NATIVE SIP functionality is built into the stock ROM, Here is how I found it...
First, you'll need to download Launcher Pro Plus (go to 4 Shared and find the app). Once downloaded, longpress on your homescreen and chose "Shortcuts", then "Activities", then "Phone', then scroll down to the "Sip Settings" listing (which accesses com.android.phone.sip.SipSettings). Click on it and it will make a shortcut on your homescreen. You have found the SIP Menu built into the framework of your stock ROM! Below the Sip Settings option are two others under the listing "Phone", which access com.android.phone.sip.SipEditor, and com.android.phone.SipCallOptionHandler. Hope this helps everyone out. I poured through line after line of code only to realize the answer was under my nose the whole time!
{{{NOTE: The two options in red do not open up to any menus, but the first one in green is a GO}}} FYI, I don't even think you need to be rooted to do this.
Also, there are settings to mess around with the SIM lock and SIM PIN, carrier settings, and other functions and menus that I always see in the system apps but can never seem to access. A lot of these shortcuts open up to user interface menus. Awesome!
And props to Arrrghhh, you indeed were correct in assuming that it was the carrier that probably limits access to SIP options. However, it seems that it is not actually removed from the build, only the option is removed from the Call Settings Menu, and the settings are somehow disabled from sticking, unfortunately. Check it, once you access the SIP Menu, press the scroll back button in the very top left-hand corner of the page. It'll drop you back off at call settings. Is there a way to possibly edit the actual Phone.apk or Settings.apk, that one may replace the SIP option back in the menu??? Hit me up.
Nice to know its a bit ugly to be forced to install an additional launcher just for the activits, but maybe after setup it could be purged.
also nice now being able to disabl sim-pin (i searched for it in the native menu but did not find anything)
Only question I have so far:
how do one make an actual SIP/VoiP call with native phone app?

Well, truthfully I haven't had time to enter my SIP credentials and test it yet...but will later and will post results.
I believe that once info is entered and account is set up, it should ask when I make a call whether I wish to place it via voice or internet (data). We'll see...

Yeah, follow this link...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5728982
It will explain what you need. I'll also give you another provider I use (Ekiga), but need to find my damn SIP account settings before I can share how to use it or even post my results from the test with stock settings in call settings.

Nice you found it!
In order to modify this stuff (which is do-able, but can cause bootloops if not done correctly) you will probably need to de-compile the APK.
Otherwise, if you had the source - you could just modify the overlay. But I would think it's still possible - or even some other way to launch this app without having to install a 3rd party launcher.
You can use activity manager. eg.
Code:
am start com.android.phone/.sip.SipSettings
in adb or terminal emulator.

I didn't think Sprint blocked any specific type of traffic, but who knows... I've never tried to use a pure SIP provider on my phone.
btw you can also use Apex launcher (setup is like described above)

So, I have downloaded ROMzilla from XDA member digitalhigh, and am going to decompile some stuff and see if I can throw it back together and have it work. As it turns out, everytime I enter my SIP credentials and exit the SIP menu, the info I entered is automatically cleared. So there is some code that needs to be changed, if not within the Phone.apk then within the android framework. I am going to work on my PC with the stock ROMs that ShabbyPenguin posted and test it in Eclipse first. Let me know if there is any particular approach I should take. Thanks.

Yes, however the activities included for options in ADW are not nearly as extensive as Launcher Pro's nor do they include SIP settings...sorry, I should have been more precise.

Of course they are, to find SIP settings you need first go to "Phone", when you tap it it will expand and you will find SIP settings there.
At least in paid version ADWLauncherEX, but I would be supprised if free version would not support that.

Oh, that was the reason, I indeed was using the free version. Have you tried getting any SIP credentials to stick? I think that some rescripting is in order to do so; Sprint's devs probably disabled it somehow of course. But if you could check that it'd rock

They don't stick. I don't think that any launcher would change that. Launcher is mearly a tool to access this settings.

I have a T-Mobile G3 and had a similar experience. I install the app and open it. I select several apps to include in dual window and hit the "Apply" button. Then a button appears that says, "Reboot..." and that button does nothing. So I reboot the phone, and none of my changes are there. When I look at the app in app manager, it shows no data stored for the app.
I uninstalled, downloaded and installed again with the same result.
I would love for this to work. I wonder if it is conflicting with some other root app...an xposed module or something.
Guys,
You can enable all apps to work with multi-window if your rooted.
All you need to do is edit the build prop info

Set persist.splitwindow.support_all=true and reboot.
But I'd prefer to pick and choose what apps can work in splitview. It's a pain to scroll through the entire list to find that one app that's about 80% of the way down.
Doesn't work for me either..using the build.prop edit for now
I would like to say thank you to those who've bought the app, so i've uploaded a new version that support:
* hiding system apps
* hiding lg apps
* alphabetical order
Thank you for the support

I've searched through the Verizon build.prop multiple times and haven't seen that line yet. Can it be added?
Edit: Never mind. Saw one poster say that the file was to big to be seen in Root Explorer and to use Rom Toolbox. Worked like a charm.
Sorry I cannot post pictures of the problem because this is my first post... Would be so much easier when I could.
Hey guys,
yesterday I installed the Helios 7.7.0 ROM and I just have to say - awesome work! Thanks to the developers.
I already had a triggered KNOX-Counter but the ROM emulates it to 0x0, so I can use all my KNOX-Apps and also have full root-support - nice .
There is one little bug (?) I found.
I can't go to Call-Settings / RCS Setting / Advanced Calling & Messaging .
When I tap it - nothing happens.
The actual problem with that is that I have this annoying symbol in my statusbar (looks like "JOYN"-messenger).
I just want to disable it. Can you help me?
Thank you.

That's the rcs services icon. You can disable it by disabling rcs services if you don't use them.
To disable rcs services you have to add the imssettings activity on nova, launch it and disable them in those settings.

It's not possible on oreo, I tried updating it since some lines have changed in bools.xml but it didn't make any difference. So you have to be rooted.

I can't remember all details anymore to tell the truth, but I remember it didn't behave consistently and that all alternative "navbar" apps were "shown" ABOVE non existing navbar (i.e. you had to slide from above the non existing navbar), also problems with keyboard etc.
No good.

I used the adb commands in this thread.....https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/themes/how-to-enable-true-immersive-modes-t3554299 to disable the nav bar when I was on 7.0
When I received the over the air update to Oreo 8.0 the nav bar was still disabled on 8.0.
I've now gone back to 7.0 because 8.0 refuses to switch bands on three uk leaving me with no signal unless I switch bands manually.

Hey Guys! I just got my Nokia 8.1 today and it came with the notch hidden. I was surprised when I could't find the option to turn it on in the developer settings where it should be named Full Bezel.
So I tried googling it (duh!) and I've seen a lot of people complaining about it but there was no easy solution., just something over SDK or something, which I don't really know how to use.
So basically the option is hidden but it is still in the settings.
Soooooo I got an Idea and tried this:
1. Install Nova Launcher (you don't have to use it, just install it)
2. Tap And hold on home screen and go to widgets
3. Chose Nova Launcher - Activities and place it on home screen
4. Scroll Down until you find settings and open it
5. Now scroll all the way down until you see Status bar style (.settings$NotchSettingsActivity)
6. Select it
BOOM! A direct shortcut to the Full Bezel setting!
Hope this will be helpful to someone. :fingers-crossed:

Btw, if you chose System UI demo mode from System UI you'll get a System UI tuner where you can manage icons on notification bar. I've added a headset icon because it's not showing by default when it's connected.

Yeh, yeah, I saw that, too, but then only a small percentage of users got the update. That's why I had to find an alternative solution. And still there is no update in my region as well. And it's March 11! Hopefully they'll skip the previous one and give us the March SP update.
Edit: Just got the Feb... I really was hopping they'll bundle it with March SP but it doesn't matter. Hopefully the next one wont be delayed as much.
Anyway, even after the update I don't have the option to turn the notch on and off directly from settings.

You can download Settings Database Editor from Playstore. Look for Notch full bezel and set value from 1 to 0. Works on my european model.
the update didn't remove this ability
They only moved it to another place away of developer options
So , Just navigate to the Display Option > Advanced >Full bezel
and it lays there

As i have read this article, i have realized, that there are many things about my nokia i didn't know about/ God bless you for that. I use Microsoft Launcher instead of Nova, so i found Activity Launcher in Play Store, that does pretty the same thing as Nova shortcut. God bless you.
Just want to mention that if someone wants to hide the notch but can't find the option in Settings, try this app called Nacho Notch. Works really well. Also has adjustable dimensions for the status bar, navigation bar and the corners of the display
