Ex Samsung Note buyer here.
It was a toss up between the Moto X Pure Style and the Sony Xperia Z5 premium and went for the Moto on price.
I'm assuming it's not region locked like Samsung phones as I'm in the UK and need it to work out of the box. Network bands seem to be OK.
I've ordered from the states and I like that the US version has CDMA also if I need that on my travels.
So bye bye Samsung and HELLO MOTO!
I agree with you. I got a note 5 about 2 weeks ago and after experiencing touchwiz lag I just can't take it. It has the best hardware but touchwiz just ruins it. So I ended up preordering the the moto x pure for a more vanilla android experience.
I also like the subtle moto features like moto voice. I used google voice and siri often, so having an always listening feature is killer.

I always go completely unlocked.
Currently have 3 different PAYG sims from 3 networks plus some American sims though they differ from UK ones which never run out until you spend all the credit.
Maybe T-Mobile will finally break open the American market and go with the unspent credit model? LOL
Was asking just so you double checked the bands to the UK networks. I know the US version wont work with Three.

I don't have Three but can't see why it wouldn't work the bands listed are identical aren't they?
Seriously, since this got announced in May, has anyone on t-mobile gear s3. LTE gotten the software update? I'm starting to wonder if I have to figure a way to manually update the firmware soon.

I bought mine from a T-Mobile store this past Monday evening and it has 2.3.2.3 installed. Didn't check what version was on it when I bout it so unless it updated during the week and I didn't know about, that version was already installed out of the box.

They also told me to wait for good news for old Note7 owners in Canada and nothing came back positive. Search my post and similar screen shot of conversation i've had with them. Total bs. Not saying yours is too but I now do not believe anything they say.

They're just telling you what you want to hear... They also told to a guy here on xda that the snapdragon variant had an unlocked bootloader.
Beta
I do t believe anything Samsung says anymore they have lied over an over an given false info more then once..
I talked to chat support too and kept getting different answers. My bet would be were not getting the beta unfortunately and the eventually coming to Canada their talking about is the actual Oreo release.
I went to Samsung Support Chat today and enquired as to whether or not Canada was going to be receiving the Oreo Beta release - I was told that If & When - Samsung would send emails to the owners of the Canadian SM-G955W...... Did not sound very promising... But who knows? ?

Oh yeah! It's coming....soon. And the check's in the mail moonopano.
Just purchased the black note 10+ unlocked and also took the galaxy watch while I was at it. I added the Verizon sim to save me a trip to the store.
My two questions are:
Since I selected trade in on my Verizon note 8, will they take it if it's not unlocked?
Will this unlocked note 10+ allow me to flash custom ROMs and root if they are found?
1. I think they'll take the trade-in as long as the phone is paid off and in good condition
2. Only Note 10s with Exynos will have guaranteed access to root and custom ROMs. If i'm not mistaken, starting with the S9 series of snapdragon phones, root became pretty much impossible. IF root happens, it's going to be a very VERY long time (IF ever, that is).

My bad, I meant "Note 10's", as in plural, since there's the 10 and the 10+. So I was referring to those phones.

The US unlocked phones are Snapdragon. Overseas, they'll be running Exynos.

Where do you get the international Exynos version of the Note 10?
Ended up canceling my pre order through Sammy. I really want to have a exynos again for custom potential.
Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
With trade ins, it shouldn't matter what carrier or if it's carrier unlocked as long as it's in good condition.
As for potential for root and unlocked bootloaders, the chances are slim to none with any US Snapdragon model. Add to that, having Verizon makes it more difficult as the Exynos models are not compatible. If you want a phone with unlockable bootloader for use on Verizon, your options are the Pixels direct from Google, OnePlus 7 Pro, or buying a Latin American Note 9 or Note 10 that allows bootloader unlocking.

Ahhh, as far as I know for pre-ordering, you'd have to do that through either an overseas carrier or one of Samsung's overseas websites (like UK or something). Even then, don't know if any of em will ship to the US. They likely won't.
If you wait til release day or after, Amazon should sell them then. You can finally find the exynos variants on Amazon under "international version" if I'm not mistaken.

Yes. Tmobile uses: 2, 4, 5, 12, 46, 66, 71, and LTE U. I guess they'll acquire Sprint frequencies eventually.

Youo can either buy it on EBAY - several good sellers offer it there - or you can go the CLOVE UK web site and get it from them. I have purchased all of my last four phnoes from CLOVE - they have decent prices and great customer service. Fast shipping too considering they are in the UK.If you buy the phone from them and pay 20 bucks for 3 day shipping - they will ship the phone on the 23rd and you should hve it by Monday or Tuesday.
Which ever you choose, good luck!
The Exynos does not support all the LTE bands used in the United States, including band 13 which is a requirement for Verizon.
As for the Latin American Note 10+, it's too soon to know if there will be any differences. The Latin American Note 9 (N9600) took a few months after release for people to figure out how to get everything working on Verizon. Out of the box it didn't work with VOLTE, but after a complex series of firmware flashes and tweaks, it can work. For many, the uncertainty of buying an international phone with no warranty and not knowing what challenges they will face is limiting. Check out the Note 9 forum on how to convert an N9600 to Verizon and see if it looks feasible. The Latin American variants will likely be the N9700 (Note 10) and N9750 (Note 10+) if Samsung sticks to their model number structure.
Just ordered one and I looked around but can't find the answer. Does the Sprint model have the latest update that the unlocked model has?
Really looking forward to this phone.
Thanks.

If you want it and you want to be able to mod it don't go with Sprint right now. Got it 3 days ago didn't see that someone had posted it was not able to be unlocked on Sprint without I'm assuming buying the phone outright from them regardless I don't like how they did that.
I have not rooted since I got rid of my 6P so I'm not planning on doing it with this phone more than likely. I know updates won't be as quick as unlocked versions just curious if the sprint version is running the same as the unlocked. Not counting the 10 beta obviously.
Sent from my LM-V405 using Tapatalk
From what I've read the bootloader cannot be unlocked therefore it cannot be rooted. A Sprint rep did confirm to me that there is a Closed Beta of Android 10 and the wait for stable Android 10 won't be long. No specific date was given. OnePlus' reputation for fast updates is one of the reasons I bought this phone. Guess I'll have to wait and see.
Android 10 has already been released for Op7 pro but not yet for the Pro 5G.
