I'm currently on Oxygen Os A11 Open Beta 2. I noticed, since closed betas, that after first launch, some apps crash. They run alright after first launch (If I unninstal and install again the app, it works again) but after that they don't open at all. Is it because they weren't updated to be Android 11 compatible or something else? Anyone else facing this issue? One of the apps is tvs show tracking app "Hobi". If anyone could test it I would appreciate it. Thanks.

It works on my side, I'm on Stable OOS 11, I've opened the app multiple times and it works just fine.
Try to upgrade from Open Beta to Stable

I had a google cam app installed for the longest time that ran flawlessly, it was a joy to use. I deleted it to install an updated version and my decision has been the bane of my existence since. I've tried various nougat apks and most crash while a few will run but will not perform the blur effect as my original install had done.
Can you help? Thank you.

My Gcam was always crashing, regardless of what ROM or what version of Android I'm using.
I'm currently on Pie , I'll roll back to 3.2 and see if it works fine.
For those who want to install as a SYSTEM app
I used the 3.2 version in Oreo (crdroid and RR) and now on RR Pie always as a system app. In Oreo I remember that it crashed whenever I chose any mode other than normal (panorama etc.). What fixed all the issues was a "double install": After moving app to system and reboot, browse to the /system/priv-app/GoogleCamera and install the apk from there again. An update app dialog pops up, though it's not an update. When the "update" is done, everything works flawlessly! I got a "can't connect to camera" error when launching it the first time, but after a reboot it's okay. It worked on Oreo and it works on Pie so far.
I must say that I used it briefly on Pie as a user app. It also seemed to work fine like this.
I personally use version 3.2 posted on 4pda forum. This one has slightly different package name so Google Play doesn't try to update it. Can't upload .apk here as it's too large.
My device is decrpted, rooted and custom ROM installed. Whenever I force close the OnePlus Gallery app and open it again sometimes the app is so slow to show the photos. And when I update to any version even the latest 3.3.2. the only working version for my device is 3.1.48 but still with same problem as stated before. And when I got to playstore to update the app it says it's not compatible with my device. Is there a way to fix this issue? Or is there an specific OnePlus Gallery app version that works and stable?
It is just hard to let go the OnePlus Gallery app because it suits to my preference.
TIA.
Hi All,
I got tired of waiting for HTC to update my U11 that was still on Android 8.0 so i came back on beloved XDA after a few years of desertion (first phone i flashed was HTC Magic, almost 10 years ago) and installed Lineage OS 16 on this U11.
It all works great, thanks to developpers, except that i cannot record at 1080p/60fps any more. The google camera app doesn't have the option, and the HTC camera crashed when i select 60fps.
Is this a known issue of the rom or is there a fix ?
Thanks !

Using a LOS based Pie rom, a developer suggests using this version, I just tested it and all functionality seems to be working with this version

Thank you ! For some weird reason, i wasn't able to install the recommended app. At the end of the install i'd get the message "App not installed". I tried a few more and the only one that worked so far is the Gcam Lite 6.1, which does record in [email protected] fps !!
I suspect the MGC camera apks try to update my actual install of Google camera and it fails to do so, as the Gcam lite installs a new one. I tried to uninstall the Google camera but i guess i would need to root the phone for this ?

That's correct, you would need to uninstall gcam completely for the recommended version to work.
If your current install came with your rom, and that's what it sounds like, it's probably a system app, and can only be removed with root

Great, thank you for your answer!
Just curious if anyone has try to install the Google Camera 7 on the OnePlus 6 yet?
I did try but the version I found was beta and it didn't work at all. I hope that the stable version will be out soon!

Beta or stable, it won't work for our phones unless it's modded. There is an existing modded GCam 7.0 right now, but the modder decided not to release it yet.
Only settings work, everything else doesn't. Tried on Pixel Q and OBQ. Tried to force disable crashing but it didn't do anything. But Arnova sooner or later will port it so don't worry. He's amazing when it comes to GCam.
OP7 Cam also must be trash...i prefer Gcam anyday.
I couldn't even get the camera to install on my OnePlus 6
Give it a try :

FYI, just tried the 7.0.009 version, and the Camera app crashes after granting permissions.
You should be able to launch without crash on Android 10
