because of all my time spent searching the net trying to find solutions to all the bricked hardware I have created. I decided to start work on a website.
will be called bricked.co.uk
what do you think?
I will have sections on how to repair electronics and also contact lists for companies offering repair services

Well Fine, but I not sure about your credentials for offering a service:
"trying to find solutions to all the bricked hardware I have created."
Now maybe your site should have headings such as:
Here's a step by step guide to what I did- Please Do The Exact Opposite and You Will Be Successful!
Seriously though the idea sounds fine as a resource. I assume it will be an international one and aimed at those folks not able to go to their provider/sellers due to their warranty voiding behaviour?

Mike I like how you think. sure I made alot of mistakes here is how you can go about not making them
I want to just have one place where everyone can go to get information about their hardware and where(how) to get it fixed cause the internet is a big place and if you don't know how to search properly you wont find anything apart from penis enlargement pills and accountants for dead millionaires looking for a benefactor.......
anyways thanks for the vote of support
I do all types of repairs at my location and i wanted to start doing unbricking for xda members. I currently have the XTC clip and have rooted several phones from members and i want to continue helping the members out on this forum as i have learned alot and made my personal phone much better.
Which is the best device that has the most compatibility with phones?
Where would i get the jtag points for each device that i will be working on?
For example if i unbrick a HTC Aria the points for the LG Dare will obviously be different is there information so that i can find those points?
I am new to phone repair but have been doing electronic and BGA repair for quite some time. Thanks for helping me help you.
I looked at the Riff Box, which has decent compatibility with several devices. But if theres something better, i will invest in it.
I have a brand new rooted, unlocked TF700 I got recently, and it's bricked...
I somehow had two recoveries installed and I must have done it by accident. I tried getting to flash a custom rom, but I thought it wouldn't work out because of the multiple recoveries. So what I did was reboot, and then pushed wipe data....which is now a horrible thing to do since now I ended up with being stuck at the Asus logo screen with the code on the top left saying it's UnLocked. Pushing the VolumeDown button when I reboot doesn't take me anywhere, but the VolumeUp button takes me to APX mode. I don't really know what I can do from there though.
I've already searched through a variety of these topics with similar solutions, but it all seems for naught. I don't think Asus would take it back because obviously it's UnLocked. What can I do with this now? Selling this for parts and stuff if my LAST option I would do.
Please reply any thoughts or suggestions. Sucks that I'm such a noob on this. v__v
Thanks...
Did you install NvFlash? If so, just restore the device specific blob files. If not, ASUS charges $300.00 for a repair like that if it isn't covered under warranty.

Unfortunately I didn't. I wished there was a tutorial that laid out everything first time users need to do on their tablet in case of worst case scenarios.
I doubt my tablet is covered by warranty anymore since it was Asus unlocked. I would send it back to them as a last resort since I don't want to pay a 300 yet. I found someone else who is an expert on android locally, so I'm gonna let him see it first.
Just in case, can someone verify what they could possibly do to it? Thanks in advance!
First breaking their recovery and then trying to wipe data is the standard way of bricking the TF700 - about once every week someone does it and then asks for help on this forum, but nobody could fix it as far as I know. Most used an app named "ROM Manager", despite a big fat red warning in some of the sticky threads.
I think now your only option now (if you want to keep it) is to contact Asus and agree to pay their hefty "costumer induced damage" fee.

I know there are numerous tutorials out there about rooting, unlocking, flashing, and making backups to one's android's tablet, but I don't see any sticky topics that reads "BEFORE DOING ANYTHING, READ HERE FIRST". And in that topic, it would explain all the precaution measures noobs like me should take before we root/unlock our devices to prevent something like this from happening. It's just a thought I have since there's threads scattered everywhere and it's not helping the cause to keep searching until they may put too much.

I still want to keep this since I've only had this for a measly 2 days before I screwed it up by accident. I found a local repair business that claims they can fix my bricked tablet and root it to the way that's most preferred for this tablet. I'm not sure what they can do internally, but they say they can also do hardware repairs and fix it from there. It's $50 since I know the repairman's wife as she goes to the same class as I do. If it can work, I'd be grateful in saving myself $300.

You are right...there are too few big red warnings about the known ways to brick this device. It's not really that easy to brick because usually the external microsd card can be the savior, but the recovery bootloop and using Rom Manager are sure paths to a brick.
Good luck with local repair. The Infinity is a wonderful tablet...hope you can get it back to where it should be.
I current bought a banks Automind programmer and I love it but it locks it self to the VIN and being a Computer Scientist that I am I would like to not have this happen or develop a way to make this programmer or modify it to were I could unlock it from VIN, pull and develop custom tunes and leave it as a open source item for other people to explore Kind of like how people program custom firmware on there android phones but if I and anybody is willing to help me out I would have to warn them that they are doing this at there own risk and I am not responsible for any damage done to there programmer or vehicle.
So with that being said I have the Banks Automind 66114 i know it uses a FTDI 242R USB to Serial Adapter and has a mc9s12xdt512caa Chip this is the CPU in the programmer in it that is capable for reprogramming does anyone else have any info on how to read the programming on this bad boy or be able to pull the stock rom files from this device and be able to upload it back if bricking the device happened.
http://www.bankspower.com/ is the website for any other info.
Any luck
I know this post is a year old, but I was looking at doing something similar. Did you have any luck figuring out how to unlock the Banks?
So no one found a way or anything to do with the Banks Automind Programmer?
I was given a Verizon HTC Desire 526 for free from someone who upgraded. I was going to use it for a few projects that I had in mind, but once I found out that it's impossible to root it (due to Verizon), those projects also became impossible.
What are some ways I could repurpose this unrootable phone? Preferably useful ideas. Only one I have in mind currently is a wireless security camera, or perhaps use it to time lapse a tomato plant that I'm growing (and perhaps upload it to a blog or something...)
Or, if there is some secret method of rooting this specific device, let me know! Honestly, I'm not too afraid of permanently bricking it. However, I don't want to spend $100+ on a jtag tool. I'm happily willing to hardware mod it, and have some knowledge in the field.
