I got Nova Launcher's gestures to work for a while BUT now the double press wont lock the screen anymore; it wants me to give it access to accessibility (which I have) or to give it access to device administration (which I dont want to)
Does anyone know whats going on?
There is NO Soft Button to control Volume in MIUI 12?
So I added a Volume Control app which also asks for Accessibility permission which I gave it BUT still it wont work
Does anyone know whats going on with Xiaomi, Poco Launcher has double press to lock though? It seems to limit access to Accessibility (no pun intended) for third party apps?

I used to have Widget Locker before I started rooting and using custom ROMs on my EVO 4G, and it worked very well.
I have tried CM7 and Gingerbread-EVO-Deck(1.2), and both have issues with Widget Locker. This first is that not all widgets function properly. I can deal with that and make adjustments. The second, however, is that the "native" unlock screen stays active, so that I actually have to unlock and then unlock again to access the phone. Any ideas for fixes? Or is this just an incompatability with AOSP Gingerbread ROMs?

Ok, here's where it gets tricky, but not so much.
I found a way to make the WidgetLocker lockscreen completely replace the stock lockscreen and to make the volume keys work without waking the phone.
A little background info: The stock lockscreen is what prevents the volume buttons from turning on the screen (ie when you're highering/lowering volume of music with the screen off). Once you disable the stock lockscreen, using the volume keys will turn on the screen. Here's how to fix everything:
1. Disable the stock lockscreen in CyanogenMod/Advanced Settings -> Tablet Tweaks -> Disable lockscreen.
2. In WidgetLocker settings, go into, I believe the Behavior menu, and check the Allow Volume Control (or whatever it's called).
3. Download ButtonRemapper. Open it up and find Volume Up and Volume Down. It'll say "W" next to them. Change it to NONE. Hit apply, your phone will Hot Reboot. Even if you decide to stop using WidgetLocker and use the stock lockscreen instead, you shouldn't need to change these back since the stock lockscreen disables volume button waking anyway.
4. Enable Root Helper in WidgetLocker settings so that there isn't a delay when turning the screen on and off.
The only "issue" is that when you first turn on/reboot the phone, you'll hit the homescreen, since the homescreen is disabled and WidgetLocker starts up after the phone turns on. But that's it. After that, everything works perfectly.

Which widgets aren't behaving properly? There are some settings in WidgetLocker to disable the "Dragging Disabled" tooltip and to adjust widget space and disable widget interaction, etc. Just look through; it took me a while to notice.

Thanks a bunch, I'll try those sugggestions out.
Tried disabling the lock screen, seemed to work. The only trouble with this solution is that disabling the lock screen also disables the security (passcode/password).
Thanks again.

There's definitely a way to use a password, although I don't know if it requires disabling the lockscreen. It's in the WidgetLocker FAQ.

Cool, I found it.
With non-Sense, the WidgetLocker will hit the second unlock screen if you use a password/passcode. It will work with an unlock pattern, however.
In my case, this doesn't really help, as my work e-mail requires a password/passcode, and does not allow patterns.
Thanks, again.
In case somebody wants to use widgetlocker but doesn´t because you can unlock by pressing the home button:
Set the LCD Density to 319, that doesn´t destroy the backgrounds in S-Memo and everything else seems to be unaffected as well. But - for whatever reason - widgetlocker doesn´t unlock with the home button any more.
Why don't you just go into Widgetlocker advanced settings, select 'Homehelper', activate 'Homehelper Component' then activate 'Homehelper block home'.
Then the home button will no longer unlock the phone
Widgetlocker now works properly with the right settings to prevent home screen unlocking.
Density has nothing whatsoever to do with it, I wonder whether you updated to Widgetlocker recently or reinstalled/retried it recently because the home button behaviour was fixed a couple of updates ago.
I would have loved to see if home button did not wake up the screen.
I know about Homehelper, I am at 320 right now, Homehelper is on, there are no updates available for Widgetlocker and the home button unlocks.
Ok, forget what I wrote, reinstall fixed it.
Hello,
Is it possible to assign the return key to lock the screen?
I can not find the option.
On Desire HD it was possible to assign the research key.
First of, you need to enable full immersive (hide both navbar and status bar) via ADB command described in this article
https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...re-screen-real-estate-no-root-needed-0177297/
Then go to Edge screen settings and download/install Softkey Edge application. For convenience, order the Softkey edge to be first.
Let me know how it goes.
Nice!.... I will try
I tried this and while I like the full immersion I have to wonder if there's really a reason for the edge navigation since the soft keys already show back up if you swipe up from the bottom.
I went with toggle immersive mode remapped on my bixby button..
it's better since we'll have quick option/action to turn on and off the immersive mode.

They probably used either BixBye or bxActions (or some other equivalent) but I have found that those apps cause scrolling lag/dropper frames when granted accessibility rights. I used a combo of GMD Immersive Mode and Navigation Layer and found it worked pretty well without lag issues.

well I made the toggle immersive app using tasker and autotools since I have them.
(in tasker select plug-in > autotools > secure settings > display > immersive mode)
then use bixby remapper app to launch it, just choose one that works for you.
at first I used bixbye app to remap bixby button, but it's accessibility rights and usage
broke my one hand mode setting.
then I use Bixby remapper that still has old accessibility rights mode (without swipe rights)
and it's working fine.. I don't see any scrolling lag .
definitely cool. easy to do. figer sensor also works to bring down the notification panel so I just did the notification. I like my Nav bar.
well I reverted.. this breaks Google voice typing. and Whatsapp looks all broken.
I like to have double-tab on home button to turn screen off, is that available on stock?
I know you can configure double-tab on screen to turn screen off, but I use Nova launcher, and the double tab action is probably controlled by Nova. If I use Nova double tab gesture, then I can't unlock with fingerprint...
Or any suggestion to turn screen off without pressing the power button?
U would need a custom rom
in LeeDrOiD ROM there is a option: Always Allow Fingerprint Unlock
Double tap in Nova launcher is configurable in the way it does not conflict with fingerprint unlock. I know it is possible cause I use it but I do not know how to configure it anymore
I ended up loading ViperU and it's working great!
Just trying to make my new tablet with China ROM feel like home, and want to use my normal launcher "Action Launcher" couldn't figure out how to override the gesture, so turned on the navigation buttons, but the home button does do anything. Anyone know how I can fix the home button, or override the home gesture?
Also the quick tiles, I notice that it doesn't use standard android quick tiles, so the apps that usually have quick tiles don't show up. Can I add more tiles?
Tablet did OTA update to 13.0.364, and I do have L1 windvine. Anything else I should do?
Nova Launcher works great for me. You can then set it to the default launcher. I keep the Lenovo gestures and have added a home button to the home screen.
