Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I change the audio settings like codecs, bits per sample, etc., in Dev Options, back out, go back and they're back to default values. They will never stick. What am I doing wrong?

I use dev settings for dpi and deactivating the animations, and they do stick here

Are you changing Sound Settings? My DPI and animations don't change.

When I want to enable hotspot tethering I have to go
home screen ->menu-> settings -> wireless and networking -> tethering->mobile->enable
Thats a lot of clicking. Is there some way to get a shortcut? I wish I could stick in the pulldown instead of auto-rotate which I never change.
This is on stock.
You should at least be able to add a shortcut to your launcher for Settings, perhaps even down a level or two.
A non-stock launcher may provide more shortcut options as well.
Without changing the framework (part of the ROM) you can't change the choice of toggles, that I know of.

Q: Is it possible to change keyboard tapping sounds level?
Is it possible to do that with the stock keyboard?
I haven't found an option for that. There's just an on/off option.
Yet I could do that, in the past, with my Atrix smartphone, with Perfect Keyboard (PK) set as a default keyboard. I was used to keep the tapping sounds very low. A discreet but useful option.
Now, with the GNote 10.1, the stock keyboard is essential to give me the option to switch from keyboard input to handwriting input and vice-versa (PK doesn't give you that option if I'm not mistaken...).
So is there any workaround for that?
Settings - Sounds. Adjust system slider.

Yes I knew that. But it changes all system sound levels and not just the keyboard tapping sound level.
Anyway I'm trying that.
What other sound levels does it change?
Samsung boot sound is the only other thing I can think of off the top of my head. App, phone and notification all have a separate slider.

Hey Peeps,
Long time Droid X user, and something I noticed was how g-damn slow the opening/closing speed the folder open with the multiple apps within. the animation is pretty and all, but geez...could it be any speedier??
I've messed around with the Settings>Developer Options, and the:
1) Window Animation Scale
2) Transition Animation Scale
3) Animator Duration Scale
Changed them to: 0x - 10x, and it still doesn't have any effect on this folder speed? Anyone else got any answers?

Change those settings in Dev Options to 0.5x or 0.0x. You may need to reboot your phone for the setting changes to take effect. Hope this helps.

Thanks GreenMunky. I should've probably expanded on what I mean between 0x-10x, and I've tried everything in between those #'s including the .5 or 0.0. But I haven't tried the reboot option, so THAT is a wonderful idea.
I'll try messing around with the settings then rebooting and seeing if that takes any effect. Good idea. :good:
Yep, that fixed it with a reboot. Better now. Thank you. A good reboot fixes everything, hm.

shoud be this sir.
Regards
I believe the YouTube app is essentially the same, it detects the LCD resolution/DPI of the device and loads the corresponding version accordingly. Thus, to enable Tablet UI requires changing settings like DPI of the device or if you use Xposed Framework & Settings, then to manually edit those settings for YouTube app.
Do correct me if I am wrong.
Thx, it worked as a sharm!

No, any Youtube app that newer than v4.0.23 then it doesn't have 3D UI even you change DPI setting.
Here is screenshots of my Youtube 4.0.23 in 3D UI.

Ah I see, so this is the change in overall UI that people were complaining about sometime back, thanks for the clarification!
Is there an easy solution to increase font size of apps and folders on the home screen. Having problems to read them. They are so small.

Oh i see..not sure if it will make a difference but maybe you can change the layout off home screen to 4x5 and see if it's better. Not sure if there is any other way around it

I use Nova Launcher Pro. It has the feature to adjust the font size for the apps label

Just shrink the dpi settings from the 411 stock. Go to developer options, if you don't have it enable it by going to settings, about this phone and tapping the build number a few times.
Then developer options in the bottom of settings. In drawing options you'll find the number. Change lower to increase all sizes. Don't go too low. 380 maybe. Try it out
