dialer codes not working - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

I've the sm-n986u1 and on vzw and the only code I got to work is the csc changer.
The *#0011# and the others do not work for me. Any reason to why?

Both vzw and u1 normally have the dialers mostly disabled

Have you tired using Google phone dialer? If you don't want to side load, you can get the official release by signing up for beta.

As I said Verizon and u1 firmware disable dialer codes. They do not work. Why are you gonna suggest something else. You need to be rooted and enable the hidden menus first. This has been ongoing for many years now.

Oh wise one. Sorry I don't realize you the final and ultimate commander when it came to Verizon and dial codes.
I suggested it because it worked for me.

Not wise and all knowing just been like this for years. Google searches would show this

I found a workaround... Using the *#272*imei# method and chosing the last option... Then select another csc.

it works across all networks in Canada/USA, it shows you if you are in your home network or not
but in WIND it does even a step further they incorporated a quick menu to check your usage, and refill your account as in some other european & south america countries
A lot of the ones in the wiki/faq for other Galaxy S type phones work. I haven't ran through them all to test, though.

there are many of the codes for SGS that doesn't work on the SNS
i've not tried them all yet, just too many
i've only tried a few that i frequently used on the SGS
Does the one on the first post allow me to check the color, eg for dead pixels, I know *#0*# is for most Samsung, does this work for the sns, I'm about to buy one so I need to check it.
Thanks

HI,
I got a Nexus S and it is on the same Baseband and kernel version. These commands dont work!!
Also strange thing is, I am unable to calls or send SMSs and the GSM service says its Out of Service. BUT GPRS services work and I am able to browse the internet. I have absolutely no idea how this is possible.
ANy suggestions? My guess is the Service Domain in the Service mode is set to CS only. Need to change this to CS+PS. Since the USSD command (*#0011#) doesnt work, not sure what to do.
Please suggest.

Which device?
Sent from my unknown using XDA Labs
I TRIED calling Sprint about this today. The very nice lady with a very heavy accent tried signing me up for "premium voicemail" repeatedly. She kept on insisting I needed to download SVVM from the Play Store. Eventually I just hung up on her.
I'm having an issue setting up AT&T visual voicemail as well. I downloaded the app from the Play Store, ran it and got the "something is not right" message. I tried it several times, to no avail.

APNs fully editable through QuickShortcutMaker App

Stumbled upon this earlier today... download the QuickShortcutMaker app from the playstore.
Open it up and do a search for TEST. The last option to come up should be com.test.LTEFunctionality. Expand that, and click on the LTE test underneath of it. Then click TRY in the app. Scroll down to LTE APN Setting. The APNs are fully editable, and survive multiple reboots. I was able to add DUN, as well as proxy settings from adblock. wooo whoo! Apologies if this has been metioned elsewhere, but I haven't seen it.
Which line did you edit to turn on hotspot? Thanks!
Finally thank you!

Would also like to know. Also when I search "TEST" the last option isn't what you posted. Mine is Google Play Games (com.google.android.gms etc etc... )
This works perfectly for me. I searched for LTE and found the right one. Thanks!
Got to this part, what do I edit so that Sprint doesn't know if I'm using phone data or hotspot data? I'm on a 10 gig hotspot plan and need just a little bit more.

10Gigs/month? I go through that in 2 days, sometimes pushing over a 100gigs a month on LTE prepaid for only 50 bucks a month.
In 2017 you can do better than that, not having to dread the friggin' data limits
Just check around, there are plenty of nationwide prepaid offerings, and with a little tweaking you can do it too.
You're the best!

Ok, I have it now too. Had to manually check for an update. However, I am not liking it for one HUGE reason. All sound, notifications, calls etc are so quiet I can not hear them anymore from across the room. I basically have to have my phone in my hand to hear it and even then, if I am watching TV or anything, it is drowned out. Currently searching for solutions.

I was wondering if we could pinpoint exactly the advantages of the T-Mobile carrier Pie firmware for a T-Mobile user, as opposed to the U1 firmware? I got my OTA update Saturday February 16th and so far it's great; dark mode, auto restart, gestures, and UI improvements are just a few things to mention. The only two things that are a annoying is the removal of recent apps being sorted as a list I personally don't understand why they took this out and really hope they add it back. Second is the icons, Is it just me or the icons seem bigger? I've tried resizing through display settings and changing the dpi in developer settings, but nothing. Other than that Samsung did a fantastic job on this update

Question Change what RCS server messages connects to?

Hi everyone,
As some of you have probably seen if you live here in the USA carriers have moved to use their own RCS servers instead of jibe. The issue is they do not communicate with each other so now I basically send SMS to everyone instead of chat. Does anyone know how to force the messages app to connect to the jibe servers? I have tried uninstalling updates for messages and installing a vanilla version. You get the unskinned messages app which is nice but still tries to connect to att.
Unfortunately there is no way except to install the U1 firmware. I did it. It works wonders.

Won't trip Knox. A few things are different. Video Calling is Duo only and visual voicemail is only through the app, no direct link in the phone app. Wifi Calling and everything else works fine. Phone seems quicker and battery lasts longer in my testing.

Yep, seems to be the only fix as of now. Maybe AT&T will get their heads out their asses and fix it eventually.

Hey everyone, I installed the U1 firmware and got the Jibe mobile confirmed and rcs back up with Google Messages from APKmirror but now the color of RCS messages is a weird shade of blue instead of the dark blue I had on my previous phone. is this something i'm doing wrong somehow? Samsung messages drove me crazy with their color scheme and I needed messages back to normal but now the off color is a little upsetting.
I can't find anything on it. Thanks

I figured it out, I ended up uninstalling app and clearing cache and data and reinstalling the apk.
Wait, does the U1 firmware also fix the SIM Card Manager utility to properly select which SIM is used for data, calls, and texts?
It sounds like this is what I need to install.
EDIT: Nope.
