Mine is working and I'm in T-Mobile also.
Same issues on tmobile it never sees itself completely setup

No. I have a Pixel 4 XL and it still shows lte. Maybe because of your service provider?

With providers coming out with 5G they might want a way for you to distinguish between 4G and 5G.
