Hi,
I just got my pixel 4a and I it's not working.
It detects the sim, I can see the name of the carrier, but no service.
I tried factory reset, 2 different carrier sims, both working on different phones, both were detected by the pixel 4a, as stated above.
I can not switch to manual selecting the operator and when I try to call a number it says to turn off airplane mode, but it is not even on.
I did the *#*# bla bla and it say radio of and I don't have an option to switch on.
Bt, wifi, nfc are working.
I was bought from gstore germany and i'm using is in Romania.
On google help forums I saw many similar situations but nu solution.
Hope to find one here!
Hi, Same here.
couldn't find any solution for this.
Not sure if I have the same problem but I have issues staying connected while use google Fi. The connection seems to be intermittent.
Also, my phone crashes every time I manually switch carriers and open my messaging app.

As the the title suggests,
My dad's boss purchased this phone and while it works with any sim you place in it, upon turning the phone on, it basically summarises the following,
You have inserted a USIM that is not part of LG U+, and as such will be data locked.
(not word for word quote)
Now I take this to mean that the phone was carrier locked to Koreas LG U+, but the phone works here, and phone calls, and 3g speeds, but no 4G/LTE.
The current firmware version on it is 4.4.2 with I believe G900LKLU1AND3_G900LLUC1AND3_LUC
Now I've tried many different things to try and fix this;
I've read that 4.3+ version is bootlocked, (not exactly sure what this changes)'
I've tried flashing an Australian SM-G900I firmware (thinking the bands will be fixed, as its a software not hardware issue as far as I can tell)
Upon trying this, Odin throws a failed error, the download mode on the phone freezes, I can reboot it, and it's all good and dandy.
I then looked around and found that its possible to put in a SIM unlock code, however I query how that would work as the sim already works, just not LTE/4G
I tried Chainfires Region Unlocker (yes I know it said only tested on Note 3), which said succeeded, but actually did not enable 4G.
And I also saw a rumour that, if you place a phone call for 5+ minutes it will unlock said phone restrictions. In the phone logs it does show a phone call occurred previously before this phone was purchased, not sure if it was 5 minutes, but this may have been the case.
I'm stumped as to what can be done to flash this phone (or whatever can be done) in order to force it to allow the LTE/4G Networks,
Just to re-cap for the tl;dr,
4G/LTE not connecting as the phone mentions it restricts it due to being a NON-LG U+ SIM upon turning the phone on.
Please help ?

Hi
I also have g900L and had issue with LTE at the beginning But I resolved the issue by the following;
Please dial 319712358 and they will show you a box where you need to enter password then enter 0821.
This will lead you to the hidden menu page where you can find network mode where you can switch it to 4g mode.

I will pass this info on to the guy that owns this phone (my dad's boss) and hopefully all good,
Thanks man ,
Will post back here once I find out if it works on his phone.
Hi, just wanted to let people know I've had this same issue. Bought a G900L online and the network would connect to Optus' 4G/LTE for a few minutes at start up then will automatically go back to 3g. The solution above seems to have allowed my phone to lock to the 4g network.
Thanks
Hello,
I am experiencing a strange issue with mobile data, the most similar thread I could find about my issue is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/fix-workaround-mobile-data-connectivity-t1149716
I am using Samsung J1 SM-J100ML, Android 4.4.4, Kernel 3.19.17-366995, Mar 26 2015, bought new as unlocked rooted
The phone was purchased new and everything worked great for a few months. Recently I took a short trip overseas to Australia and bought an Optus SIM card and installed their android app from Google play (this was the only change I can think of that could have caused my issue). Upon returning home and using my normal SIM, I found my phone is now constantly switching between HSPA and HSPA+, sometimes many times per minute. This interferes with web browsing or using chat apps, as the connections seems it must reset, which takes a few seconds each time it switches. This issue is making is incredibly frustrating to use the mobile data now. I ruled out issues with the SIM card, no mobile data issues on my other Samsung devices in the same location.
From my searches on this forum, I want to try to access the setting "CHANGE HSPA REVISION" so I can lock my device to a frequency to prevent switching, or disable Fast Dormancy.
I tried codes such as *#301279# and *#*#9900#*#, but they are not working. Uninstalled Optus app and threw away their SIM card already. I also tried starting the phone in Safe mode, but I still noticed the mobile data issue.
I can access the ServiceMode using *#0011#. I tried many combinations of selecting "Back" and entering "Q" then "0" or "00", or "Q0", "Q00", "Q0000", etc.. but nothing works.
I called Samsung for help, but they never heard of ServiceMode, and recommended a Factory reset.
My options as I see it:
1. Factory reset (long process to backup all data, reset, restore... I want to avoid). I suspect my issue is software related and will fix the issue, but its not guaranteed.
2. Find the correct "Key Input" code so I can use the ServiceMode and change settings that may help.
3. Buy a new phone.
Any ideas? Any one know the correct Key Input code to get farther in ServiceMode for this device? Thanks.
Hi! I'm having some mayor problems with my OnePlus One.
For some time I have had problems getting calls and sms when using 4G but it seemed to be a problem with my carrier but 2 weeks ago I dropped my phone and the screen broke so I bought a new screen and replaced it. After that the connection to my carrier dropped randomly and now after trying to fix it in different ways I can't get any connection at all with any carrier !
What I have tried so far:
Factory reset
Reinstalled CM
Put paper under the sim for tighter fit
Turned the radio off and on and restart phone
Change pin code
Replace sim-card
Tried different carriers on my phone (my simcard worked on other phones so it is the OPO that is the problem)
Total restore by fastboot-flashing
Installed OxigenOS 2
Tried all modems from the modem collection on CM and Oxigen.
Retyped the APN by hand
Opened the phone again and checked that all cables are connected well
Tried manualy connect to my carrier under Network Operators
For a short time of maximum 10 seconds I got a 4G connection twice in now 3 days of trying but then it stops working again. It feels like a hardware problem BUT I can see a lot of different carriers under Network Operators but when trying to connect it loads for ever and then says "Can't register to your carrier". I called my carrier and thay said nothing was wrong from their end and when I tried on other phones it worked flawlessly.
I'm really out of ideas now and I don't know where to go from here. I really hope someone of you knows that might be the problem!
Thank you so much!
If imei present you can try mobile phone exchange offer on flip kart like online stores. When this happened to my phone I did it , very easy.
Sometimes opo dont search available network or wont register on any network.
Sulution: go to access point and reset it to default first then go to network and try to search for network n if ur able to search then try ro register manually and if it does not work then go to dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#* then click phone info and select the lte/gsm ato prl mode and then click turn radio off and again tuen it onn then smsc refresh and update ( i dnt remember it correctly) if that dnt help then ur network antena is damaged
Somehow my s8+ loosing reception all the suddenly.
phone has never been dropped.
i am loosing cellular signal all the time. no mattere where i am.
first i thought it was software problem, an did all the right things. safe mode, checking third party apps,
hard reset, an all that.
then i downgraded the room back oreo to see if it helped, no luck ;(
changing sim did NOT help either.
any suggestions? i have no warranty left on the phone as it a bit over 2 years old.
Mine is doing the same thing, even with wifi. It started after the most recent update. I have been googling, but haven't found much so I assumed that it was localized to me. I have never had connectivity issues with this phone before.
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I am having the exact same issue, it all happened after I updated to android 9, even if you downgrade back to 8 it doesn't fix the issue, has anyone managed to find a solution ? Like henbone11 mentioned suggested sites with fixes from Google do not work. Thanks in advance
I was thinking bad modem software? Is it possible to get a older modemsoftware onto the phone with PIE installed?
Same problem here. Have not done any mods, always accepted the official updates.
Cant make or receive calls. (sometimes can make one or two calls right after restart). I do get text message notifications about missed calls. GSM data not working (sometimes seems to work for a bit but not enough to load a page or use maps.
WiFi and Bluetooth still work for me. so I'm using the s8 with another older phone for WiFi hotspot and calling.
Have done full factory reset, uninstalled all apps aso. Nothing brings it back - phone repair shops say they haven't heard s8 having these problems.
I have the same issue.
One day after I restarted my phone, it suddenly said no network connection. I did factory reset too, didnt fix it. Changed sim cards, still error.
I downloaded a widget that was supposed to turn the cell radio on and off. Cant turn the cell radio on either
Network Connection on s8

Hi,
This issue is quite easy to fix. As modem performance (connectivity) is linked to model configuration. Another word for this is CSC.
It is fine to change your CSC. Download a benchmark tool to monitor your connectivity and record values and do not feel afraid to update / change your CSC.
It can take a while to find the right one for you, not it will be worth it. Don't worry.
Note: CSC changer can be easily found in XDA.
Note: a restart may be required to take the configuration into account.
Cheers

Hi.. i want to do your solution.
What benchmark tool to use? And is there a tutorial for the process?
Thank you so much for the idea.
I moved to another country and used a local sim card, worked for a couple of days and then it's suddenly no network.
IMEi still ok.
Phone still detects my number.
I've tried
resetting network setting
factory reset
Flashing latest unbranded firmware via Odin
Still no luck.
The mobile radio switch won't turn on.
Ping test fails.
Sometimes I wonder if this is a hardware issue.

Why would this work? Phone worked normally before. Same country/same provider. Sometimes still connects to data network for a minute and then drops all cellular connection again.
Why would changing CSC work.
Asking because changing CSC is not easy for me and I don't see why would I need to change it if it worked perfectly before. NFC payments worked(still work) , data/voice calls worked perfectly for 2 years. Then suddenly didn't.
I had this phone running with this SIM for a couple of years with LineageOS with no problems. Its a Xiaomi redmi note 4X.
Yesterday I stopped having service. I contacted the phone company and they said its not theirs. The problem is that it says there is no service and when trying to search for networks manually it says "error searching for networks".
I searched and there is a solution for it if it has MIUI which is to enable the radio or something like that, but following the steps I dont have that menu. I tried messing with all the config I could but nothing... Tried moving the SIM to the second slot, nothing. IMEIs are correctly set. Wifi works correctly.
I dont know what to do... If its a internal component broken, which one could be? The motherboard or one of the small ones?
I really need help...
