Hey guys got my fold 2 and watch 3 last week. Love both of them. Im a home builder so leaving the phone in the truck and using the watch all day works great. Anyway, transferring music files over (Mp3) I don't use Spotify, the fold shows certain music files I have, some transfer no problem and others say can't be transferred, then phone just shows its connecting and doesn't do anything, all I have to do is hit the back button and just goes back to wearables and everything is fine but, those certain mp3's won't transfer. Interesting thing is if I sync my old LG v30 to the watch it transfers the files no problem. I'm stuck on this one. Every file is Mp3, no difference under properties. Having to reboot and sync watch back and fourth between the two phones is getting ridiculous. Any help would be great. Thanks

What size are the MP3's? Are the ones getting stuck much different regarding their size??
Are the MP3 files all stored in the same place on the phone?
Check permissions are all ticked for Galaxy Wearable, Galaxy Watch Plugin on the phone
On the watch Settings/Apps/Permissions turn on all for Music/Gallery
Maybe try converting your failed MP3's to another format (The Galaxy Wearable app and the Music app support MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG, and WMA audio files)
That's all I can think of.

Lo all,
Got my new orbit 2, so far impressed after moving from the original orbit. Problem is that when importing music into the htc app, it won't find all the tracks and seems to get stuck somewhere, with the magnifying glass always present on the track list screen... I'm using an 8gig card, but the old orbit had no issues with this...
Same with pictures, it finds some, but not all... is this software or is my device faulty... failing that, am i just thick and doing something wrong?
cheers for any help!
How are you synchronizing your music? I am using Windows Media Player on my PC to sync and all my tracks are read just fine off my 8GB miniSD.
FYI: HTC Audio manager scans the SD card for tracks, so maybe you just need to let it finish scanning and you'll find your tracks?
Cheers for the reply!
I'm not sync'ing, I'm dragging and dropping straight to the card via usb reader...
As for letting it find the tracks, when I put lumps of tracks on, it takes seconds to find them, with the lot on, I've left it for an hour and still no joy!!!

Just curious, what is the bit rate your music is encoded at? I have heard issues with some players reading a list that had items encoded at too large a bit rate.
I had the same issue on the Polaris. 8GB SD. Magnifying glass keeps going and not all tracks were in the library. I think it's an HTC Audio Manager thing. I don't remember seeing WMP having the same problem.

No, not neccessarily, I use HTC Audio Manager as my primary mp3 player. But I sync from the PC using Windows Media Player. All tracks show up. I however only have about 4GB synced at this point. Maybe the issue is when you get closer to 8GB of music on the card?
Hello all,
I got My VZW branded M8 on launch day and have been getting used to it and checking 20 times a day to see if a perm root solution has been found or better yet an S-Off method. On to my issue in the past few days I've had some time to listen to some mp3s from an SD card on the M8's stock music app and I have found that there is an audible stutter randomly occurring 3-5 times per song. The same mp3 played in poweramp plays smooth. The same SD card played the same songs smoothly in my DNA. So I'm lead to believe there some issue with the stock music app. I tested with screen timeout disabled, motion gestures disabled and still got the same thing.
Did anyone notice the same issue or is it just my phone.
It sounds like song skipped a beat or someone bumping a CD player, not really a sound but just the timing got out of sync for an instant. The first time I just thought it was a error in mp3 then I picked up that it was happening continually but could not be reproduced by replaying the same section of music. I love poweramp but the stock music player should function correctly on a flagship phone and IMO. I like the HTC stock music app as it lets me stream music from my DLNA server on my network, so I like it to function properly.
Kind Regards,
mc
Maybe try a factory reset since its obviously not a hardware issue if a third party app is working perfectly. Only music player i use is the stock HTC Music app and never had any issues with it across the board. Works perfect here even streaming over BT in the car or BT stereo headsets.
No stuttering here, but i've had tracks reset to start after short inactivity. I listen to audiobooks and had to go use Google Play Music because my chapters kept starting over after pausing them.

I've actually been having this issue but over Bluetooth only but my audio never skips when I have a 3.5mm jack plugged in. I'm getting a new Bluetooth device and I'll report back on my findings.
Have not had this issue with my Verizon M8. I have all my music (about 20gb) on the sd card, and normally play through the 3.5mm jack.
The one thing I did notice is, with my old htc phone, when playing music and a notification came in, it would interrupt the music and play the notification. I liked this because I would know to look at my phone. With this one, there is NO interruption of the music. So I can be in my car for a half hour playing music, and not know of any texts or emails unless I look at the phone. Anyone know a solution?
UPDATE: I tried using another Bluetooth device and the same problem occurred. Also to note, I'm having this issue with the stock music app & PlayerPro. However, if I reboot my phone the problem does not occur and I'm able to play music through my Bluetooth device without stutters.
@mc_365: Trying to see if we have anything in common. When music stutters, are you connected via Bluetooth? By any chance are you rooted & did you freeze any apps? Do you have the problem while connected to a 3.5mm jack?
UPDATE (9:32a PT): I just tried a factory reset & I'm still having the problem. Anybody have any other suggestions?

I'm not rooted and trying to play music through my Camaro bluetooth from Play Music it just constantly skips. I am running on ART and will switch back to dalvik to see if that fixes it. If not, I'm going to exchange my phone or return it all together.
UPDATE:
I switched back to Dalvik and did a factory reset to make sure everything was done properly. Now Google Play Music doesn't skip when I play music through my car. Are any of you on ART runtime by chance?
I just came back from Verizon & exchanged my M8; I'll have to check to see if that helped.

Are you playing music from your SD card or internal memory?

I never messed around with changing Dalvik/ART; I checked and I'm running Dalvik. Are you playing music off your SD card or internal memory over Bluetooth when you're having this problem?
I'm just playing mp3s from SD card on a regular pair of earphones. I think maybe my issue is the HTC decoder just doesn't like the CD rip I was playing, maybe the bitrate or the error handling within the app or something like that. I've played other mp3s now and can't say that this is something that is consistently happening.
I have all my songs on external sd card. I can try streaming Pandora in my car and see if any stuttering If that makes a difference? I did though download a few so to internal storage and played over Bluetooth in my car on the way home without stuttering. Played the same as the songs on my external sd card.
I have an obnoxious stutter on the Netflix app through speakers and headphone jack. Noticed it through play movies today also. Reset did nothing. Sadly it isn't noticeable for it to pass through the replacement check

I get the occasional skip when streaming over bluetooth from my SD card. I'd suspect it has more to do with the I/O read ahead or scheduler than anything. It seems to happen whether or not the screen is on, so I don't think it's a processor hang or anything like that.
I hope this update helps anyone with the same issue. :fingers-crossed:
*knock on wood
I noticed that the skips were less and far between if I was playing music over Bluetooth using the internal memory. So what I did is take another SD card and played music on that. This resulted in no skips that I could tell. Perhaps it might be a defective SD card or bad format so I reformatted the SD card completely (full not quick) and so far I'm having less skips in music. I ordered up the 128 GB SanDisk card & hopefully I won't have any skips using that card.
I'm thinking once we get a permanent root & S-Off we can try putting AOSP on our M8s & see if that eliminates the issue completely. :fingers-crossed:
If anybody else can share any suggestions on what to try, that would be great!

This is the problem I'm experiencing that brought me to this thread. Did you ever find a solution? Both Google Play Music and Stock HTC Music play over the notification. My podcast app, Pocket Casts, appropriately gives focus to notification sounds every time.

In sum, the potential fix is to change the read-ahead buffer from 512 to 1024, and the guy said it worked for several days with no further updates. He happened to be running Viper when he made the changes... apparently it uses the stock kernel. I am running CleanROM with stock kernel, so I just installed trickster and changed my read-ahead buffer to 1024. I'll report back if that makes a difference. There was one follow-up comment that it didn't make a difference in the stock ROM (edit - ahh... from broprah... any update to that?).
FWIW, I have been noticing this issue a lot BUT I only get it when streaming to my BT earbuds (with HTC Music, Google Play Music, and Pocket Casts). This stuttering does not happen when I use wired earbuds or playing over BT in my car. I understand the scenarios are different for everyone, but that's my own situation.

I ended up flashing Viper and I haven't experienced any stuttering since. In poking around, I see that changing the read ahead in the built in system tools only changes the internal read ahead. Further poking revealed that the external read ahead is preset to 4096kb, which could be the solution in the end.

I don't see a differentiation in Trickster. Do you know if that's just a Viper setting?
I was using FauxTool to check and change settings, regardless of kernel.
No such luck with my read ahead change. :/

Using a OPO and when I stream music over Bluetooth, eventually, the music player, any music player, apollo, jetaudio, orpheus all freeze up when a track changes at some random point and the whole app hangs and locks up the phone as well.
Eventually the phone kills the app and restarts it but by then I've already run over several pedestrians and driven my car into a ditch trying to figure out why my music stopped.
This has happened on both my sony soundbar and pioneer car reciever. As such I can safely say its not relegated to one Bluetooth enabled player.
I use to use a Kinivo BTC450 and never had this issue for a long while on Android 4, but after the switch to 5 the issue popped up on my sound bar and when i put the pioneer in my car it showed up there as well.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
===NOTE===
Stock OPO 64
Never Rooted or modified
Syncs 30+ gigs of music
factory reset once since purchased, that was last month. Problem was happening before that. Factory reset did nothing.
(I am posting this because I searched for a while and found nothing related)
SOLUTION FOUND
So after a lot of trial and error, Android does not play nice with .wma files and .m4a files even though the media player is advertised to be compatible with it.
So onto the solution, batch transcoded every wma and m4a file to mp3. Easy CD.DA Extractor had a lovely little feature that made this a hassle free jaunt. It can replace any song converted, with its converted version and delete the old one, so i didnt need to manually replace every song maually. And a quick find and replace function, looking for wma and replacing with mp3 saved me from having to redo all my playlists.
Happy day
Hey guys,
Just received the phone and I'm tyring to sync some music but it won't send at all.
I keep getting "Sending failed. failed to send the tracks o your gear"
Pictures send fine.. just the music.
I have bluetooth on, wifi on, everything works fine except this music beeswax
ANy ideas?
THanks
I have a similiar problem, but my phone shows the files were sent, but when I open the music player on the watch it only has the option to play music from phone. Even when I put it in standalone mode, there is no option to view/play local music. Interestingly, the storage indicates there are audio files on the watch.
You need to connect a Bluetooth headset to your Gear S2. When connected to my Bluetooth headphones it gives me the option to play audio files from my watch or phone. When not connected to my headphones, it will only play files on my phone.

I had the same issue with my initial setup with my Galaxy S6 and Gear S2. My music files were scattered in different folders. Moved them all to the Samsung>Music folder and it worked after that. Haven't tried other folders so don't know if that particular folder is required or just somewhere less buried than my email client download folder etc.
Hello,
I have searched and searched over the web for an way to stream music from my Galaxy S7 to my Gear S3, and the only response that pops up is 'how to transfer your music' or 'how to use your gear to control music playing from your phone', which isn't what I want. For one thing, the amount of music could never fit on my gear, and secondly what if I need to put my phone away or its in another room and I'd like to play the music through my watch speakers? If anyone could help me with this in any way, I would be very grateful.
P.s. oh, and if anybody knows a way to use the phone to play gear music (I.e. making the phone a Bluetooth receiver), that would be amazing.
Thanks, Gavin
Using the music app, you can choose the source to phone or watch (top right icon). This works as long they're within Bluetooth range.
Well, yes, but when changing the music source to the phone, the music plays from the phone itself rather than from the gear's speakers, which is what I'm looking for

Were u able to find the solution for this? When i first got my watch somehow it played from the watch but now its just back to the phone speaker.
Sadly not, as no one can either come up with a reply or take the time to help.
I've noticed that some times when i listen to music on my phone(native player or even spotify) and it gets a call, the music stops (like it should) . When I'm answering using my watch, the music player starts to play again via the watch speaker. So i hear both the other party and the soge playing simultaneously . The other party isn't aware of this and can't hear this funny streaming combination. So technically it's more than possible.
I once listened to "family of the year - hero" and my mom called, when she said "hello" the music started to stream again and the singer told my mom "let me go, i don't want to be your hero". =)
what about this?
any solutions?
I used gear s3 with iPhone 6s before, I was able to stream anything to watch's speaker.. because iPhone was connecting with the watch with 2 different type of bluetooth connection. one was speaker and the other was watch. iPhone sees s3 as speaker but Samsung does not.. wtf?
Exactly, first time when i got watch i was able to play the song from mobile in either phone speakers or gear speakers. I got a music update after which i am able to only switch music source but not audio source
I'm also interested in finding a solution for this. It should definitely be technically possible.
What I've discovered so far...
So I finally sound the "three dots" on the side app which only appear for me when streaming from the watch itself. Then it plays from the watch speakers with the option to stream to headphones . Still not understanding how to stream from the phone to watch speakers though. This is really silly no? I know I've done it before. You'd think Samsung wod have the answer somewhere... Perhaps it's an effort to get you to buy music on their platform rather than streaming from a third party?
Gear s3 is underwhelming
I bought this watch thinking samsung products can do everything I'll be satisfied. Then realized shortly after that many functions which should be obviously desired and easily accomplished are simply unavailable. I really wish samsung would enhance their current gear watches because this crap is rediculous.
