I wonder if you take 1080p or 4k movies?
I don't have a 4k TV right now, but I wonder if it's worth taking 4k videos?
Gesendet von meinem Pixel 5 mit Tapatalk
You can switch between 1080p and 4k in the video settings
I know, I wonder what everyone is doing?
4k or 1080p? And why?
Gesendet von meinem Pixel 5 mit Tapatalk
I tend to leave it at 1080p since I rarely watch anything back on anything larger than a laptop
I don't take many videos. When I do it's usually to share with someone, so I always shoot in 1080p just because the file size is smaller.

You can record in 4K @60fps.
I use 4K, obviously. I don't understand why you wouldn't, but that's just me lol.

I'm interested in "I use 4K obviously". Why is that obviously to you?
As I do not own a 4k playback device yet, how's the Quality compared to 1080p?

1080p for smaller videos works for now...

Hey Guys,
I have a problem by some 720/1080p Videos. Some Videos don't play in stock Video Player. With MXPlayer they have very often artificials. And stop from time to time. It is the same when i take 1080p with the S2+ and copy it to my PC. Also same Problems.
Any Ideas?

Whaat ? That is a problem ? I made a video at Burj Khalifa (Worlds tallest building in Dubai) at 1080p and when I copied it into my system it did not work. I thought i must have corrupted it while transferring !!!

No i think it is not a transfer Problem. Maybe it is a firmware Problem. I think there was also a problem with the video playback with the S2. What are with you other guys do you have same problems?
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9105P
I was stupid enough to delete the video. Kill my life !
Besides I changed the settings and made it into 720P. Though maybe the large size creates problem. I will start investigating into it now !
I also try with 720p Video and have the same result. Dont know what is wrong. In MX Player i have hw decoder enabled - artifications! With sd decoder enabled it is the same.
But it is weird that it is not by all Videos only by selfmade an some downloaded Videos.
When i look HDReady Video as stream there is no Problem
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9105P
I use VLC Beta and 720p is smooth for me, though there are some pixelations sometimes.
Is the video larger than 4gb? If so, then it is because the FAT32 default file system of the sd card only supports single files up to a max of 4gb each

No it is not over 4 GB. Between 400-600 Mb.

If i want to record a video and its over 4GB then what ? :/ ..
And I removed MX Player. I didnt like it. The default player is enough to do the job. Or else there is VLC, Real Player and other well known players.
And I can PLAY all the videos but the video I made my self didnt work :S
I think it is not a player problem. Because when i copy some videos to pc it also dont work without the terrible pixel phanomen.

I think i found a solution for me. I tried some thinks out. When i save the HD Videos on internal SD there are no problems. Only when i play them from externel SD. ???? I have a class 10 MicroSD - in my mind that is fast. Maybe not fast enough.

So you mean if we record 1080p videos it should be saved on internal memory ? :/
I did. You can do what works for you. Maybe it work by the other guys normaly. But i save the videos first on iSD.

Could you actually produce a 60 fps video? I tried the trial but the [email protected] setup produced
only a 30 fps footage... :\

i record at [email protected] and play with MX Player and work very well, the frame are 30fps but video seem different.
I tested stuff on my desktop where I usually watch the [email protected] videos made
with my DSLR. I really hope it's not a hardware limitation.
maybe we must change too:
- Video bit rate over 17mbps (default) to 20 Mbps
- Video File format Mpeg4 or amr_nb / amr_wb
- Video Codec H263 / h264 / mpeg4
what your best setting??

Yes, maxed out bitrate, mp4 format, tried both h.264 and mp4 codecs.
Maybe it's the settings but I couldn't find any docs explaining what I
should do.

thats HDR.
HDR takes 1 dark pic and 1 bright pic and then combines the 2 pics to make 1 pic with good lighting
I understand that but can I setup application that after taking photo just leave one which is right
Simple question. Does the s7 or s7e have a 5 minute hard limit for Quad HD or 4K?
Thanks
There is no 5 minute limit for 4K, but i don' t know how long you can exactly record.

We all know that YouTube app supports 60fps videos.
More recently starting last year with the Galaxy S6, it also supports VP9 video codec, which reduces video size and improves quality.
Unfortunately, to enable it, Google needs to approve device one-by-one.
Now with Snapdragon 820 in the wild, VP9 is more widely available than ever.
However, Google's approval system still apparently sucks.
Victim is the HTC 10 and OnePlus 3,
both seems to have VP9 capabilities disabled.
(In the case of OnePlus 3, it just totally can't play 60fps video on the YouTube app)
We can workaround this by tricking the app that we are using Galaxy S6.
That enables VP9 playback and 60fps glory.
However, that required Xposed until now.
Since I prefer manual app modification, here it is.
Unfortunately, this requires root :/
/* Downloads */
http://arter97.com/browse/youtube/vp9
/* Steps */
Read https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-patched-ad-free-youtube-apks-t3449312
and use the installer.
Now you have VP9 and 60fps enabled.
Please note that your device needs to be 64-bit and supports VP9.
Reserved
Great job my friend. I have been looking everywhere to enable 60fps playback, without changing device settings widely, like editing build.prop on my OnePlus 3.
This works wonders.
Have a nice day!

Play a 1080p 60fps video.
Is there a way to have both the patched and the normal youtube apps installed? I know it's not necessary but it could be useful.
And by the way, do you know if the Xiaomi Mi5 has VP9 support? Or does it depend on the SoC?

It should as it's SoC dependent, unless Xiaomi decided to deliberately cripple VP9 support.

Oneplus 3 has already been whitlisted, no need for this patch.
I'm able to run youtube vidos 1080p 60fps stock version of the Play Store app.
worked PERFECTLY!!!!
thanks!!!
Works great on OP3. Also have Xposed modules YouTube Ad Blocker and Background play. Works fine
Is there a update for latest youtube? The Playstore show me a Update but i think this is the normal YT App.

I can only disable the stock YouTube app, and after I did that I just pasted the patched youtube app and rebooted but YouTube just keeps crashing out of it.
EDIT:
Fixed it by just removing everything in the YouTube folder in system root
Worked on my OP3 OOS 3.2.2 rooted obviously.
Thanks a million! I couldn't stand 480p on videos provided in 60fps only.
Now I can enjoy 1080p in 60fps. Epic win!
Uhhhm, i kinda ****ed up a bit and deleted the youtube folder in the system/app direction.
Could someone please help me with getting the vp9-capable apk to work now?
Thanks in regards and to arter97
