My understanding is that they've released the base code which now can be tailored to work on our device. I think that @jcadduono who adapted 3.0.1 for our device would have to do the same with this base.

That's right!
My honest guess is that they won't be having a official TWRP for us. It's not not that popular of a device unfortunately. I've had the official TWRP app installed from the play store for a while and our device isn't listed.
Best way to check is just DL official TWRP app and run it daily.
It be awesome to have a 3.1.0 but I don't need it to do anything more than what I do now!! ?

Lol true thing. I only do backups, restore, flash things (HECK YEAH)! , clean (dalvik, cache, system, data, internal storage), factory reset, and sometimes removing files from the file manager on TWRP. I don't know what else is there to be added. (Now it is true that sometimes twrp does crashes while installedomg a rom with AROMA installer. But it is nothing that cant be fix by pulling out the battery (thanks LG LOL) and putting it back again.
Besides what the current recovery does, what more do we need the recovery to do? I know there's new bells and whistles, but it works and it's stable for this variant. So, what else do we need?

It has some enhanced ADB functionality which may be helpful for Devs doing their thing (which in the end benefits us). Also has a better partition scheme for 7.1.1 which will benefit us if we ever get that update from LG. And while it's true we probably will never get the "official" support from TWRP now that the base code is available JCADDUNODO can create a 3.1.0 for us. That's what he did on 3.0.2.
It also allows for flashing ota zips too. This is a big deal, their biggest update in a while.
Hi,
It has been a long time. I wonder if there will ever be a LineageOS for Pixel phone. Is the team short of hands? Or there's technical issue?
Thanks,
David
Try OctoS
Surely there is a better spot to ask this question lmao

I think it's because they can't include gapps in linwageOS, which is necessary for many pixel rom, but there is one for pixel xl though

AOKP ROM is based off LineageOS I believe and is in the XL forum and has a Sailfish version mentioned in the thread.
I was going to research it more when I get some spare time.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=168819
Found this link from the AOKP thread, if you get time time to try it out before I do please let me know.
Here's a link to invisiblek's fully working unofficial version. http://www.invisiblek.org/roms/lineage-14.1/sailfish/

It seems invisiblek.org is always ahead of the official LineageOS. I am using its unofficial 14.1 for hammer head CAF. I think I will try this one first.
BTW, do you know it has Google assistant in this build?
Thanks,
David

OK, I got LineageOS installed and everything seems working. However, I found I cannot reboot into TWRP recovery. If I try, I get into a factory Android recovery interface, and there's nothing I can do except force power off.
According to https://twrp.me/devices/googlepixel.html, fastboot boot using the image, then flash the zip file should get TWRP setup. Did I miss anything?
Thanks.

You have to flash the Roman then TWRP zip each time you update rom
I have never had a problem out of 5.1.5 but now that Android pie is out I would like to update. Can I jump from 5.1.5 straight to Android Pie or do I need to update to the newest firmware of Oreo first?
I would like to note that my bootloader is unlocked, I am running TWRP 3.2.1 and magisk is installed. I do not wish to lose data during the update process.
Nobody? Awesome guess I'll eventually figure it out

Maybe ... maybe Not!
As you most likely know, KLTEDV has issues with the first round of Official Los 16.1 builds.
Glad to see you have it fixed.
Did you stay with LOS 16.0, if so, which build ..hows it going now

Well, i fixed the problem by flashing the latest LOS 15.1 nightly.
And this morning updated to LOS 16.1 (3/4/19 nightly) without issues

Well glad to see you have it working. I however, started with the first build. WOW, bit crazy, and rather upsetting. (thought I had messed something up) in just in couple of days, it was all fixed for Our devises ....
good job.
So to give more of the backstory I have an unlocked one +7 pro 5G that I flash the European firmware to and what I’m trying to do now is flash a custom ROM onto my 1+7 pro 5G. When I brought up TWRP any time I try to flash any ROM, whether it be lineage or something else I get that error saying that the ROM I selected failed and I exactly sure what’s causing that to happen.

I had problems with the flash from recovery with the version 3.4.0-0 of the twrp, using the version 3.3.1-79 the flash happens correctly...could this be the problem?

That might be the issue, I haven’t tried using a different TWRP version. Let me grab that particular version and see if I’m able to flash anything

If it's not the same one you installed, try this twrp release

I would try a deep clean:
Complete reset with deletion of the internal storage
Stock firmware reinstallation via fastboot, here you find everything.
Unlock bootloader and root with latest magisk release and twrp 3.3.1-79
Installation of the crDroid rom
I have no other ideas also because I cannot see the images with the error that appears when you try the flash.

The kind of error seems to indicate problems accessing the system partition, as if root privileges are missing.
I believe that with deep clean it can be solved.

Stick with OOS... There's practically no ROM out there made to work with the 5G version of the the OP7Pro.
Only 4G version works with all ROMs , that's probably your issue.
A guy was trying to flash RR in his 5G not too long ago and he ran into issues too.
