Hello
I have a rooted 5 II and do apps and settings backups with the app Swift Backup and stumbled upon some Sony apps which are disabled (of course not by me):
com.sonyericcson.startupflagservice
com.sonymobile.susrecheck
com.sonymobile.pip
Have someone more informations about these apps and are they disabled because of root or are they already disabled at factory state? I can all 3 enable and disable again over the app.

I have an SGS3 with cm 10.2 and the secure settings has updated and uses the new system+ but I can't remove the helper. It gives me invalid configuration in the screen to install the system+. When I browse to the system/app folder I can't delete because of wrong permissions. When I try to change permissions on the folder it already has fuel permission for owner but I can't add write for the other options. I do have root access.
Anyone have any ideas?

I've got the exact same problem on my Nexus 4 with CM 10.2.
Edit: I just played around a bit and had the new version of System+ uninstalled.
I deactivated Secure Settings Helper in Android Settings -> Apps -> All. Tried to remove the securesettings.apk under system/app via terminal and adb without success. I deleted everything relating to secure settings using Titanium Backup. When I was unsuccessful, I opend up Tasker and unsurprisingly got a couple of Plugin Error messages.
Then I thought I might as well reactivate Secure Settings Helper again, so I did and also installed the new System+ Secure Settings app. For some reason via this app, I could now remove the helper granting root permissions again in the process and enable System+.
tl;dr: Try deactivating and reactivating Secure Settings Helper in Android Settings -> Apps -> All and then remove it via the new System+ Secure Settings app.
I have the same problem, also on a Nexus 4 but with stock KitKat. I have root, but I can't uninstall Secure Settings Helper either through the app or manually.

I'm not sure how this worked for you, because the System+ module supposedly can't be installed unless the Helper is gone. I did try uninstalling with TiBu, and it said it was successful, but I think that only removes updates to the Helper, and not the original apk.
I have found that the xposed framework is causing my phone to lag while it's installed. Found in other forums that changing a setting in root manager would help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2768445&page=2
But it's still lagging would love your help I'm very new to doing background work on a rooted phone
Thanks in advance
Probably because the xposed doesn't play well with secure storage for s health and private mode.
I had the same problem on 915G and after googling, reset the phone then set rooted and set up xposed, along with the xsecurestorage module by wanam, before setting up samsung or Google account. It worked fine after that.
There are some very helpful posts on this if you Google.
I successfully managed to root Zenphone 5 built 2. 22. 40. 54 (verified using Root checker) and also the superSU was installed at the end. Now, when I try to uninstall the preloaded bloatware, I still only get the option of uninstalling the "updates" and not the entire app. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hi,
I would try Titanium Backup from the Play store. But use caution. You uninstall the wrong thing and you could have real troubles. You can also disable things in Android apps settings. But not uninstall. Disabling is safer too. Titanium backup has a freeze option, that's what I use. I'm not sure, but that may be a feature of the paid version thpugh, which I've owned for years.
And heres the goto thread for your device,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/asus-zenfone-5-zenfone-6-to-t2839984
lots of info there, and can ask for help too.
Good luck!
hi, newbie here...
i bought this S8+ (SM-955FD) for my son, flashed latest TWRP, flashed latest stable Jesse's Kernel (Exynos) and rooted usning TWRP the latest Magisk.
am trying to install a monitoring app in this device (mainly to monitor my son) .
the problem is when ever I give a simple restart (reboot); this app disappears from device !!!!! like its being removed automatically.
what i have done is installed 3C toolbox and granted Root permissions and removed the following:
- device maintenance.
-device security.
-All KNOX.
further more; disabled Google play protect. device is working just fine with better battery life.
now every time a install the app and check that it's working and functioning fine. after a simple restart the app disappears or i can say deleted automatically.
what can delete the app (considering that its a malware)!! even though all security features are removed???!?!?
thanks in advance
Hi there, I'm working on a project.
I have below questions.
1. Is it possible to backup app data without root and without adb as app doesn't allow backup. I don't want to root my phone and i don't have any custom recovery.
2. If above question's answer is "No" then is it possible that i sign and update mod of an app on top of already installed original app from play store. I don't want to uninstall previous app i just want to update app with different signature. My device is not rooted and i don't have any custom recovery.
Thanks in advance
An app's data is stored either in /data/data/<pkg-name> or in /Android/data/<pkg-name> what depends on Android version and/or app. To successfully backup these data Android OS must be rooted, AFAIK.
self-signed app will treated as other app, so this is not possible. some apps however could be downgraded to older version with adb backup allowed (for example WhatsApp)
starting with api level 30 the flag android:allowBackup="false" seems ignored
https://www.xda-developers.com/android-11-force-app-local-backup-restore-handicap-cloud-backup
starting with api level 31 different flag android:debuggable="true" is required for adb backup
https://developer.android.com/about/versions/12/behavior-changes-12#adb-backup-restrictions
so your only chance is find the proper OEMs D2D transfer app (like Samsung Smart Switch for Samsung, Phone Clone for Huawei, etc.)
