Do Poco X3 NFC [Surya] ROMS also work in Poco x3 [Karna]? - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

Hi! I was wondering if I can install a custom recovery and a custom ROM following the guide for the Poco X3 NFC(Surya) in a Poco X3 (Karna). But I don't know if I could have issues although both have the same SoC. Someone has tried it? Thx a lot guys!

Ya, even I wish to know the answer to the same question.

Most custom ROMs are now qualified as "unified" and their devs guarantee they'll work on 'karna' versions -- but some are built specifically for 'surya' and I'd steer clear, if I were you. YMMV.

If you wanna stay on stock ROM, just use MiFlash (check the "clean all" option on the bottom) and fastboot ROM for Global version you wanna use. You don't need custom recovery.

Please note MIUI.EU and EU region firmware is difference. MIUI.EU based in global firmware code MI. EU region is EEA with EU firmware code. don't get it wrong.
1. Miui.eu is better for me with less bloatware and still keep miui feature. Use since mi 6x and old poco f1.
2. Indonesian language include in miui.eu
If you want try it UBL and flash global first with MI code firmware last version. Step in Miui.eu rom thread.

sure :good:
You can but it's not recommended. Different rom regions use different persist.img (use a hex editor to read it). A different persist.img has different data offsets and it can mess with things like Mi account, compass and different sensors, activation data etc.
Le:fastboot won't flash persist.img even if it's present in the ROM folder. You can flash persist.img from twrp but again, not recommended to flash another version of it.

So, you will try to flash global ROM after getting bootloader unlocked?
My main issue now in 12.0.1 is the dynamic refresh rate or something like that makes gaming experience like a crap as hell even if i stay in fixed 60Hz refresh rate

So you want stock rom?
I think none of them has MIUI Dialer (not sure), while stock will pass SafetyNet, ads and bloatware are included as well.
Then you have to do it yourself. Port MIUI dialer and debloat, adjust settings to see less ads.

Probably Indonesia, you can download the rom and unpack it to find out what's there.
poco x3 nfc has mi dialer in the Indonesia rom, so I just guessing here.
Anyone able to use miui dialer on Poco X3 - Indian variant?
I was looking to buy this device but I want the miui dialer and messages app instead of the Google one which comes pre installed. Anyone here using poco X3 Indian variant and able to use miui dialer on with native call recording please reply.

You will see several file names with ".dat.br" endings.
You need to convert it to img files, then can extract from img files.

Did you use magisk?
The safetynet check in magisk is broken at the moment.
You have to use other app to check if safetynet is actually failed.
There is a guide about Safetynet issue. Try check the guide.
Pass SafetyNet on xiaomi.eu ROM
NOTE: These steps may no longer be necessary on latest xiaomi.eu builds. Check for SafetyNet status first (preferably with an app other than Magisk Manager). While the xiaomi.eu ROM for the X3 Pro is patched against bootloader status detection...

Downgrading to MIUI11

Hello,
I'm currently using MIUI 12 and I want to downgrade to 11.
Am I right that I need to unlock the bootloader for this? I'm pretty sure there's no way around.
I'm scared that I will loose some banking apps I'm using, like that they notice that I unlocked the bootloader and don't allow the use anymore.
I only want the official ROM nothing rooted.
Any ideas? Can I downgrade without loosing L3 security?
++ edit I'm using a Poco X3 ++

Then you can downgrade with a stock rom using MIFLASH or
install a stable XIAOMI EU rom (play store certified, pass safetynet) which are roms identical to the stock but with additional options and which work better.

Why do you need TWRP? I think most custom ROMs for this device don't use it.
