Google says that some devices are supported partially - basically some revisions of a specific device may support dual mode but some may not
Works wonderfully on my s22 Ultra. The background recording is a major plus.

Yes. Devices of Oppo and HTC are not supported yet (based on Google Play official information).
It depends on manufacture itself - if they added such feature like concurrent camera (dual mode) or didn't

HTC was the 1st with dual cameras even with a propietary HTC app.
Hope you can include thos3 devices on mext update

I mean officially Google allowed using front and back cameras at the same time from Android 11+ https://source.android.com/devices/camera/concurrent-streaming
But only starting from Android 12 manufactures of some devices really implemented this feature.
I am sure that what did HTC is different and mb it is not for developers, only for HTC app.
I personally don't limit any phones within the app. I just added the flag that the app requires concurrent camera feature and Google Play automatically filters out not supported devices based on this flag

same here same phone we have this option at the camera but the plus here is that it can record in the background too
