Talk to mauronofrio. He was the maintainer of twrp. He also produced other great tools for one plus.

Nope, it barely has a working twrp at this point. Wish it did though. I grew to love orange fox on my note 7

Yes you can but they won't work.
With MIUI use this tool or Xiaomi backup.
AOSP titanium or others.
