Hi guys, I also have a MediaPad T5 AGS2-LO9 (OCEC431), is there any way to make ressurrection remix os work? The tablet is already rot I would only miss the rom, but I can't find a way to install it. Same for Lineageos 16.... Could you help me?
Hello,
For LOS16 you neeed the original/factory recovery. If you've flashed TWRP (as I did) then you need to rollback.
Everything must be done through fastboot as described here or here .
For RR I have no clue, perhaps if there is a guide for how do build and test this Custom ROM we could help in the developemnt, as we can now "easly" unlock the bootloader (if you have dexterity in opening the tablet without breaking it).
PS: threads about this topic are scattered all over the place in different sections
Hi,
thank you very much for your kind reply. I tried to install Lineageos 16, but it always gave me many problems. As for the tablet, I don't remember anymore how many times I opened it (without breaking it of course...), shorting it to unlock it each time. In the end I just rooted it and left that slap of EMUI 8 behind. After a thousand attempts I got tired....
PS I've always used the recovery Twrp, I don't know how you did it with the original one, although I extracted it, I couldn't
Hi have just put lineage 16 on my AGS2-L09 and it runs very well . Just looking for other custom ROMs out there. I have twrp recovery a P20 lite build and just followed the instructions which is a full wipe and format of the system partition and all good. Cheers guys.

I should recommend you use p8 lite 2017 ones as DarkJoker's one (LOS18.1) or eternityson's roms too.
They must work for hi6250 devices (Mediapad's on the group)

Just got a new Lenovo s5 (k520 running ZUI 3.7.177 ST) but can't root it (tried KingRoot and Root Genius so far).
It has a nasty little OS (ZUI 3.7) which keeps killing apps it doesn't like. It took me two days to find an adblocker which would work (AdClear) after trying Dns66, Blokada and a couple of others which I can't recall. It's tightly locked down.
* Anyway, my question is... Has anyone had any luck with rooting this phone or OS?
* Or, has anyone any suggestions for apps or rooting options which might be more successful?
If there's any other people out there with this phone, I would seriously consider chipping in to buy one for a dev to work with... give me a yell if you're interested.
Cheers,
Specs:
OS ZUI 3.7 (based on Android O)
CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 2.0GHz Octa core
ROM 64GB
RAM 4GB
Edit: Hmmm, I was hoping that the latest Magisk beta (16.6) might help, but no luck. It does seem to get further along but fails with an 'unable to find boot image' message (my apologies for not being able to quote that accurately). Nothing seems able to find that .img. Can't back it up either as no app can find it. Yes, I need to brush up my adb skills ...my last effort ended in an error reporting lack of appropriate key, as I recall (sorry, have a bit of a flu just now). Anyway, has anyone else been able to look at this phone? Anyone have any ideas (or just thoughts) about what I can do here?
Thanks.
Just to update.... I have tried every simple rooting option I can find -with no luck.
I have found one reference to installing twrp & rooting this phone, but I'm unsure how legit it is ...it just looks a little like its put together by a script; but maybe they just copy/paste a lot when writing tutes? (I have written to them but have had no response from them in a week). The tutorial makes reference to a dev/group in China successfully installing twrp, but only on a Chinese release, not international.
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone knows of the group or people referenced at
http://tutoraplikasi.com/cara-root-lenovo-s5/
or if anyone might have an idea of the dev(s) in China working on twrp & lenovo?
Just a shot in the dark, really, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Cheers.
OK, looks like time for some more serious reading and brushing up of old, much neglected skilz... I will probably close this thread and open another ( if there's no objections) in the xda twrp forum.
If anyone is interested, I'm looking to compile twrp for this device with a view to flashing magisk. Hopefully, it will work. Seems that adb & unlocking the bootloader is the only way I'm going to get to actually see the partitions holding the IMG files etc. (Though I do have one or two ideas about escalating privileges/permissions, but that's a whole other bunch of research -and time which is always short.)
Anyway, if you have an interest in rooting this phone have a look for a thread under twrp Q&A.
Cheers.
Seems like it was just a matter of waiting... XN Logos has come up with a solution, it appears --
https://www.stupdroid.com/2018/07/root-twrp-lenovo-k520.html?m=1
At least I managed some in depth reading in the meantime. I'll report back on success of the procedure.
Hi I have also a Lenovo s5. I hated zui 3.7 too and I succeded in installing Lineage OS 15.1 by phh using only fastboot mode... I tried rooting It but unsuccessfully. Now I want twrp and if it would be possible even root. Did you succeed with XN Logos?

Haven't actually tried yet. After all that looking for a root solution I now have been too busy. Will probably do it this Wednesday. I'll keep you posted. Did lineage work well? Any bugs or other issues? ZUI is a dog.
Yeah everything is okay... In the previous updates there was a problem with the audio in ear but now is solved. The only thing that is a little (but not dramatically) worse is battery life because in zui the fact that the os kills every app in background makes the battery last longer.
Hey guys, I know it is no the perfect thread for this yet this phone almost doesn't exist anywhere on the internet. I have the same issue with apps closing as you do. I wanted to install Lineage OS yet as there is no official release for lenovo S5. I would really appreciate some guidance on which release would I install and how. Would it be via the twrp? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm a lucky owner of this beautifull beast, the Lenovo S5 K520, but with the horfull ZUI3.7. I always have been using Cyanogen and after lineage OS.
It did not luck for me to install it on the Lenovo S5.
I manage to install TWRP-3.2.2-0713 with the help of the S-Droid toolkit for Lenovo S5.
From there, I did try every rom from phh on this page : https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/lineage-phh-treble-t3767690
but the best I did get is the first logo of lineage OS going on and never stop for hours. I also did try AOSP treble Rom from this site : https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development/experimental-phh-treble-t3709659, but there I'm getting the Android text changing of ligth theme, but bothing more.
Could you please tell us the procedure and the version of the software you are using so that you are able to use Lineage OS on a Lenovo S5 K520?
Thanks a lot.

Hi i did in this way...
1)fastboot -w
2)fastboot erase modemst1
3)fastboot erase modemst2
4) fastboot erase system
5) fastboot erase boot
6) fastboot erase recovery
7) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
8) fastboot flash boot boot.img
9) fastboot flash system {systemname}.img
The only thing you should do firstly is download the firmware from a video in YouTube whose name is like "ROM Lenovo s5" or something like that and extract the firmware in order to have both boot.img and recovery.img. Hope I could help
P.s. I used phh lineage latest build

Hi everybody!
I was wondering if any of you have a copy of the original ZUI 3.7 non-Chinese stock firmware. I had trouble with my phone and contacted the customer service. Unfortunately, they've sent me the Chinese version (K520_CN_OPEN_USER_Q00011.0_O_ZUI_3.7.355_ST_180412_qpst) and now my phone is almost unusable as the rom only contains crappy Chinese stuff... :crying:
All apps are Chinese and it contains no GApps... I cannot even restore previously save config.
Please help me and send me a backup or the original non-Chinese firmware.
Thank you very much
I didn't even know the existence of an original firmware for non Chinese phones indeed when I bought it it came with a horrible chinese firmware with few translations. Did you find it? Because I want to try it too. If you didn't find it I'm also going to look for it

Hello good people,
long story short i've got my honor 8 (FRD-L09) unlocked rooted and so on, i was running HalogenOS which is a great rom, for some reason unknown to me it has bricked it'self. No problem just flashed via the sd card the stock EMUI and from there on for lack of time i've never come around at flashing back HalogenOS since i hate EMUI. Tonight i've tried but i'm not able to install any rom, i always get bootloop. I've tried RR, lineage, Carbon and HalogenOS but none of them have worked. A side note that maybe can reveal something, the only TWRP that works is the one from the OpenKirin's Team. I hope someone can help, i've haven't found anything online about this.
Thanks

you didn't even tried to read the instructions on how to install treble rom
don't lie and spam the discussion after less than 2min of troubleshooting
flashing:
1. you should be on Emui8, if not - Read the tutorial here on xda (there are a few of them)
2.read the instructions that are written on openkirin.net

I've asked this to find an answer, but the one who does not read is you, i haven't tried install any rom with project treble, all the rom that i've tried are based on 7.1.2 not 8.0.0 so the problem is another one. i've followed the same guide as the first time that i've done it, same exact scenario, but this time no results. I don't lie, i've tried so many times, and i have not spammed anything,
Wow, someone reading a post on a dead phone... Anyways,
Hi, and I've got an honor 4c and the phone has gotten very slow . I have tried many many ways to make it better but none does anything. So I had come up with looking for a custom rom for it. I tried to flash this nougat lineage for this device but TWRP returned error 7 flashing it. Also, the ROM seemed quite broken and felt not worth installing.
However, I found out that it's possible to flash P8 lite ROMs on this device. I found a post which gives hope that you CAN install custom roms on this device. Well, I tried what that post said but I got stuck at flashing P8 firmware on this device. I didn't proceed with installing it because that person said
flashing the wrong firmware could cause bricking the phone. Couldn't find any tutorial telling how could I get custom rom on it.
So, after many months I thought to look for it again. So, I ended up here. Posting. So, my question,
Can you install a working custom ROM on this phone? If yes, then how?
Waiting for someone to answer, because I badly need a ROM for this phone.
Edit: spellings and mistakes
Hello Everyone.
Been rooting since my first HTC Hero- never thought of myself as a noob until this One Plus 7 Pro! Its the US/Global unlocked model. This thing is KILLING ME!
I've followed about 5 different "rooting for beginners" threads from different sites and I still cannot get a basic, working root. I have unlocked bootloader with no issue.
I've had fastboot bootloops, lineage OS bootloops, stock Rom bootloops, stock rom booting up but wifi did not work. I've tried everything on Oxygen 9 and 10 (using the respective TWRP). I've used official and unofficial TWRPs, different versions of Magisk.
I've used the msm tool to reset this thing about 7 times! So as you can see, I'm at a loss.
The only thing I can think of is that I'm screwing something up as it relates to TWRP and Magisk and my flashing/booting process with the A/B slot stuff. Read threads on the benefits of A/B phones...but since I'm having so much trouble, I hate it!
Overall my goal is to get a stock rom rooted; but I couldn't resolve the no wifi toggle issue. I read on one thread that I just needed to flash a custom kernel. If that is the only actual fix, then I should be good to go, but I'm skeptical and figured I messed something up.
So like my title says - Is there any thread out there that someone can refer me to?
Thanks in advance.

I just reset with the msm tool, so it's back to OOS 9.5.3GM21AA.
It will take OTA updates fine up until before the 11 beta
My model is GM1917 (12GB RAM + 256GB ROM)

Hi folks!
Recently I've bought a p40 pro clone that is driving me crazy.
I can't barely use it as all the tweaks to make it look like a better phone are provoking some apps to fail. The about phone screen says that is a p40pro (without spaces), the CPU is a MT6799 when in reality is a MT6580, 12Gb of RAM but is 1Gb, Android 10.1 but it's 5.1, hahaha, it can't be more fake, but no regrets, I have what I've paid for!!!.
My initial idea with this crappy thing was to upgrade the android version to 6.x, but everything is pretty tough, at least with my little knowledge in custom roms, kernel etc.
First of all I'm not able to install TWRP on it. I can't find or make a working version:
I thought that this model was pretty similar and I tried with the TWRP included on the thread about a p40pro+, but the touchscreen after entering recovery was somehow inverted and seemed laggy: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/alps-clone-p40-pro-wish-com.4211591/
With the one at https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/unknown-china-device-p40-pro.4200617/post-85249887 it don't work too.
Finally I came to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ediatek-mt67xx-64bit-new-32bit-phone.3681861/ and I managed to make a custom TWRP which initially seemed to work (the touchscreen was fine) but the sd card data was unavailable, I was like missing but if I reboot the mobile it properly boot. Maybe because I choose an incompatible model to port from.
So, I'm running out of ideas, please can someone give me a hand on that super ultra fake thing?
Here is the full rom dump, preloader and recovery:

I'll really appreciate any suggestion on getting a new rom for this phone, and obviously how to get twrp on it, root, and if possible a rom which makes this fakephone at least useable.
Zillions of thanks in advance!!! Take care!
