[Question] Can I flash a different 'Carrier' image from 'EU Carriers' to General/US - Google Pixel 5 Guides, News, & Discussion

I bought a Pixel 5 from the UK but I do not reside there nor the EU. The Android version on the phone is " 11.0.0 (RD1A.200810.021.A1, Oct 2020, EU carriers) ".
I have unlocked my bootloader and wondering if I can flash it from EU carriers to a non EU specific or General/US image which should be " 11.0.0 (RD1A.201105.003.C1, Nov 2020) "
Will this work?
Thanks.

In theory, yes. Though, some things might not be working in other regions, especially 5G related stuff.

Yup, I did exactly that. I don't notice a difference at all, except that the GPay power menu integration didn't work (the cards & passes option in settings -> gestures didn't appear). However, I'm not sure if the build number even had anything to do with that and I just fixed it with a Magisk module for Android 10.

G955FOXM1AQG5 No August security patch.

Hello,
The August security patch has been out for quite some time now, but for my unlocked S8+ G955FXXU1AQG5/G955FOXM1AQG5 I haven't received anything yet this is the end of September now.
Does anyone know when we will be getting this update ? or else do which CSC do you recommend to switch to so I can get faster update (like the rest of the world).
Note: Location I am posting from is Morocco.
Just read this thread carefully and update manually.

Would you recommend any specific csc? One that receives updates faster ? Or a candidate for the upcoming Android O beta program.

So you didn't read it carefully. Oh well. That multi-CSC OXM already includes your CSC.

LG Q6+, looking for the proper stock ROM

I have an LG Q6+, M700AN. It's the version we have in Russia. Not sure about other countries that have the same ROM index.
Currently the Android version is 7.1.1 with the security update of September 1st, 2017.
I know that European ROMs receive regular updates and even Android version upgrades, but not the AN version.
So I started looking for other ROM versions and found this site (lg-firmwares com) with a lot of firmwares for M700.
So I'd like to know what would be the proper ROM index for the Q6+ dual-sim with NFC support, so I won't brick my phone.

Cool! And just to be clear, do you have a 64GB dual-sim with NFC?
Sorry, i thought you were meaning custom ROMs.
Ok, so I found out that the M700AN hardware is pretty similar to M700DSN.
I flashed the most recent firmware dated February 2018 and it's working fine.
Does anybody here own M700DSN and could check this link?
Code:
csmg.lgmobile.com 9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=
There should be ":" between "com" and "9002"
You'll need to type in your IMEI after the equals sign.
Using my IMEI for the M700AN model that is being sold on the CIS market, I get nothing. It's just rubbish.
Maybe M700DSN could give a more verbose result. There should be a link to the latest firmware,
In case it's there, then there's a chance of keeping M700AN up to date using M700DSN updates.

The Firmwares are located on the LG Website and IMEI is not required to Download the firmware files as far i know.
I have M700DSK and the latest FW is 16FEB2018 on 1 Jan 2018 Patch so i dont think that more recent software is available
Can the FW be flashed on Diffrent Varient Without Unlocking the Bootloader (Using LG Suite) ..?

Yeah, you can flash a different region rom without any fuss using Uppercut and LGUP.

we will have to wait for some good developer to unlock bootloader so as to allow you to install other firmware ... i have the v50 with lock sprint and it does not go in fastboot
I can unlock bootloader. Do you think that will help? This model is supported by lg for bootloader unlock. Thanks

No, yours isnt. Only the EUROPEAN V500EMs are supported, not the ones from other regions. IMEI/Device ID isnt whitelisted for other regions to unlock. (but it will tell you that when you try).
Every V500EM can go to fastboot btw, or other open market variants, just the carrier variants cant. (but, with temp root/firehose thats possible todo then too)

There isn't any. We have what we need, just waiting for a firehose to get it onto the device.
Gotta say, last time I'm getting an LG...
Hardware is great, software support is worse than Samsung, and that's saying something... At least with Samsung you can get the latest update as they supply a generic multi-region rom...
The worlds greatest hardware is pointless if the software isn't there to support it. Each iteration of Android brings greater things and here we are in Oz stuck on Android 9 with the October security patch... Pathetic....
I'm not even gonna start ranting about LG helpdesk, clueless idiots who sit there blowing smoke up your bum ...

I'm in Australia. Everytime I try to update it says I've got the latest firmware...
Whatever the rest of the world has, LG has pretty much dumped all support for us here, which is a shame as the features that have been hinted to us are awesome but alas unavailable to us Aussies...
So much for a flagship device....
Still on Android 9 with October 2018 security patch. And no update in sight...

Yes. The firmware fore Australia is
Australia

Australia

As you can see, LG has pretty much left us in the dirt here in Oz...
There are no other places still on Android 9. Most, if not ALL major OEM's have upgraded, if not all their devices, their flagship phones to Android 10...
If they aren't going to do it themselves, at least allow us to do so by producing a generic CSC specific ROM, like Samsung has...
As I say, my security patch is for October last year. If nothing else, this should have been updated...

INSTALL TWRP AND ROOT X50 PRO 5G RMX2076 (INDIAN VERSION)

Hello Everyone,
I purchased Realme x50 pro 5g RMX2076 (Indian version). I want to know how to install TWRP and root the phone with all the things working (fingerprint etc).
I am Surprised there is no official TWRP or Rooting method, there is no Development at all No custom Recovery Either. This phone has the best Hardware at Quite Reasonable price compared to other flagship phones.
I want to know the easiest method as I don't know much technical details (Newbie).
I am coming from Redmi note 4 SD. There is more than enough Development in Xiaomi phones but no Development in Realme x50 pro 5g or some other Realme phones like X2 Pro.
I hope many developers will see this come to fix this. It's now been a long time.
Thanks.
Best Wishes
I am hoping for the same... TWRP and magisk can do wonders for this phone....

Hello, I have a Stock Indian to Global/EU ROM Flash Query.
Hi everyone, I am planning to buy this phone - Indian version with model number RMX2076. version I intend to purchase is 8GB | 128GB version.
I have a few doubts and need help & answers please.
I intend to flash the stock Indian Rom with EU/Global version of Stock Rom. I am doing this to activate more number of 4G and 5G bands available on this device on the EU/Global variant, as against fewer network bands available on stock Indian ROM version. source: https://www.gsmarena.com/realme_x50_pro_5g-10097.php
I would prefer to keep the boot-loader locked post the ROM Flash and get the rest of the phone working as stock. I prefer, the security of locked boot-loader, and would like all bank apps, UPI Payment apps and Google Pay app working.
My Queries are:
Can this be done on this device?.
Will the device receive regular OTA OS and security updates for the Global/EU ROM post the Flash?.
Are there hardware changes in Global version of this phone that I should be aware of, prior to this Global ROM flash on the Indian version RMX2076?.
any and all help appreciated. Thank you.

Question Is it possible to change the "software build" of my phone?

I bought a OP9 chinese model LE2110, my software is oxygen OS 11.2.3.3 LE25DA (indian)
I want global version because this one has some bloatware and indian company cloud notifications that i dont want.
Is it possible to change it to international version? i downloaded the global one but i cant install it (local) because its a downgrade or equal to my current one. i updated to the latest version when setting up my phone.
The chinese version/model doesnt have wireless charging, so if there is a problem with compatability, can I change back to the indian variant?
note: I dont care about my data i can format everything, my old phone can transfer things for me later
sorry i am kinda new to this
I got my answer, but i dont know how to delete the post.
have a good day

Why would you delete the post instead of posting your answer? You know, in case someone has the exact same issue.

My bad.
Well the answer I got is that I can wait for the next update, and manually download the european/international version(build) from Oneplus website. It will install and replace the indian version, and supposedly I will be able to remove all the bloatware that I can't install. I can't install the current international build because it is the same number as my current one and its considered downgrading, which is not allowed.
So I will wait for the next update and download it manually. Hopefully this works.

Pro tip: disable auto downloading the software update over wifi, just so that you don't accidentally download it.
It worked, I am now running EU software and the bloatware is gone.
