I've had GMS installed for the last few weeks and the only thing I miss now is Google pay for contactless payments. Is it possible to get it working in the UK, if not is there any other way I can use contactless payments with my P40 Pro on the uk?

I'm pretty sure it can't be done until Google certify the phone, I'm in UK and everything I've read says the same.

OK thanks, do you know if there is any other way for contactless other than Google Pay or is that a no go as well?
As far as I can see it's all a no go, i did read you can set PayPal up but I don't get a contactless option and not sure if it's accepted by UK retailers in general. Like you it's the last bit of the puzzle to make it the perfect phone so come on Huawei get wallet sorted!!!

I am living in Australia and most of our major bank app support NFC payment. I made few payments from my P40 Pro using my bank app. You might check your bank app support NFC payment first ?
Otherwise you can try to buy TicWatch Pro 3 from GearBest, it is a good WearOS watch that support GPay.
Just need to pair to a phone that support full GMS and follow the XDA instruction to repair it to P40 pro. I am using TicWatch Pro 2020 for my GPay usage.

Thanks for that, it seems the banks in the UK partner up with Google pay, Samsung pay etc and don't offer direct NFC payments.
I'll take a look at that watch, that maybe an option.

It seem only Barclays support in app NFC if you are banking with it can try.
I am using Fitbit pay on my P40 Pro with my Fitbit Sense. I have my two bank cards setup in my Curve app which is Fitbit pay compatible. I am able to choose which bank card is default via the curve app and pay with the watch. The Fitbit app and hardware work really well on the P40 Pro. I also have the benefit of ECG, SPO2, Alexa support. and all of the health benefits. A really good combination.

I've been using Android pay for a week but have found that where I live there are a lot of terminals that don't accept tap to pay via nfc.
I notice that samsung pay can emulate the magnetic strip used on older terminals so thought may be worth giving it a go.
I tried to download the app from the play store but it says my device isn't supported! I could have sworn the s7 was supposed to be supported so am at a loss as to why I'm barred from using it.
Is anyone else here having the same problem?
i have a us sprint version and samsung pay works for me. i just have to wait for the bank to open tomorrow and have my card verified. my app runs and allowed me to add the card just have to get it verified before i can use it. i used it on my note 5 and yes any terminal that u can swipe a card with u should be able to use samsung pay with. if u root your phone u break samsung pay fyi

I think OP is from the UK not US, that why OP is having trouble with it
i wish they would have got it going on the gear s2. that's one of the reasons i got one when i had my note 5 but they didn't have it for the us version of the watch
Using Samsung Pay, with T-Mobile in US, works everywhere. I also have the iPhone 6S, stopped using it months ago, Apple Pay has problems everywhere, Samsung Pay works anywhere and everywhere.

What version of s7 do you have? I have a G930FD, I flashed it with firmware from UAE, csc code XSG, and installed the latest Samsung Pay and Samsung Pay Frame. And it works very well in U.S. You can find the thread for this.
Thanks. I thought samsung pay would have been usable upon launch in the UK and missed that it hadn't been released here yet.
I don't fancy flashing another country's firmware for now so will just be patient and wait for its release here.
If it wasn't for the magnetic strip emulation I wouldn't bother but even some of the big chain stores don't have contactless here so could really use it.
FWIW I have a G930F

Hey everyone! Just picked up a gear s3 frontier (international version shipped from Korea since I live in Japan). I am pairing it with a OnePlus 3. The oneplus 3 is rooted but im not sure about anything else like Knox etc. Id like to get Samsung Pay working on the watch but of course nothing shows up in the Gear Manager where pay should be.
Not sure where to start, as Id like to keep root if possible, but definitely want to get Pay working with this setup. Any ideas would be appreciated!
I have the option to OTA update to most recent Oxygen OS and that looses my root, which i might try if I get no suggestions. TIA
Phone- Oneplus A3000 android 6.0.1 rooted, oxygen os 3.2.2
Watch- SM-R760 international, tizen version 2.3.2.1, software version R760XXU1APK6
Hi, some of us in Singapore bought Korea set also faced the same issue, I'm currently using Huawei P9 but I didn't do any modification to it. So I doubt rooting is the reason. Just give them sometimes perhaps? I just tweeted to samsung pay twitter to check on this too.

Thanks for the reply! Please update me here if you get any kind of answer. I might have to try and sell this off and get a US version to use Pay.
Im trying a big list of things, but nothing has worked so far. On the watch under NFC settings it says no tap and pay app is installed, so at least the watch is capable i think...

Yes, I managed to get Samsung Pay installed in Gear Manager by using GPS spoofing but that didn't put the app onto the watch. It appears if the app isn't on the watch, the Gear Manager app fails. I tried*enabling debug mode but that didn't help.
Are you running a nougat rom? I had the same problem when I tried a nougat rom on my S7E. It says installation failed and pay does not show up in Gear. It works perfectly on a MM rom

I check with Samsung Pay Singapore, and they said "only Singapore version can work with it". Screw them, everything is the same, there has to be a way ~
Now waiting for global samsung pay representative to reply
Based on other thread posts, so far all the Gears that have Samsung Pay were pre-installed in the factory with it.
Samsung Pay WAS NOT installed by Gear Manager.
The only watches with it preinstalled are ones from the supported countries.
Thus there's nothing you can do to Gear Manager to make it install Samsung Pay on the watch.
Even people who have Gear Manager in supported countries can't get Samsung Pay on watches purchased from an unsupported country.
Someone please find a way to extract it from the watch as no Gear Manager will install it.

i am using the USA t mobile model and install the Samsung pay.
you need to install the gear plug-in separately from gear store or google play store.
Have been paying for NTUC purchases and restaurants so far it is all working except for on place, the machine just prompt "void"
initially i have problem installing and USA has a 5 digit zip code whereas we have 6 digit when i was adding the credit card details.
So i Wrote to Samsung pay and ask why i cannot get it working....the answer from them is that USA gear S3 cannot work with Singapore cards!!! i thought i was doomed.
so i tried my luck again, i just entered "00000" and Bingo! it works!
i even enter Alipay now and will try in China soon.
i also wish they have WeChat pay which i used it a lot in China. it has been popular for about 4-5 years now for cashless payments.

Everyone has gear plugin app installed (it's a mandatory install after Gear Manager), but not everyone has the Samsung Pay app appearing on watch, especially those in unsupported countries or those with watches sold there.
People are able to get Samsung Pay to appear in Gear Manager with GPS spoofing but it still doesn't appear in the watch.
Where do you find the Gear Plug In separately from outside?

Perhaps the reason why it shows up is because the preinstalled software just needed to be enabled. This would explain why watches sold outside of supported countries never get Samsung pay no matter what is installed on the phone.

Hell yes! If possible buy the Indian version, it comes with pre installed Gapps.
Buy Indian version
I have the indian version as im from India, and its an excellent phone.
Phones from china dont usally have google services installed so i recommend to get it from India, as all services are installed.
Unfortunately I was only able to order Chinese version? I had to go with gearbest... What sucks is they put the Global 845 version up for only 110$ more after I bought the phone. I tried to cancel order but it already shipped.

I'm in the US on T-Mobile (sim1) and att (sim2) no issues although I had to fix apn cuase the auto assigned on did have a couple of settings for my T-Mobile SIM. As for the Google play it's works just fine, just take note it's not certified device so some apks you'll have side load ie Netflix etc. etc.
Vivo account is pretty annoying and so is the default luncher. I switched mine to Nova and got a vivo an account made from the seller I got it from.

Nope. Calls bounce back to 3g service.
Oppo/OnePlus rip us off in EU, so we need to pay about 200€ more than China (no price drop for us) and get half of the storage and less RAM.
My question is (I never did this before): When I get the chinese variant of the OnePlus 7 aka GM1900 and flash over stock recovery from GM57 to GM57BA, it will still stay a GM1900 and not change to GM1903 (EU model number) but
1. Widevine L1 or L3?
2. VoLTE/Wifi-Calling?
3. Google Play Certification?
Don't get me wrong but with shipping, tax, a second charger, a KFZ charger and a second dash cable + double storage I will safe over 100€
Did somebody try it or maybe flash to Global Version (India)?
google certificate is there even in hydrogen os ...
This also crossed my mind too...
I’d be interested in the responses.
What would the warranty be like?
@engrmudassar
I didn't know that you got Google Play on Hydrogen OS
@MarylandCookie
When you get it on shops like Tradinshenzen, you get warranty, if you get it on shops like Banggood oder Gearbest, you just get the device.
The big problem here is you need to pay about 15€ shipping on Tradingshenzen and PayPal +3%, so it's about 491€ at the end. On Banggood you can now pre-order for 446€ with shipping and tax.
I think I will get mine over eBay, can pay with PayPal and will safe +150€. Something get broken and it's still under 150€ to fix it, it's still a win.

just install the google play apk on Hydrogen os and it shows that devices is certified unlike xiaomi phones ... i guess its something to do with the pre install google play services in hydrogen os
GooglePlay service has already been put in Hydrogen os,but you can't find any google app on the launcher screen. You need to creat a google account so that the google services will be available. Then you can install any google apps as your wish.
I got myself OnePlus 7 from China because of the red color Phone is reflashed with Oxygen OS and OTA works.
1. Widevine L1 or L3?
Widevine L1 is supported. Netflix runs - looks like the regular cap at 720p.
2. VoLTE/Wifi-Calling?
It's not officially supported with my carrier but I successfully enabled it after sideloading newer version of oemlogkit I was able to enable it. (And verified it works).
3. Google Play Certification?
Yep, no problem. I also used Google Pay (via NFC) when paying.

I've bought one from TradingShezhen (GM1900). It was significantly cheaper - £420 for the 8gb/256GB in Red (£549 in UK). I bought a second hand dash charger from Ebay. (Note, need to use the red cable that comes with the OP7 - or dash charging doesn't work using older dash charging cables)
They installed the global rom(AA) and out of the box, I had VoLTE/VoWifi working with Three UK. Options exist in SIM settings.
I decided I wanted to use the EU Rom(BA), so cross flashed straight away. This was easy, just downloaded the latest OP7 Rom from Oneplus - dumped it into the root of internal storage and did a local upgrade.
Google Play all working fine.
The model number does not change - it stays GM1900 and still gets OTA.
What about LTE frequencies? Thx

Did VoLTE/VoWifi still work after you flashed BA?

Yes. Didn't have to do anything. Working by default. That could be as I'm using Three UK who now have a deal with OP.
Thanks
I'm with Three UK too. Waiting for phone to arrive

What is the difference between Global rom(AA) & EU rom(BA)? Why did you switch to EU rom(BA)?
Nevermind for I have found the answer:
EU ROM comes with slightly less preinstalled apps as well as search app & browser selection.
There is no way to downgrade to a older version without unlocking the bootloader and manually flashing via fastboot or TWRP.
I have Global ROM and I like that I don't see the annoying high volume popup over and over. Isn't it a case with EU ROM?

Isn't it enough to disable/ignore the high volume popup just once? Personally I really liked the high volume warning, yet once you go over the recommended levels you'd never see the same high volume popup again!
I'm saw the Mate 30 Pro 5G in a shop this evening and I'm contemplating getting it.
Does anyone see any reason why it wouldn't work ok on Three's 5G in the UK?
It should work well on Three's 5G in the UK. But it is said that Mate 30 doesn't support Google Play.

Yeah, I've switched away from Google Play due to the US blacklisting Huawei (I already use a Chinese Huawei P10). Not having Google Play is not a huge problem, imo, though switching away from Google's products *is* more painful - I had become locked in more than I had realised :/ Still, I don't use many of the Google apps, since I prefer to use their web sites, so I can migrate away gradually. I know to be more aware of locking myself in, in future.
Good to know it should work fine on Three's 5G network. Three also confirm it should work.

Guys we need to pray for the day when they give us international firmware for 5g version.. ?? . I hope it's soon .
