Apparently the NX rom is just AOSP with much more customization, and that's also Cyanogenmod is.

Sure !, il add it to the list of roms I will make. currently I am making a rom which I will not disclose , but after that I will make an xperia rom , touchwiz based rom, MiUi if enough people request, and il add NX if more people request . private message me if you want to test the rom I'm making right now

You won't be able to do miui until they update to the latest sources I believe. From what I gather, it's based on 4.4.4 and this phone started with 5.0
Looking forward for a nx rom too.

Since Android Oreo 8.0 will release in a few days
I just want to know that will the developers create a custom rom based on the new android 8
I have been using my Sony Xperia L for so many years & I have used from 4.2 to 7.1 All of it
and now I'm using the nougat rom its very stable and I like it very much

It's not even out yet - and it usually takes a couple of months for the most popular devices to start getting good ROM builds. The devs can't work that quickly; don't forget that these are not official OEM updates.
The OEMs get the source code earlier, and they have entire teams working on them. Error checking (and fixing) takes a lot less time when you have teams that big. That's why it seems like they release stable builds "right off the bat" - but in reality they've been working on them for a couple of months.
If the developers don't want to do it, they won't. If they want, they will. Don't nag them about this, and don't be ungrateful.

But I saw a video about Android 8 beta running on a pixel device. And I really liked it

Hello everyone, I got this device about two months ago and am going to start trying to port over some roms from the redmi note 4.
I'v noticed that ROM development has been very slow recently, and even though I'm still a student its the holidays and I want this device to have a better future.

These devices have similar specs, which is one of the main reasons why I am trying to port roms from the redmi note 4 and not some other device.
I'm going to study more about custom roms, and if I may not be successful in porting one all the p2 community should give it a go as well. Everyone seems to be asking for roms and not many people bother to build/compile them.
I'll post any I find working on here as I go, and if anyone has advice/suggestions I'd be happy to take them, being new to custom roms and all.
If you guys could inform me about other devices with same cpu, screen resolution and camera specs that'd be great.
Currently the base rom I'm working on is AOSP extended v5 and the port rom is lineage os 15. I'v managed to port the boot.img over so far.
If anyone is interested on carrying on or continuing, all files will be uploaded on mega. You'll need android kitchen and other basics to continue development.
Make sure you have a device with unlocked bootloader, twrp recovery and a nanodroid backup in case anything goes wrong.
I am NOT responsible for any bricked devices, ect but I will try to help.

I'm currently attempting to port Lineage OS 15 from Redmi note 4, with base rom as AOSP Extended.
I'v ported the boot image over but can't find the "system" folder. If anyone would help with this it would be appreciated.

I'm probably messing up trying to port lineage os 15 while using AOSP extended v5.0 as base,
however you have to port roms that are the same os as your base.
You can't port a 8.0 rom with a 7.1.2 base.
Let's give a shot.
Don't expect for expert developer, because he/she can be already busy

Anyone willing to contribute can do so, I'll post updates on here as we go, don't expect
anything too soon though.
It is easy to get system dump and modify it cuz most of the files can be replaced easily by using the base rom.
Do you have any idea of creating update script and creating the final dat package? In my opinion this is the tough section i think.

As the MIUI 10 Global stable rom rolled out on Mi8 and others Xiaomi's flagship, i'm asking if a dev can do it.

Just curious, isn't miui one of the heaviest bloated skins? What would make you want that over OxygenOS?
Curious why we want heavy rom if we have Oxygen which is very powerful,clean.My friend using Mi and its heavy bugs a lot bloatware.
One word:
Flashaholic.
We love flashing and can get tired of using the same ROM/UI again and again.
OxygenOS is close to stock android, so all the AOSP ROMs looks similar to OxygenOS.
I would love to use a different UI/UX on my OP6, just for a change.
I would actually flash a stable MIUI 10 ROM, or even Samsung Experience UI

I've tried this on my A750GN and not really good. And i've also tried many gsi roms from github (which are arm64 a only). Some work and some bootloop.
And up to now i find two of them can fully working on my device: Pixel Experience P and Evolution X 2.3. I don't know why but i see they are both avN versions. They are fast, stable, smooth and there's many good features. But things that i don't like: my device was getting very hot when playing game and battery is not better than stock rom.
But thanks to your experience.
