Hi guys.
I'm trying to connect my pen drive via OTG connection but it doesn't work even if I turn it on in settings.
When I plug it in, the option just gets darken and nothing happens...
I'm sure the cable is ok cause I've used it on my s7 edge to transfer the music files I want to send to the oppo phone.
There are some extra config I'm missing to do?
Regards.

Cover? You mean a protective case?
What can this interfere with?

Our phones have a magnetic sensor and I'm assuming that's how Samsung's docks automatically pull up the car/desk dock apps. So does anyone know what type of magnets (if this is how it works) and where they would need to be placed if you wanted to either mod a 3rd party dock or make your own?
Just do what i did with my old droid. I used the magnet.out of a phone holster, i ran it over the back till it activated, i marked the spot and made a cradle. The opposite side of the magnet should activate the.other mode......,, ie positive turned on car dock, negative turned on desk clock.

hmm, maybe it's more to it than that on the galaxy?
Did you have your phone plugged in when you tried? That could be a condition..
There does not appear to be a magnet in the car dock, it seems the dock screen activation is linked to the micro usb connector on the dock. I checked the entire car dock with a paperclip and found no magnet. When you install the phone into the dock it will only activate the dock screen when you slide the top piece into the micro usb connector..

Damn samsung, why you wanna do that? I would have loved to buy both docks if they allowed the phone to be in a case

Yeah, I just ordered a dock for the express purpose of opening it up and analyzing the special usb connection. I need to make a custom dock/cable for mounting in the dash of my car.

Will do, but right now I can say this thing's not going to be easy to get into without tearing it up.

I believe ya on that... I had the desk dock for a day or two, but took it back since I couldn't keep my case on it... I didn't really inspect it too much for screws though.
My screen stays black when i turn the tablet on. It charges fine and boots up normally because i can connect it to my pc and see the internal storage and access it. Is there a way to determine whether it is a bad lcd or another component such as the cable?
PS: I replace the digitizer on my tablet but i removed everything carefully and made sure that nothing was physically damaged as the screen showed no signs of damage on it.

Is there a way to determine from my computer? I currently don't have an hdmi cable for my tablet so i was wondering is an alternative way to see if it's broken.

ok thank you for the idea. Also i noticed on the digitizer that there is a metal contact looking frame around where the lcd sits and on the original digitizer, the adhesive tape was like a foam that might have been conductive. I'm wondering if that is a possible reason because the adhesive tape I have is not conductive.
I finally got the hdmi cable in the mail and tested my tablet to see that the digitizer works. Although the screen doesn't work so does anyone know where to get a screen for low price

Are you saying you connected by HDMI to a monitor and you could see you tablets home screen? Then moved your finger around on the tablets screen and saw on the monitor the touch is working?
I think, since you said earlier you have had it apart to fix the digitizer, you might open it again and look for a loose connection. While you're in there you can get the part numbers off the old screen so if you do need a new one you'll have them.
Once you have that part number just google the part number and go shopping.
Yes the digitizer works fine through hdmi and i did look up the screen model number but i was wondering if anyone knew a site to get them for a low price. I remember seeing one for $55 when i was looking for a digitizer but so far the cheapest i could find was around $88.

I think there are online auction sites like amazon and ebay have wireless charging option. but I think you need to be careful as there are configuration that is needed for it to work.

Seconded - moving from wireless charging on my Note 2 is the only downside to my upgrade. Can anyone confirm if there ar the necessary prongs inside the case...?

I can say that there cant be done to the device as of this time, maybe samsung will do the tweak in the future..
There are some universal wireless charger receivers to build into phones, but I haven't found any for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2.
Did anyone find something for this?
Please let us know.

Thanks, that search string found 0 items. I do find many items in simplified search string, but they are all for center USB phones. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has off-center micro USB port...... Can you point at one specific item or shop?
make sure you find one on aliexpress which has ribbon on the right, since the straight ones won´t work

thanks guys, ordered one......
How is this one supposed to work? You plug it into your USB port, this part is clear, but then? Do you somehow stick it under the cover? Or just stick it on the back side?

I would try to get it under the back cover, if no go, then under an external cover...... There are some clips on YouTube to check. My best guess is to use an external cover.....

It's still in transit, expecting this week.....
Ah OK, cause I'm thinking of buying one too, and there's currently a 5% discount
The only thing that bothers me is to Sacrifice the micro USB poort. I don't like that but What can you do.......
So I bit the bullet and bought one and a charging pad. Let's hope they work!
And about the USB port, I thought you'd still be able to use it cause it seemed like it would still allow the cable to go through. Well in any case I only use the port to charge my phone, everything else is done via WiFi
Actually there are 2 questions:
Is it possible to put it under original cover?
Are camera, flash light and speaker OK with this?
ok, the adapter does fit for use inside the phone, although I had to file out the USB port entrance in the back cover. That being said, it won't charge properly due to the layer of foil inside the back cover I presume. It sits now between the phone's back cover an the external silicone cover. Wireless charging is go!
awesome cant wait to try this and build a charger in every table
Hi, could you share with us somes pictures ?
Thanks

I dismantled it, I can't live without data usb connect.....
are there any other attachables ?
is there an api or pin diagram for the ports on the back to tinker with ?
Pins are only for power. The 360 camera syncs data wirelessly.
+1, i hold an l-e-d across those pins (both ways) and it doesnt lite up (even with the camera app running); any way to wake up those terminals ?
The pins are for magnets
I would think there would be one heck of a car mount available using those pin magnets!

thanks, then i think wireless charging would be possible (if one fabricates a receiving coil to those pins -- i have one for the galaxy note-3 so maybe i can tape the leads to the essential somehow (i'd hate to use solder)).

Is there anything wrong with using this strictly as a magnet, for instance to attach to a magnet mount in your car?
