Because it is literally the same phone. I could not find any difference. Updates from tmo or from op. You pick. Buy the phone on layaway from tmo or buy rn from Oneplus.
That is the only difference.
Yes. Tmo claimed some sort of difference. Can't find it.

Correct but it's still the same phone. There is nothing special about the t-mobile one. They advertised like the tmo one had better 5g capabilities, but it is the same. I have an 8t bought from oneplus and I use it on TMobile, compared to a t-mobile employees' who I rooted and poured over, no discernible difference other than ram size and storage but none of that is anything important in terms of is it 2 diff devices?? Nope.

I buy a oneplus and a pixel every year. The pixels suck anymore compared to oneplus. Buy oneplus.

The T-Mobile version has sim slot 2 disabled and no assigned imei for it. Might still work once converted but only one sim active at a time. AOD is also non existent until future update or conversion. There's also more steps to unlocking the bootloader. It requires sim unlock and you need to submit a code to oneplus to get the unlock.bin but their site is bugging out for now. Sounds like it'll be fixed within the next week though.
Edit: the T-Mobile version KB2007 is still the hardware equivalent of unlocked US KB2005. Only actual difference is software limitations. Once we can convert firmware its just another KB2005 hardware amd software wise.

Verizon Availability?

I currently have the Pixel 2. Am looking for an upgrade!
There aren't too many phones on the Verizon network in the US that allow an unlockable bootloader. I am hopeful that the newest OnePlus phone will. Does anyone have any information to confirm or deny that this phone will be available on Verizon with full 4G function?
Thanks!
I'm hoping too, want to replace my P3XL with something that has a larger screen, but hate Samsung's UI. Fingers crossed!! I believe the leaked "specs" on the Oppo site last week showed it as having the proper bands, BUT as we all know it has to be allowed by Verizon before we can really use it
I bought a unlocked oneplus 6t and put my sim card from Verizon in it but had no call service so I went to the verizon store and asked them about it I told them that the bootloader was unlocked they said don't care so the gave me a new sim card still no go so they let me talk to a tech guy they did some stuff and bam it was up and running. So I hope we can do it with the 7 pro on Verizon.
I would be coming from pixel 2 XL. Bought the non carrier specific variant from Google store, not from Verizon, and put my SIM card in it, and it works great on Verizon's network, without the locked down bootloader. I'm hoping the same can be done with this device. Looks very tempting as an upgrade.
I am in the same boat, this device based on a few of the leaks I've seen and concepts, looks absolutely amazing. I completely forgot OnePlus is not compatible with Verizon and although I am not hopeful the new release will support Verizon's bands, I would buy this device 100% if Verizon supports it. :fingers-crossed:
I'm hoping we can believe the pre-order Oppo page as it lists all the same bands as the 6T..........problem is, there is the same typo in the list of bands as on the 6T page so I'm guessing they just copy/pasted. So we still don't know for sure.

Precisely - why would OnePlus want to shoot itself in the foot? Breaking Verizon compatibility with the 7 Pro would, in fact, be doing exactly that. To be honest, merely the 3a (if not the 3a XL) are rather large (pardon the pun)
problems for the 7 Pro as it is - and for me, Verizon compatibility is not an issue at all - I'm on the T-Mobile half of Tracfone, and I'm not looking to go anywhere (I'm quite happy where I am service-wise).
Problem #1 - Neither Pixel 3a has a Notch. (At all.) That can't be said of the OnePlus 7 Pro - or 6T, for that matter. Even the 3a XL is - straight-up - $479 (migrating without trade-in (Just Black)). Cheaper than the 7 Pro or 6T, or any Samsung phone (that includes the S9, or even Note 9 - both of which would stick me with a notch). While I would not *mind* OneUI, I don't like being stuck with a notch. OneUI is not the problem; the notch, however, is.
Problem #2 - There *is* such a thing as Too Much Phone, What features do you *yourself* actually *use* on your phone? The very reason why I don't look for wireless charging is that I have it *now* (the S7 Snapdragon phones - such as my S7 - support it) - do I use it? No - therefore, why do I need it? USB charging - which the Pixel 3a and 3a XL, like my S7, has today - is supported - and is a feature I use.. The camera - even, if not especially in any flagship - and this *does* include the Pixel 3a/XL - is overkill, to put it bluntly. Why overpay for a feature I would barely use? (And I don't take selfies - at all.)
How do you figure that the 7 pro has a notch? Pretty sure that's its big draw is that it doesn't have a notch or cutout of any sort.
True, Pro has no notch!

He probably added the APN for Verizon. You have to do that when you put in a new SIM sometimes.
Livestream over.......and we still don't know. No mention of Verizon
UPDATE: Gizmodo says it'll work on all carriers except Sprint.....: https://gizmodo.com/oneplus-7-pro-review-stunning-all-screen-design-thats-1834738811
Two places now saying it'll work with Verizon
https://www.theverge.com/2019/5/14/...ile-announcement-release-price-specs-features
and
https://oneplus.gadgethacks.com/news/everything-you-need-know-about-oneplus-7-pro-0195362/
I think it's confirmed to be working with Verizon on their website, also now I'm kinda considering waiting because OnePlus may release an even more beefier version later in the year.
Also with the pricing, Flagship Killer has become just another Flagship device.
One Plus confirmed by chat with me it will work with Verizon in the US

Don't think so, according to OnePlus website it has cdma bands but even if it has to be registered as cdma-less it's no big deal. 6T worked flawlessly on verizon's network! And yes the OnePlus website confirms it works on Verizon!

If this is the first CDMA-less device on your Verizon number, yes I believe you will need to chat/call VZW. I won't need to since it was already set up for my 6t for the SIM I'll use in my 7 Pro. I think it's based on the number, not the account as I have other family on my plan that have CDMA radios.

Ah, thanks. That said, I feel like rooting your phone meant more a few years back. When CyanogenMod was around and even Magisk (?) modules, I think that was the name. With the Note 8 and 9 I didn't really see an advantage of it, but that is just one man's opinion.

Correct. No root for US Snapdragon variants. There probably never will be either. If you need root/bootloader unlock go buy yourself an unlocked Pixel or OnePlus device. Stay far far away from any Verizon branded devices. They even lock down the Pixels and OnePlus

Im still trying to figure out in 2020 why people need to ask if a north american samsung device let alone a verizon device can be rooted.
Imagine if there was a search button or something like that people could use here to look for these commonly asked questions lol .
Sorry couldn't help it guys lol:angel:
His choice is clear, either exynos like Brava has or a HK or Korean snapdragon...if he wants root.
If he wants roms, kernels etc then definitely go exynos.
5g working is another story entirely but something to consider if it matters to the user.

Well Yes apparently from what this article says:
https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-note-20-ultra-root-us-unlocked-snapdragon-865/
I was going to buy the Note 20 Ultra Exynos to be able to have call recording by changing the CSC to thailand ... but if I can have the snapdragon would be much better... Can anyone that has used that share their experience with this service? I would pay $150 to have the call recording. Even if don't want the LIMITATIONS of rooting but would prefer to have the better Battery life of the snapdragon... This seems like the only way to get call recording on a snapdragon phone... Can someone help with more info on this?

What the heck are you talking about, the phone is great, battery is great (81% left after busy day), speed is blazing, camera is great, little to know issues (gmail freezes and no swipe down to answer) - surely not worth crying about and from what I read the update has no significant value - return your phone if you are so displeased with OnePlus.

That is a T-Mobile problem...not OnePlus! For whatever reason you chose to purchase the T-Mobile version of the phone along with all the consequences. I haven't purchased a phone through a carrier since unlocked phones became available. So you only have yourself to blame. I too wonder why it is taking so long for the unlocked phones to receive the last few updates...but then again I'm happy that my phone is working great...and let all the other countries be the beta testers and squash the bugs...then they can release a truly stable version for me!

Because we have full zips for Euro and OTAs will actually work. Converting to global would require the same reserve.img dumping as T-Mobile variants and break OTAs without tons of effort. Global will hopefully use OnePlus servers for the next OTA.
For now, converting to Euro is best for most 8T variants. Modem works perfectly with whatever bands your phone's hardware support.

Less bands on the China variant no 66 and 71 if you plan to use it with T-mobile. Probably better on AT&T if someone else can confirm. T mobile will probably work fine for the most part with a few dead spots
Indeed, make sure you buy a version that fits your carriers' bands.
Verify the seller first before buying that Product. Do look at the reviews also!!!
I bought 4 oneplus devices ( 1, 3t, 6, 7t) from Ali. No issues! Good prices
if you can find someone help you register a local Taobao account, that would be even better. You can get much better price, though shipping could be a problem. Ali can help you buy a lot of different products. I also bought part for laptops just for repair and refurbish.

It should be the same exact modem I would assume? So it would simply be software on said modem that would unlock the bands. You can flash the Tmobile modem to the international build and vice versa so I don't see why you couldn't here... There aren't any RSA checks like in other phones, like LG and Sammy.
If there ARE hardware differences, then it wouldn't work but I don't think there are any.
Can someone more knowledgeable help us out here?

Will flashing a GM1917 rom on a GM1915 make it think its a 1917

Recently got moved to AT&T from tmobile and now AT&T is claiming my device in incompatible because they are opportunistic. I have all but one 3g band and one 4g band so it in theory should work aside from their device whitelist. If I could change the phone to a GM1917 there is a chance the network would accept it.
My phone is already rooted and I can easily flash a new rom but would like to know if doing so would make a difference before I go through that ordeal and loss of data.
Will a rom change what the phone thinks it is or not? Thanks for any help!
No. I have YAAP flashed and it still says GM1915. AT&T probably checks the IMEI and sees it's a GM1915 and denies you VoLTE. You could fool them by changing your IMEI but discussion of that is not allowed and IT IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL, so DO NOT do it.

ok, i just hope the sim works
It doesn't matter if the ROM shows a different model if the network doesn't see it that way. You still DON'T get VoLTE. Don't show me an enabled checkbox to prove it. I've been there and it doesn't work.
