[SOLVED] Unable to use GPay after latest OTA - OnePlus 8T Questions & Answers

Hi,
I've installed latest system update 11.0.2.3.KB05BA and I'm unable to use Google Pay. Also, I've lost Play Protect certification. When trying to use GPay it says my system might be modified/rooted but I'm not even BL unlocked. SafetyNet test passes. Device: KB2003.
SOLUTION:
Force stop GPay, Play Store and Play Services.
Clear data of GPay, Play Store and Play Services.
Reboot.

Try to clear cache of Play Store and Google Play Services first
if not working , then try to clear data in next step.

I have the same problem a many others are reporting this on Oneplus community.
I guess we have to wait for the fix in next update.

After clearing cache and data the problem still appears.

Thanks, but not useful, because Google Play shows "certified". Tried this as usual, doesn't change the GPay message.

Clearing data of Google Play Services did the job for me, my device is again eligible for Google Pay.

Lucky you.
Tried again clearing cache GPay, Play Store, Play Service. Reboot. No change, device certified, but GPay moaning.
//edit: Next try. Force stopping app, clearing cache, clearing memory content for GPay, Play Store, Play Service. Reboot. This did it, see second screenshot.

Thank you guys. Problem solved by force stopping those apps, clearing data and rebooting the device.

I recently updated my phone to cm11 m8. All was fine until I opened my play store. It gave me the message 'unfortunately, google play store has stopped.' I tried the usual clear cache and data, rebooting the phone etc. Nothing seems to work. I then went ahead to uninstalling updates for Google play services. And when I realised that many apps wouldn't run on the older version I knew I was screwed. If I'm not wrong, the only way to update google play services is through the play store and my play store isn't working. Please someone help me. I feel so worried rn.

Make sure it's set as a system app, and not a user app.

Maybe the google apps weren't installed as they should have been when you were installing cm11. Try to get rid of any app that's related to google on your phone, and then find a zip folder of google apps (I suppose you can find one on cm webpage) and flash it via c.w.m.

i think you need to post to the developers of the rom to add some app gapps including the whole playstore and google services wich in flashable.zip so you could easily install
flash...
Same advice here
remove everything and flash gapps as a zip...
it will most probably work :good:

Google Play not auto-updating apps

Google Play doesn't seem to want to auto-update apps on my device, it's been like this for a few weeks since I clean installed of YNG1TAS17L, so I have to do it manually. It worked once when I set the option to "Auto-update apps at any time" but I can't risk using this as it would use up mobile data.
Any ideas on what the issue could be?

Are your Google Play Services updated?
Is your Google Play Store updated?
Did you try rebooting the device?
Have you forced stop or disabled any Google service?

Google Play Services is 7.3.29 (That's dated April 21st, but matches my Nexus 7 version and apps auto-update fine)
Play Store is 5.5.12
Also had lots of reboots
Only Google Play Movies & TV, Play Music, and Hangouts have been frozen
Also, my device installs new apps from the Play store when initiated from Google Play on a desktop PC no problem, but all the updates are still ignored, despite needing no permission changes.

Did you try changing the settings to default for Google Play Store?
Clear data and clear cache of this app
Reboot and try
If still it doesn't work, I guess you need to reinstall the OS

Is there a way to get Play Protection Certification back?

After rooting my pixel I lost my google play protection certification. I have reflashed the stock image but I am still showing Play Protection Certification: Uncertified in the play store. Is there a way to get it back?
If you're using Magisk just flag play store in magisk hide, clean play store data and cache and reboot.
With this method now my play store is showing certified :good:
