Earpiece vs bottom speaker - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

When listening to any stereo sound which is produced from both the earpiece and the bottom main speaker I notice the volume on the earpiece is always lower than the bottom one (about 8/10). Sound quality is a little bit different on them too. Although they still can produce stereo effect, but when compare them side by side it is pretty annoying, they do not produce a good sound balance. I tried cleaning the earpiece slit but it didn't help at all.
Does any one notice the same issue? Is it normal with this kind of speaker design or my earpiece might be clogged by some reason?

Yes earpiece is low in sound level.

The earpiece is a smaller speaker, deeper in the body of the phone. The volume of it will be always slightly lower (although not that noticeable unless you try to use your phone as a boombox).

[Q] Speakers ... or speaker ?! :P

Hi gurus,
my N5 pumps quite a low volume from the speaker... In particular, looking at the screen, the bottom left grill gives a reasonable output while the right... really low volume. I was thinking about RMA when googling, I found an article which states that:
- there's no left and right speaker on N5, just one speaker
- left grill is for the speaker, while right one is for the microphone.
If so, then my N5 is absolutely "normal". Could anyone confirm that the left grill returns significantly a louder sound ?
Thanks in advance
Just tried what you describe same result my left speaker plays louder

So... I assume that different sound volume from the two grids should be considered normal... not a defect.

There is only 1 speaker. Any sound you're perceiving from the other grill is purely leaked sound.
At this point, I thought everyone knew this. Mostly all phones on the market work this way: The G2, the iPhone line, etc...HTC One is one of the only phones that have multiple speakers.

Speakers

Is it normal that the earpiece speaker up one have more bass? Bcuz I was hoping the both speakers are equal to each other, but earpiece produce more bass and down one more clear voice
I mean the top speaker crackle a bit on some songs at full volume, I don't know if it is hardware faulty or software, should it go to a repair center?
Some people are saying there is a difference between the top and bottom but mine seems equal. I am no audiophile though honestly. I tried hard but noticed no difference so far.

Im noticing big difference between the speakers
I guess you should get it replaced then. This phone seems to have many quality control issues. I'm getting mine replaced due to light leak along right side and frame on that side is slightly bent toward the lcd near the power button.

[Q] Xperia Z3 stereo audio glitch

I noticed that the lower speaker produces a much lower audio than the upper speakers, is normal? Someone told me that is normal because the lower speaker acts like a tweeter for the upper speaker, but I found this not true as the upper speakers has more low, mid and high sounds than the lower spekear, he also told me that this answer was provided by Sony. Can you test this?

Top should be a bit deeper, if you have big difference probably bottom speaker is not ok...
Have you made it wet recently? If one of the speakers ha been exposed to water recently, it has to dry off completely before performing as it should. Another cause might be the accumulation of dirt in the speaker grills, which prevents it from vibrating properly. In the latter case, soak it in water and rinse off.
I have the same problem with mines...seems that the right channel (lower speaker) is in fact significantly softer...causing me to miss a lot of calls since only the right channel speaker is used during incoming call ringtone

One E8 bottom speaker distorts at loud levels.

Hi! Can someone please use the HTC One E8 diagnostic tool to test their speakers to see if the bottom speaker under the HTC logo distorts / rattles at the highest volume settings?
The diagnostic can split sound in two channels. My phone sounds fine in the upper speaker and also sounds fine in both speakers at quieter volumes. But when I raise the volume above 75% the bottom speaker rattles/distorts. The rattle is produced most by frequencies in the 300-600hz range(it's more profound when those frequencies are playing). Please can someone enlighten me if I have a defective phone or not.
Sorry for the late reply, you've probably sorted this out already.
Had the same problem after using mine for a year so I just went on bought a cheap M8(!) speaker and changed it over.
Since then it's spotless

Difference in loudness of top/earpiece speaker and bottom speaker when playing music

Hi, I need to know if the sound of the earpiece/top speaker and the bottom speaker in OP 8 Pro have the same loudness/power or not. For me the bottom speaker is more powerfull and louder and the top speaker loudness has "only" 1/3 of loudness otherwise I would send it to repair. I want to find out if the top speaker has a problem.
Is this normal behavior? Maybe the top speaker is only the speaker for calls made a little bit louder for playing sound so that it can be used for stereo?
Can someone test this on his/her phone e.g. you can find an option to test in settings/system/accessibilty/audio balance...?
>>> UPDATE: I talked to the support and they told me this is normal because the top spealer is the earpiece speaker made a little bit louder but doesnt have the power of the bottom one.
