How did you get this to work with apps? I've tried messing with individual app settings and it's just not working outside the home screen. I'm on Oreo B2.

Works with immersive mode enabled wonder why it doesn't work with then navbar enabled

What radius are you all using, I'm using 30 on the bottom corners only, top no rounding (for Essential PH-1). This app also works with GMD Immersive as well.
I have the Pixel 2-style navbar installed via Zipalign Cypher's Navbar theme, but the home button lacks the animation found on Pixel devices.
Phone is a rooted Oneplus 5T, any help would be greatly appreciated.

There's an option on top of the item selection you have to change to "enable animation" or something to that effect. It's not the default. At any rate I'm currently using the mini dark ones with the swirly color dot animation when you hold home so I know it works for me at least.

Single tap home does the four dots for a split second. Back or multi-task does nothing. Single tap home does the four dots for a split second. Back or multi-task does nothing animation wise.

Sorry for the noob question, but I'm hoping you can help me out. I have the same setup, a rooted OnePlus 5t. I am running 8.0 - I can't seem to get any of Navbar apps' overlays to work. They compile, but the changes aren't seen. I know Substraum is working because I'm running Coalfield without any problems. Would you mind sharing how you got the navbar themes to work at all? I have Varefaz's Navbar Pro, Rohit Chouhan's Navigate, and also have Zipalign Cypher's Navbars but can't seem to get any of them work.

Yes. Hitting build & enable and the system ui refreshes. Within the Manager menu, the overlays are colored green, indicating they are active. I don't think anything is conflicting with this; The only apps I have effecting the navbar are Navbar Apps and Navbar Animations, neither of which have root permissions. But as a troubleshooting step, I disabled them but still no luck

No root permission? You need to give root permission if you don't want to enable Substratum through ADB

You're just not hiding the animation on a rom that already has the animation.
It says in N Navbar Pro's Play Store description that it can't enable the animation on a rom that doesn't have the animation already.

Ha! Well alrighty then.
To solve the problem, however, I've used an Xposed module called Pixel Navigation Bar, which also offers a few more features like showing your current battery level as a portion of the ring around the home button.
Has some issues but, overall, does the job.
As you know, the Samsung Galaxy A20's teardrop notch cannot be hidden from the Settings app, but
it turns out the notch can be hidden using the settings command via ADB.
This video explains how to hide the notch:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_vS_V-igW8
Go to 3:00.
The result is not as elegant as e.g. the OnePlus 6T's hiding of the notch but it is acceptable.
Thank you.
The notch can be hidden in settings.
Settings -> Display -> Full Screen Apps -> Advanced Settings -> Hide Camera Cutout.

Found it, thanks. Oddly when I searched Settings for "cutout" this option doesn't come up.
Now if there were only a way to move the status bar icons above into the black area, like the OnePlus allows.

Hi, I noticed the same thing, I don't know why they removed that option. Probably you can set it by adb but I don't know how. But you can use an app called Nacho Notch. You just download, open and trigger it in the quick settings.

Go to this oneplus forum page and see post #6. It's a workaround to access the hidden oneplus setting for hiding the notch.

you don't need the Nova Launcher
just, download from the playstore - " Activity Launcher " app by Adam Szalkowski & run it
Settings > notch display etc..

Currently I'm forced to use third party apps in order to hide the notch.
Hello. I was wondering if there is a way to hide three button navigation bar on my 8t to use a third party gesture app.
I have root and i did try Magisk Hide Props config method by changing qemu.hw.mainkeys from 0 to 1, but nothing changed. Even after reboot the value stayed at 1, but still have the nav bar..
As far as I know, they changed something in android 11 which makes that impossible.
I tried the same with fluid n.g but it did not work
There a way to do it with adb. Haven't tested on 11 yet

Theoretically root (above method) should work, it works on Pixel phones, but currently still not working on OnePlus 8T.
Don't see the problem why they removed that feature. I would gladly use the gestures on Oneplus, but the problem is that it's blocking some features on different apps where I have to press something down in the corners. I think it's because of the google assistant feature.
Why not use the stock gestures?

This doesn't mean "removing" the navbar, what you shown is changing the navigation more from navbar to navigation gestures. What people are talking here is to remove the navbar while in navbar mode, so that they can use third party navigation gestures app.
If you ask why, they (and myself too) doesn't like OnePlus' navigation gestures for certain reasons. Personally, I much prefer the old OnePlus 6 style which is swipe up from bottom left/right for "back" action.

Aka android 9 version. Android 9 also had the two button gesture option. Android 10 introduced this version of it and has been further optimized in Android 11.
Of course this is all stock android versions. Some OEM's modified it like samsung for example. Oneplus isn't responsible for this style as its stock android gesture nav. Maybe in the future oneplus will make there own but there goal is to make OOS as close to aosp as possible while still adding some built-in customization.

Yeah I don't blame OnePlus for this, and it is Google that removed android's ADB overscan feature to hide navigation bar as well. I just hoped that the root method works in OnePlus (the build.prop edit) because it works well on Pixel phones.
I am using Oneplus's gestures + Fullscreen/Immersive Gestures Magisk module, this gives me almost truly fullscreen experience. I hated the arrow key on the bottom left of the keyboard. So this solves the problem for me. Just thought I'd pitch in.

Even though u remove the bottom bar, some apps still consider the empty space there. Check keyboard for example. There is some space and a useless hide arrow on bottom left. I believe OP is looking for a solution to remove that as well(which older versions used to support using overscan). I was looking for a solution to this as well.

You still don't understand, we don't only want to hide that bar, we also want to totally disable the stock gesture so that we can REPLACE with other third party gesture app. On Android 11 the method is to use the 3-button navigation bar AND disable it, so that we can use another third party gesture like Fluid Navigation without the stock one interfering.
If you still don't understand please do not insist you do.
The only person who doesn't understand is you.
