it would pickup WIFI but no cell signal / data. The phone detects there's a sim card but it's like it just can't read it.
So I thought it could only be 1 of 2 issues.
1: A Antenna issue or 2: The sim reader on the logic Board is faulty.
I inspected the antennas that run from the Logic Board down to the Daughter Board and they both seem to be right and the connections snug.
// Side Question: Are there any other antennas hid out somewhere other than the two Black and white coaxial antennas that's in the back of the phone //
So I figured it must be the sim reader is faulty so I ordered a parts phone with the defects listed on the parts phone as broken display glass everything else is working..
So I swapped out the Logic Board and Daughter Board with the Antennas still attached. I go to test the phone and I still have the same dang issue with it detecting the SIM but not connecting..
I think it would be almost impossible for me to get 2 phones back to back from different people with the same exact problems..
Would anyone happen to have any ideas?
Thanks In Advance

Can you confirm that the device's IMEI is intact/uncorrupted?
Since you swapped the radio, you might need to flash a compatible modem.img in order to make a proper connection, especially if the device is from a different region than where the device is being used.
Both phones IMEI's showed clean when I did the PhoneCheck report before buying them.
Both phones are US models 1 came from California and the other Florida if I remember correctly.
Both are on the TMobile US network
I've never had a phone give me such a hard time at this point I think any profit to be made on this phone is gone so I'll probably just give it away to someone truly in need.
Pending I get it working right and I absolutely refuse to let a phone beat me lol

Is the SIM activated and has the device been activated on the network?
You've changed out all the hardware and the issue still persists, this indicates that it is a software issue. Have you tried connecting it to Motorola's Rescue and Smart Assistant flashing software and letting it scan the device to find the correct firmware and then flash the firmware that it retrieves?
Well I can confirm you're 100% correct that it's a software issue..
But still very buggy. After I do a rescue with Motorola's Rescue and Smart Assistant it somewhat fixes the issue..
It will work like it should for about the first 5 minutes and then it will revert back to the original issue. It's kinda like it receives a signal to kick it offline or something..
So just to triple check I logged in to my PhoneCheck portal and pulled yet another IMEI report for the phone and everything came out clean and clear. So just to make sure PhoneCheck wasn't miss reporting I pulled a report with my IMEI Pro account and it pulled the same results as PhoneCheck did ( Free & Clear )
So then I thought it could be an update that gets installed during the setup process that is causing it to bug out like it is. So I tried it another time and this time I told it to not install updates on setup and killed the WiFi just to be sure it had no way to connect and install any updates during setup but no dise it still gives me the same buggy results..
I swear I've been buying, fixing and reselling phones and tablets now for 5yrs and have never had a device give me such an issue..
I think it's time to just wash my hands and sell this phone as a parts only phone and start putting my time and attention into a different device..
I have a OnePlus 10T that just needs a new ear speaker and I think it will make me more money than this phone after you factor in how much time I wasted trying to get this phone to work and the money spent on the 2nd parts phone to use the hardware out of it

Could the device possibly have been blacklisted before it was sold to you, either by being reported lost/stolen or due to the previous owner not paying their bill? Even with WiFi and mobile data off, it still communicates with the network on the cellular side of the radio, it could be registering on the cellular side then getting kicked off due to being blacklisted.

On the IMEI reports it shows clean under the general blacklist area.
Then under the carrier blacklist check it shows clean.
Also keep in mind that the original device has this issue of not connecting so I bought a parts phone from a different person so I could transfer all it's internals over and the issue still persist.
While it's very possible to get two phones back to back from different people to have the same issue I would think that it's very unlikely that it would happen.
I was reading on Motorola's website forums that with the 2021 model a lot of peoples phones just started doing the same thing out of the blue after the android 11 update..
However the 2022 model ships with android 12 so I'm pretty sure Motorola fixed that bug and has nothing to do with this devices issue..
Crazy is all I can say lol

This is one of those times when it is probably something obvious that neither of us would think should have anything to do with the issue or something so subtle and simple that it is being overlooked.
